Introduction

Welcome to the Concrete Genie Trophy Guide! In Concrete Genie you play as Ash, a young boy with the passion of doodling in his sketchbook. A group of bullies steals his book and rips out the pages, forcing Ash to go on a quest to retrieve them all. While doing so, he discovers a magic paintbrush with the power of cleansing the corrupted city of Denska from the Darkness that has overrun it.

As for trophies, we’re looking at a pretty straightforward and easy list. None of the trophies are tied to the difficulty modes and none of them are missable! Most trophies, except for the story-related ones, are locked behind collectibles, either requiring you to find certain collectible types or to collect specific pages in order to unlock a new Design, Feature, or Genie, which will then be used to unlock the trophy that needs said page. Refer to the Collectible Guide, in which you’ll find all collectibles listed by chapter. The game only has three miscellaneous trophies, requiring you to enter Photo Mode, find Luna’s secret under the Lighthouse and play the Free Paint levels. Overall, it’s a very enjoyable run.

Step 1: Play through the Story and collect whatever you stumble across except for Genie Moments Sketches

For your first step, your goal is to play through the story. As you play through the story, you will unlock some story-related Collectibles, and genie-related trophies. As for Collectibles found in the wild, some of them are necessary to proceed, others can be ignored and picked up during Step 2. Having said that, you can also play the game with the Collectibles Guide open if you so prefer and get all Collectibles during this step. Just make sure to not collect any Genie Moments Sketches during this step if you want to avoid some extra grind later (refer to Collectibles Guide for more information on this).

Step 2: Clean up all Collectibles and Genie-related trophies

Now your objective is to finish collecting whatever you’ve got left. Refer to the Collectibles Guide to find out what you’re missing. As you go for missing Collectibles, you’ll also want to unlock those genie-related trophies you don’t have yet. Some of them will be naturally unlocked as you complete Genie Moment Sketches, others will require you to take other specific actions.

Step 3: Miscellaneous trophies

Now focus your attention on any remaining trophies. You may still have to unearth Luna’s secret under the Lighthouse, use the Replay feature in Photo Mode, play the Free Paint levels and paint a set number of designs.

Dog? Cat? Draaaaagon?
Bring your first quadruped Genie to life.
Throughout the game you’ll have many opportunities to bring Genies to life. Whenever you see a Genie’s outline on the ground, step on it and press :square: to start drawing. To make a quadruped Genie, the Genie’s body must be horizontal (left-right). Hit :square: to finish your creation and unlock the trophy.
All Ears
Attach Ears to a Genie.
Throughout the game you’ll have many opportunities to bring Genies to life. Whenever you see a Genie’s outline on the ground, step on it and press :square: to start drawing. To attach Ears to a Genie, simply choose any Ears Feature from the third tab. Hit :square: to finish your creation and unlock the trophy.
Fa-Fa-Fa-Fashion!
Attach more than 5 different Features to a Genie.
Throughout the game you’ll have many opportunities to bring Genies to life. Whenever you see a Genie’s outline on the ground, step on it and press :square: to start drawing. To attach more than 5 different Features to a Genie, choose any 6 Features from the different tabs and attach them to the Genie in question. To get to 6, your Genie will have to sport, for example, two different Arms and Tails Features in addition to one Feature from the tabs you haven’t chosen anything from yet. Hit :square: to finish your creation and unlock the trophy.
Besties
Wave to your Genie more than 3 times.
After creating at least one Genie, call him by pressing :l1: , then press  to wave at him. Repeat the same three times to unlock the trophy.
High Five!
High-five your Genie after scoring a basket.
You will unlock this trophy as you play through the story. Shortly after reaching the Fishing Port, you will find a basketball hoop on a wall. The Genie you’ve created will want you to play with him and give you the ball. Approach the ball to throw it and Ash will score a basket. Then, approach your Genie to high-five him.
Karaoke Night!
Hear your Genie sing.
You will most likely unlock this trophy as you play through the story – either when you complete the Genie Moments Sketches or if you satisfy one of their random painting requests (if you go for platinum, then this trophy comes automatically). At some point one of your Genies will ask you to play with you and draw something for them. The requested design will make him sing. Don’t forget to call your genie by holding :l1: .

