Devil May Cry 5 (DMC5) has 70 Collectible Locations (32 Blue Orb Fragments, 8 Purple Orb Fragments, 12 Secret Missions, 6 Blue Orbs, 5 Purple Orbs, 7 Weapons). The blue orbs are needed to upgrade your vitality (health) gauge to maximum and the purple orbs increase your devil trigger gauge. This collectibles guide shows all locations in each chapter for 100% game completion and the associated trophies or achievements.
- 32 Blue Orb Fragments (every 4 fragments are crafted into a full blue orb which gives you +1 health bar)
- 8 Purple Orb Fragments (every 4 fragments are crafted into a full purple orb which gives you +1 devil trigger)
- 12 Secret Missions (they are like hidden challenges. Beating the secret levels gives a blue fragment each)
- 6 Blue Orbs (purchasable from shop)
- 5 Purple Orbs (purchasable from shop)
- 7 Weapons (unlockable weapons for Dante, only one needs to be found in the world by yourself and the rest will unlock automatically)
None of the collectibles are missable! You can still find them after the story through chapter select. They can be found on any difficulty level. You can also replay missions immediately from the main menu if you know you missed something. It’s highly recommended that you get all collectibles on the first playthrough. Having more health and devil trigger makes subsequent playthroughs a lot easier and it helps with secret missions, too.
The blue and purple orb fragments are exactly what they sound like – they look like bright glowing orbs hidden around the chapters. The secret levels are the hardest to locate, they are indicated by red patterns in the environment and can be triggered by stepping in a red glowing dot nearby. Weapons are exclusive unlocks for Dante later in the game, only one in Mission 11 needs to be collected and the rest will unlock automatically.
In the top right corner of the main menu it shows how many orb fragments you currently hold. In total you can have 20 health bars and 10 devil trigger bars. By the amount of missing bars you can tell how many orbs are you still missing (and thus how many you have found). Secret Levels get listed in the main menu after finding them. You must also beat them, of course. They can be replayed in the main menu at any time.

NO COLLECTIBLES IN THIS CHAPTER!
Blue Orb Fragment #1:
After jumping down the broken bridge halfway through the chapter (after a cutscene), turn around immediately and you will find a blue glowing orb and a red “mantis” enemy behind you.
Blue Orbs #1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6:
Six blue orbs (not just fragments but full orbs) can be bought from the shop as soon as you reach Mission 02 (can still be bought at any point later in the game).
Orb 1 – 1500 Red Orbs
Orb 2 – 3500 Red Orbs
Orb 3 – 6000 Red Orbs
Orb 4 – 9000 Red Orbs
Orb 5 – 18000 Red Orbs
Orb 6 – 40000 Red Orbs
Blue Orb Fragment #2:
In the room where you pick up the 2nd Nidhogg Hatchling. After picking up the parasite, two enemies with scythes will spawn. Let them destroy the floor in that room. Then you can jump through the hole to a secret room below. Don’t kill the enemies until they created a hole in the floor for you.
Secret Mission #1:
Right after using the 2nd Nidhogg Hatchling to destroy the 2nd barrier in this mission that’s blocking your path, you will come through a bedroom. Here the game will give you a tutorial on Secret Missions (assuming you have the tutorial prompts enabled). In this bedroom you can see a big pattern painted on the wall by the exit door. Stand on the side of the bed and a red dot will light up on the floor. Face the pattern on the wall to make it light up in red color and you’ll be able to enter this secret mission. Here you simply have to defeat all enemies within 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Blue Orb Fragment #3:
Reward for beating the Secret Mission.
Blue Orb Fragment #4:
After obtaining the 3rd Nidhogg Hatchling but BEFORE destroying the 3rd Nidhogg barrier. After picking up the 3rd Nidhogg, turn around and face back towards the street. Across the street you will see a Devil Breaker on a raised piece of street forming a ledge. Above that you can jump through a broken wall into a house where this fragment awaits you. If you continue too far down the street it will break under you and you will be attacked by two Brutal berserker Hell Antenora. Once defeated head back up to this house to claim your fragment (before using Nidhogg to destroy barrier).
Blue Orb Fragment #5:
After using the Grim Grip in the beginning of the level for the second time Nero will land on a rooftop and a small cutscene will play focusing on the demon spire ahead and Nero will make a comment about starting at the closest one and needing to start somewhere. As soon as you get control of Nero look immediately to your right and jump up and over the rooftop ahead to the other side and turn around and face the direction you just came from and you will find this fragment on the rooftop nestled between a couple air conditioning units.