If this trophy doesn’t unlock as you play through the story, you can try this alternative method out at any point during or after the story: go to the first area of Denska with the yellow cart and call up your Genie to the wall opposite the spotlights in the middle. As soon as your Genie reaches the wall, he will want to play with you. Now approach the spotlights and turn them on to have him sing. Trophy unlocks.

Peekaboo!
Play Peekaboo with your Genie and get Peekabooed.
*Potentially Glitched*

You will unlock this trophy as you play through the story. After having the two Genies blow the crate for you to mount in The Waterways, you will find a blue Genie hidden behind a crate. You will automatically get peekabooed and unlock the trophy.

If this trophy doesn’t unlock for you, you can always get it after the story. Go to the Waterways area with the billboard and call up you genie (draw a new yellow one if needed) and wait for Ash to say “Oh, you wanna play?”. Now press :square: to hide behind the pillar near the billboard and when the prompt appears again, press it again to peekaboo the Genie. Trophy unlocks.

Om Nom Nom Nom
Watch a Genie throw an Apple to another Genie.
After unlocking the Apple design, have two Genies stand near each other (use :l1: to summon them), then create an Apple. After a short animation between the two Genies, the trophy will unlock.
My Happy Place
Sit by the Campfire with your Genie.
After unlocking the Campfire design, call a Genie to you by pressing and holding :l1: , then create a Campfire. Then, press  on your D-pad to sit down by the Campfire with your Genie. After a short animation, the trophy will unlock.
Weeeeeeeeeeee!
Watch your Genie run away with a Kite or a Pinwheel.
After unlocking the Kite (plant), call a Genie to you by pressing and holding :l1: , then create a Kite. After a short animation, the trophy will unlock.
Feel the Thunder
Scare or delight your Genie with a Lightning strike.
After unlocking the Lightning design, call a Genie to you by pressing and holding :l1: , then create Lightnin. After a short animation, the trophy will unlock.
Is It Raining?
Watch your Genie hide under an Umbrella Plant.
After unlocking the Umbrella Plant and Rain designs, call a Genie to you by pressing and holding :l1: , then create Rain and an Umbrella Plant. After a short animation, the trophy will unlock.
Anyone There?
Watch your Genie talk into a Storm Lily.
After unlocking the Storm Lily design, call a Genie to you by pressing and holding :l1: , then create a Storm Lily. After a short animation, the trophy will unlock.
Don’t Eat Me!
Watch your Genie get scared by a Venus Fly Trap.

After unlocking the Iceberg design (endgame), call a Genie to you by pressing and holding :l1: , then create an Iceberg below him. After a short animation, the trophy will unlock.
Frozen Treat

Simply find a wall and paint something random without leaving the painting view for three minutes straight.
Starchild
Paint a total of 20 streams of Stars.
After unlocking the Stars design, simply find a wall and paint 20 streams. It doesn’t matter which stroking direction you choose or how big the streams are. This doesn’t need to be done all in one painting session.
Pyromaniac
Paint more than 10 Campfires in a row.
After unlocking the Campfire design, simply find a wall and paint 10 of them in a row. It doesn’t matter which stroking direction you choose or how big the campfires are.
What Does It Mean?
Paint a Double Rainbow.
After unlocking the Rainbow design, simply find a wall and paint 2 of them. It doesn’t matter which stroking direction you choose or how big or straight the rainbows are. This doesn’t need to be done all in one painting session. However, you will unlock this when taking care of one of the Billboards in the Hydroelectric Plant district.
Lunatic
Paint more than 10 Moons in a row.
After unlocking the Moon design, simply find a wall and paint 10 of them in a row. It doesn’t matter which stroking direction you choose or how big the moons are.
Festival Time!
Paint a total of 30 Mushroom Vines.
After unlocking the Mushroom Vines design, simply find a wall and paint 30 of them. It doesn’t matter which stroking direction you choose. This doesn’t need to be done all in one painting session.
Snow Season
Paint a total of 20 Blackbirches.
After unlocking the Blackbirches design (endgame), simply find a wall and paint 20 of them. It doesn’t matter which stroking direction you choose. This doesn’t need to be done all in one painting session.
Free Style
Paint in all the Free Paint levels.
After leaving the Lighthouse for the first time, the game will notify you that you now can play the Free Paint levels. First, play through the story or at least up to the end of The Waterways, then make a save, head back to the Main Menu and go to the Free Painting section. Here, launch any of the Free Paint levels, paint something random, and back out. Repeat for all the Free Paint levels and you’ll unlock this trophy in a matter of minutes. You don’t need to finish the levels as you could theoretically paint for hours and hours.
Living Photo
Use the replay feature in the Photo Mode.
At any point during the game, press :l3: and :r3: together to access the Photo Mode interface. Hit :square: to unlock the trophy.
I’m Back!
Continue painting after the game is finished.
After end credits, you’ll be brought back to the Main Menu. To unlock this trophy, simply hit Continue and paint something as soon as you’re able to.