Secret Mission #2:
After destroying the third Blood Clot, the demonic “tentacles” that block the path will disappear. Now the section with the green emergency exit sign is open, go there. This room is just a long staircase leading up. However, for the secret mission we’ll have to jump down to the bottom. Here in an alcove you find the red glowing dot on the floor (just walk around the very bottom floor of the staircase area and you’ll find it). Once you located it, look up to align with the big icon further up the stairs. Here you have to kill a group of Red Empusa before they dig a hole to escape. The easiest strategy is to spam them with the Overture devil breaker.
Blue Orb Fragment #6:
Reward for Secret Mission #2.
Blue Orb Fragment #7:
Same emergency exit staircase as the secret mission. This one is at the very top. Walk up the stairs until you reach the top. The last staircase is broken. Go to the end of it, then turn around to find a platform behind / above you. Jump up there (via walljump). From this top platform you can shoot a blue grapple point with the revolver. Then latch on to the grapple point to be catapulted all the way up to a hidden area.
Purple Orb #1, #2, #3, #4, #5:
At the start of Mission 04, five purple orbs become available for purchase at the Customization Shop (full Orbs, not just fragments). You can buy them at any time when you’ve earned enough red orbs.
Orb 1 – 3500 Red Orbs
Orb 2 – 6000 Red Orbs
Orb 3 – 9000 Red Orbs
Orb 4 – 18000 Red Orbs
Orb 5 – 40000 Red Orbs
Purple Orb Fragment #1:
After the bridge with the train tracks falls apart, you will see the first purple orb fragment right in front of you. You basically walk into it as part of the story path, in plain sight. Also pick up the Nidhogg Hatchling outside, we’ll need it later to access the Secret Mission.
Blue Orb Fragment #8:
After the last collectible you’ll go out on a street. A huge fight takes place here and you get a tutorial how to use Devil Trigger Buffs for Shadow and Griffon ( + / + square: ). However, you’ll have to press / here instead (requires DT Gauge with 3 purple bars). This summons a Nightmare (big colossus that fights by your side). It will jump through a building to come to your aid. After the fight you can enter that building. This also unlocks the “Backroad” trophy or achievement.
Blue Orb Fragment #9:
From the last orb fragment, follow the path behind the house where your Nightmare broke through. Behind that house in a secret passage you find a Nidhogg Hatchling. Pick it up and then backtrack to the main path. Follow the main path until you see a Nidhogg barrier on the left side of the street. Use the Nidhogg hatchling to unlock the path, right behind it is a blue orb fragment.
Secret Mission #3:
Just left of where you picked up the last blue orb fragment, there’s yet another Nidhogg barrier. Use another Nidhogg Hatchling on it (which was found at Purple Orb Fragment #1 at the train bridge). Follow the path inside a building and jump to the top floor. At the broken window on the top floor is the red glowing spot for the Secret Level. Align with the symbol outside. The best strategy for this level is to collect all orbs from right to left in a circle motion. First grab the ones in the air to your right, then the ones in the middle around the tables, then the ones on the left so you end up where you started.
Blue Orb Fragment #10:
Reward from Secret Mission #3.
Blue Orb Fragment #11:
In the warehouse area. After fighting the first group of enemies in the warehouse you will drop down. Turn around immediately to find this blue fragment in an area with burning barrels.
Secret Mission #4:
Same area as the blue orb. After where you fought the first group of enemies in the warehouse and dropped down, you can see a container on the left side in front of you and when you look closely the pattern of the secret icon will light up in red on the wall. Summon the Nightmare / and it will break through the wall. Fight the enemies behind the wall and then walk up the stairs of the scaffold. At the top you find the red glow and need to look back where you came from. The task in this mission is to defeat all enemies without taking a hit, which is really easy to do with V’s Promotion skill. It lets you mount the Nightmare so enemies cannot hit you.
Blue Orb Fragment #12:
Reward from Secret Mission #4.
Purple Orb Fragment #2:
After fighting the big praying mantis enemy in the warehouse, in the next hall segment thereafter. It’s above the entrance to this hall. When you go for all red orbs here you’ll see it.
NO COLLECTIBLES IN THIS CHAPTER!

‘Nero’ Playthrough: NO COLLECTIBLES
Blue Orb Fragment #13:
After you see the first divinity statue (shop where you can buy skills), this will be straight in front of you in plain sight. It’s on a wall across a pit filled with enemies. Reaching this fragment can be a bit tricky. Use the devil breaker “Gerbera” and repeatedly press / to dash to the fragment. If you don’t already have a Gerbera you can buy one from the Divinity Statue for 500 Red Orbs. If you fall into the enemy pit the platform with the blue fragment will disappear. If that happens pause the game and select “Checkpoint” to respawn back at the divinity statue.