Luna’s Secret
Find Luna’s secret under the Lighthouse.
After the story, go back to the Lighthouse. Approach Luna for a new painting request and then create the new Genie. Repeat this until you have met all of Luna’s painting requests. When you’ve drawn all three Genies, they will line up under the Lighthouse and reveal a portal leading you to Luna’s secret location. You just need to unlock the secret location to get the trophy, you don’t need to enter. Nothing happens here.

VR Trophies (DLC)

The VR mode is not needed for platinum, but it’s required for 100% completion. To play this mode you need to have PSVR and 2 Move Controllers connected. Then you can select “VR Experience” from the game’s main menu. This is a mode of its own and entirely different from the story. All you do here is paint on some walls in VR. There are 3 worlds that you’ll have to reach by painting more. The goal is to make all the lights at the ceiling light up in the first two areas (cave). Just paint something close to the lights so the bulbs turn on. When all light bulbs are on, you get a new pattern to paint and must turn the lights on again. After the cave, you’ll reach the last world “Crystal Meadows” which is a green meadow with lots of grass and trees. Beat this too by painting what’s shown in the book in your left hand. Then you get a golden key and unlock chapter select which you need for one of the trophies. The entire VR mode takes around 30 minutes to 100%.

Helloooo!
Wave at Splotch.
When you reach the third area “The Crystal Meadows” (green outdoors area). There will be a small red Genie running around in front of you. Wave both hands at him with the Move Controllers. He’ll wave back and give you the trophy.
Musical Genius
Paint Wind on 6 or more Pipe Organ Plants in one stroke.
This is done in the third area “The Crystal Meadows” (green outdoors area). As you fulfill the painting requests in this area (displayed in the book in your left hand), you’ll unlock more patterns to draw. You must fulfill all painting requests and unlock all patterns to beat the VR story anyway. The Pipe Organ Plants and Wind pattern are unlocked automatically in this area. See the trophy image for what the pipe organs look like. It’s among the very last patterns you unlock. Draw lots of Pipe Organs next to each other. Then choose the wind pattern (also an automatic unlock in this area) and hold the T-Button (Trigger) on the right move controller to draw wind over 6 Pipe Organ Plants in one brush. The Pipe Organs will make a sound and you also see a music-icon on the screen. When you hit 6 Pipe Organs with one drawing of wind, you get the trophy.
Crystal Artist
Paint Crystals in The Crystal Meadow.
After beating the third area “The Crystal Meadows” (green outdoors area), you will receive a golden key. This is actually the end of the VR DLC. The golden key allows you to replay chapters. You must replay “The Crystal Meadows”. Now you have a new pattern in your book, the “Crystal”. Paint one of these Crystals, it makes it so your drawings change their color. The Crystal will have a little purple orb on top of it that comes flying to you and infuses your brush with new colors. After you caught this purple orb the trophy unlocks.

Do all trophies required use VR? I don’t like VR because I prefer Dual shock 4 and other normal controllers (not into VR or motion or mobile or PC controllers). I own Sony PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Cheers.

Main game doesn’t require VR, only the 3 DLC trophies (not needed for platinum).