Secret Mission #5:
At the 2nd lava wall in the level (those that create rock platforms to stand on), you can jump off to the right side halfway up the lava stream. There’s a grassy platform to stand on. From here you can grapple on to some grappling points that are moving up and down to reach an opening on the other side of the room. Drop down the opening and you’ll find the red glowing orb between two red crystals. If you still have the Gerbera devil breaker equipped you can simply use that to dash to the other side halfway up the lava wall and don’t have to use the grapple points. Your goal in this secret mission is to shoot and hold on to grappling hooks without touching the ground. Use the double jump skill to adjust your trajectory where needed.
Blue Orb Fragment #14:
Reward for Secret Mission 5.
Blue Orb Fragment #15:
Just after exiting the Secret Mission and continuing on the main path you will reach another Bloodstream. BEFORE entering the bloodstream, circle around it to find a tentacle on its back. Kill the tentacle and then a blue orb fragment will appear in front of the bloodstream.
Blue Orb Fragment #16:
In the outside area where you fight the first knight in the level, on the left side behind some vines. It’s the area just before entering the catacombs / cave section. You must stand in front of the vines and summon a Nightmare with / . It will destroy the Blood Clot that powers the vines. Then the vines die and you can pick up this fragment.
Secret Mission #6:
In the same place where the last Blue Orb was. There’s a big pattern painted across the entrance where the vines were. Stand in the middle of the arch at the end of the area and face the way you came. This is one of the harder levels, you should go into it with at least 8 purple devil trigger bars. Start by summoning Nightmare and then buff your demons with + & + / + & + . This makes them deal a lot more damage. Now just spam all attack buttons to attack the enemies with everything you got. Your Nightmare will also be attacking. Be sure to destroy the enemies quickly with V when their health is depleted.
Blue Orb Fragment #17:
Reward from Secret Mission #6.
Purple Orb Fragment #3:
In the catacombs, shortly after you encounter the first group of enemies in a candle-lit corridor you will enter a room with a big hole in it leading down to the floor below. Drop down the hole and take care of the few minor enemies that appear here. Stand in the middle of the room looking out the door towards the outside and instead look to the left for a large wooden door. Use Nightmare / to break through the door. On the other side you will get ambushed by a mob of enemies, your reward for defeating them all is this fragment. When the enemies stop spawning you need to destroy the coffins in the room. This enemy encounter can often glitch out on Human difficulty and enemies stop spawning. If this glitches on you, replay on another difficulty setting.
Blue Orb Fragment #18:
Immediately after the Purple Orb Fragment, head outside to the well-lit corridor. Jump the platforms on the right side. Then at the top you will find this blue fragment. You may already have seen it earlier through a crack in a wall when you entered the catacombs.
Blue Orb Fragment #19:
When you come to the 2nd timed gate (the ones with teeth that close after a while), step through that gate and follow the path up. At the top you can jump off the left to find a blue orb fragment. This can also be seen from down below.
Purple Orb Fragment #4:
From the last collectible, get back on the main path until you see the next white crystal. To the right of this white crystal you can jump up inside a cave. Defeat all the enemies there and it will spawn a purple orb fragment as a reward.
Secret Mission #7:
You will come to a huge room that looks like it has green disco lights. You will fight a burning drake and big praying mantis enemy here. There are two timed gates (the ones with teeth) in the room. One on the left, one on the right. You must go through the teeth-gate on the right before it closes. It has a path leading upstairs, where you’ll find the red orb to activate the secret level. The way you beat this one is to first break the scissors of the witch enemy. This is best done with the Balrog weapon. 4 kicks should break one scissor on Human difficulty. The second scissor will take another 2-4 hits. After the scissors are broken the head of the witch will glow red for a moment. Shoot it once with your pistols to kill it.
Blue Orb Fragment #20:
Reward from Secret Mission #7.
Secret Mission #8:
When you enter the ruins of a building you must destroy 3 Blood Clots in it. After destroying the 1st Blood Clot you get a cutscene where a clocktower building moves. Immediately backtrack and jump back up where you came from (top floor). Here you find the red glow. You must face the pattern at the entrance of the ruins (where you entered the ruins). The goal in this one is to maintain an S Rank until the timer runs down. Alternate your attacks a lot, switch between different weapons, use ranged weapons between attacks, do a lot of air juggles. You can also enable auto-assist in the game options so it helps you with the combos automatically.
Blue Orb Fragment #21:
Reward from Secret Mission #8.
Blue Orb Fragment #22:
In the same ruins as before. On the bottom floor you must destroy the 2nd and 3rd Blood Clot. Then a passage opens and you’ll see the blue orb fragment right in front of you, easy to see (still on bottom floor).
Weapon – Kalina Ann:
Still in the same ruins as before. After destroying the 3 Blood Clots, do a little backtracking in the direction where you entered the ruins from. At the entrance of the ruins drop down one floor. Now that the vines are gone you can enter a new room that contains some red orbs and this weapon pickup. It’s on a green broken table next to a globe, hard to see.
Purple Orb Fragment #5:
In plain sight on the story path after fighting some burning drakes on a rooftop. Impossible to not see this.
Weapon – Cavaliere:
Automatic unlock at the end of the mission, cannot be missed.
Purple Orb Fragment #6:
You will come to a room with a big statue and two Nidhogg Hatchling Barriers blocking the exits. Go through the barrier on the bottom floor first and follow the path until you must destroy a Blood Sac (which will make the blood flow to the statue). Behind this Blood Sac, in a room on the right side, is a purple fragment.
Blue Orb Fragment #23:
Immediately after destroying the 2nd Blood Sac, step through the hole in the wall that the Blood Sac leaves behind and walljump up on the right side. There you find the blue fragment.
Secret Mission #9:
In the catacombs (passage below statue after filling it with blood), after jumping up the first pair of rocks turn around to see a platform behind you. To reach it, equip the Trickster (T) Stance , do a walljump followed by / . With the T-Stance equipped this will let you airdash far enough to reach the platform. There you find the red glow. Face the corridor on the main path to align the pattern. This secret level is easily beaten by double-jumping, locking on to an enemy, equipping the Cavaliere weapon and pressing / with it in the air. It will make you stay in the air forever by just repeating the same attack.
Blue Orb Fragment #24:
Reward from Secret Mission #2.
Weapon – Devil Sword Dante:
Automatic unlock at the end of the mission, cannot be missed.
Weapon – Dr. Faust:
Automatic unlock at the start of the mission, cannot be missed.

Blue Orb Fragment #25:
After the first cutscene in the mission you will be put in a shadow world. On the right side on top of a small mountain is the blue fragment. To reach it, walljump and press + / + in midair. This allows you to teleport up a little bit after the walljump. It’s tricky and may take many tries to get the perfect angle. Just try walljumping from different positions until you get it right.
An alternative way is to free Griffon first. Then stand on the mountain nearest to the orb fragment. Glide over by double-jumping and holding on to griffon, then teleport with + / + to cover more distance.
Purple Fragment #7:
After getting back your 3 shadow pets you will return to the normal world. Follow the path forward until you leave the purple cavernous area into the open area with bloodstreams. Follow the path until it forks a path to the left and a path leading to the first Blood Clot on the right. Run down the right path and destroy the clot and immediately return to this fork. Slowly start down the path to the left and you will see a red orbs crystal on the floor to the left. Immediately turn to your right and there is a small spot you can drop off the ledge and down to a platform below containing this fragment.
Secret Mission #10:
Immediately after destroying the 2nd Blood Clot, turn around to find this red glow. The pattern is facing the direction where you destroy the blood clot. To beat the level, jump off > attack, attack, attack > press + / + to teleport forward > hold / to use Griffon Glide. Landing exactly on the blue orb fragment is still a bit tricky and may take a few tries, you can’t let go off Griffon Glide too early or too soon.
Blue Orb Fragment #26:
Reward from Secret Mission #10.
Secret Mission #11:
During this chapter you can always decide between two different paths. It doesn’t matter which path you take because they always cross at the Divinity Statues (shops where you buy skills). At the 1st Divinity Statue is where we’ll find 3 collectibles. You must go BEHIND the divinity statue. There a mini cutscene will play that shows you a blue orb fragment at the top of a hill. Right now we will go for the Secret Mission though. Follow the path to the top. To do this the easiest option is with the Gerbera devil breaker equipped and pressing / to airdash up the ramps. At the top you will find the secret red glow on a cliff (which is just under the blue orb fragment #2). Beating this mission is best done with the Gerbera devil breaker equipped. Rush to the end of the level where the moving platforms are, double jump and use Gerbera to get up the right platform and repeat the same move to get up the mountain. Gerbera increases your jump height a little bit and lets you skip some platforms.
Blue Orb Fragment #27:
Reward for Secret Mission #11.
Blue Orb Fragment #28:
After exiting the secret mission, backtrack just a few steps and you’ll see a ramp with lots of red orbs on it leading further up. Jump on it and at the very top platform sits the blue orb that you saw previously in the cutscene. Use Gerbera (devil breaker) and press / to dash up there.