Peekaboo didn’t pop for me either, but I still have to do collectible cleanup and do a lot of the genie moment paintings so maybe I’ll get that random pop described here. I just hope I don’t have to replay the game for it. Even though it’s a short game that trophy’s in the final part, so not even sure I’d bother right away :/

Doesn’t affect the platinum but extremely disappointed that Concrete Genie has put a VR only trophy DLC set in a game where VR isn’t mandatory and the base trophy list is entirely non-VR …effectively stopping people without VR getting 100% #concretegenie @PlayStation

The guide does say that peekaboo! is not missable but I am currently at 98% waiting just for this trophy and it never pops up. Is there a possible way I can get it?

Then what do you suggest? New playthrough?

    • PowerPyx says

      October 8, 2019 at 3:56 pm

The best bet right now is to reinstall the game (completely uninstall it, then reinstall), back up your save games beforehand (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management). Delete all Concrete Genie saves before starting on reinstalled game. Then replay from scratch. Reinstalling often fixes trophy glitches.
According to the comments here, already 3 people reported issues and the game only came out hours ago. Seems to be a fairly widespread issue.

User “Linkinito” here in the comments mentioned that trophy popped randomly after story for no apparent reason.

Peekaboo popped at the spot with the two crates. Had several unsuccesful tries at the spot with the billboard.

Karaoke Night! popped at the first area of Denska with the yellow cart and call up your Genie to the wall opposite the spotlights in the middle. Worked as described. After teh “Oh, you wanna play?” dialogue switch on the spotlight and the genie starts singing.

  6. Linkinito says

    October 8, 2019 at 3:16 pm

I’m pretty sure that Peekaboo! is glitched. The scare part in the waterways didn’t pop the trophy for me, however I got it randomly while searching for the Genie moments after completing the game.

Also you can draw a tree and a genie will “hide” in it, prompting Ash to say something related to Peekaboo, but after trying a lot of stuff, you can’t make the trophy pop (letting him go, tickling him, saluting him…)

I had someone message me with possible alternatives for “Peekaboo” & “Karaoke Night!”. If someone wants to try, let me know if this works please:

Peekaboo: also doable next to the billboard in the sewers. You need to call the genie there, and once it wants to play, you hide behind the pillar.

Karoke Singer: in the first area, next to the cart puzzle. You need to call the genie to the wall, and turn on the spotlight that is there, in the middle. Then it unlocks.

Peekaboo method works! I messed around in that area by just calling the ghosts and by just walking around it popped. The billboard gives them the space to hide behind so I’m glad this can be unlocked outside the story.

So I logged in to my game again today and went to the hydroelectric area and picked a wall with no paint on it. I stood there and painted shapes (At least one shape from each landscape type) and just kept painting and around the 3:30 mark on my timer the trophy finally popped! I did not leave the game idle after painting I just kept changing shapes and painting slowly on the same wall. Hopefully something in there helps you get it too man. Hate when trophies glitch.

Another glitch, I can’t finish Luna’s requests. Did her paintings up to the green one outside, then completed the story. Now, in the aftergame, Luna stands in the same spot, but won’t give me her request anymore.

Tried everything, from restart, reloading and switching zones. Nothing helped. Pretty annoying, because Luna’s trophy is the only one left I need for platinum. 🙁

When it comes to glitches, we usually don’t have any solutions, but suggestions only. Try restarting the game or, at worst, reinstalling it. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to wait for a patch.

Okay I just got it 👌

I went into the starting area, called loads of genies to my location, then kept giving them what they wanted. One of them asked for an apple in a thought bubble and it was shortly after that when the trophy popped. One thing that might be worth a try is use your super paint as I also did that?

      I hope that helps!

I’m in the same boat! Post game, no genies to be found in waterways where the Genie moment is.

I had this problem, but after closing and opening the game it was solved. Genies showed up.

Anyone else dealing with stuck genies in the lighthouse during endgame? I need one final sketch using the lightning genie and he is like stuck in a window pane. Any way to get the genies in the basement area up to the ground floor?

For the Om Nom Nom Nom trophy
It works better if you have a genie you created from up to down paired with a genie you created from down to up. That way the lower genie will surely throw the Apple upwards towards the taller genie.

I can’t get dog, cat, dragon to pop! I’ve done ‘mop’ and sheep, and it’s not popping. Glitch? How can I create more genies?