Blue Orb Fragment #29:
Right after the 2nd Divinity Statue in the mission, kill the next enemy group and a pad with a grappling hook will unlock in the room where you fought the enemies. Then you can use the grapple point on the right side of the room. Follow the path to find the blue orb fragment at the very end.
Blue Orb Fragment #30:
After dropping down the 2nd hole in this mission you will fight an armored two-legged toad-like enemy & two fire drakes (cannot be missed, mandatory fight). Immediately after this you can see an alcove straight ahead that is lit with blue light (whereas the rest of the area is lit in orange). Normally the game would have you just drop down, but we need to go through that blue alcove instead. There is only one little crumbling platform that you can jump on to reach the blue alcove. Be very quick as the platform falls apart after just a few seconds. So take that path through the blue alcove. Then drop down through the next hole and if done correctly you’ll get to fight two more of those toad-like armored enemies. Now drop down the next hole to the bottom. After that the blue orb fragment is straight in front of you! To reach it you need to use double-jump skill, strike 6 times in the air with Cavaliere weapon (press ), then with Trickster (T) Stance press to air-dash forward. It’s a very far jump but with this sequence of moves you can travel a long distance. Alternatively, you can activate your devil form (if it’s charged up) and simply fly over.
Secret Mission #12:
This is on the complete opposite path as Blue Fragment #1. It will require you to replay the mission, you can’t get this when going for the blue fragment #1! After you dropped through the 2nd hole in the mission and fought the armored two-legged toad-like enemy & two fire drakes (unmissable), you need to drop down the next hole below (DON’T go through the blue alcove that led to Blue Orb Fragment #1). Down below you have an enemy encounter with two wheel lizards and one berserk lizard. Once they are defeated look below you at the platforms leading down to the next hole. As you descend further keep an eye out for a crumbling platform with a large red orb tree at its base. Hop to this platform and get on to the stable group at the base of the orb tree. Destroy the tree and head into the hole in the wall. Look down at the platforms below and start to descend until you reach an alcove just ABOVE the ledge with another large red orb tree. Head to the back of the alcove to activate the red light and turn around to reveal the glyph on the wall and access this Secret Mission. The way you beat it is with Dr. Faust weapon equipped. By default you likely won’t get enough red orbs so buy the skill “Dr. Faust 3” first. Then equip Gunslinger Stance and attack with / . This will drain the red orbs from the enemy.
Blue Orb Fragment #31:
Reward for Secret Mission #12.
Purple Orb Fragment #8:
This is on the complete opposite path as Blue Fragment #1. It will require you to replay the mission, you can’t get this when going for the blue fragment! After you dropped through the 2nd hole in the mission and fought the armored toad-like enemy with two legs & two fire drakes (unmissable), you need to drop down the next hole below (DON’T go through the blue alcove that led to Blue Orb Fragment #1) and fight the two wheel lizards and one berserk lizard. Once they are defeated look below you at the platforms leading down to the next hole. As you descend further the purple fragment is on one of the solid platforms (not the crumbling ones). Just check all platforms very carefully as you descend. If you miss it you can restart checkpoint but it will bring you back to the section just after defeating the armored toad and fire drakes so you will need to fight the lizard trio again.
Weapon – King Cerberus:
Automatic unlock at end of mission, cannot be missed.
NO COLLECTIBLES IN THIS MISSION!
Weapon – Kalina Ann II:
Automatic unlock at the start of Mission 18 after cutscene.
Weapon – Double Kalina Ann:
Automatic unlock at the start of Mission 18 after cutscene, but ONLY If you already picked up the normal “Kalina Ann” in Mission 11 you get the Double Kalina Ann. If you haven’t gotten Kalina Ann yet, simply refer to Mission 11 above in this collectible guide for its location. When you pick that up on replay it will give you the Double Kalina Ann in Mission 11 instead of the normal Kalina Ann. The Double version has its own unique skill tied to it so it’s mandatory to unlock all of Dante’s skills.
Blue Orb Fragment #32:
After using the bloodstream and beating Shadow, you will jump up some cliffs and 3 bug-like enemies spawn that carry red crystals on their back. Defeat all 3 of them before they escape (digging a hole in the ground), then the blue crystal will appear. Beware, if you’re not quick enough just restarting the checkpoint won’t work as these enemies do not respawn. You’d have to restart the entire mission from scratch to make them respawn. It’s best to keep some Devil Trigger for these 3 enemies.
NO COLLECTIBLES IN THIS MISSION!
NO COLLECTIBLES IN THIS MISSION!
That’s all of the collectible locations in DMC5. Congrats if you found all of them. If you missed something you can get it easily via chapter select or pick it up on your next playthrough.
