A Plague Tale Requiem Trophy Roadmap
- Estimated trophy difficulty: 3/10
- Approximate amount of time to platinum: 20-25 hours
- Offline Trophies: 36 (1, 4, 9, 22)
- Online Trophies: 0
- Number of missable trophies: 3 Sneaky , Fighter , Malignant – maxing out all Skills (Prudence / Aggressive / Opportunism) is semi-missable. Which skill you gain XP for is based on the percentage of enemies you kill per encounter. You can’t max out all Skills in one playthrough. The Skill Progress carries over into 2nd playthrough New Game+ but there is no 3rd playthrough New Game++. So if you finish New Game+ but didn’t max out a Skill you would have to replay parts of the game via Chapter Select (it resets your progress to what you had at the start of the Chapter and you must replay everything from there). This is explained in Roadmap Step 2, no need to worry about Skills on the 1st Playthrough, they will all increase automatically without trying, depending on how many % of enemies you kill during an encounter. Then in 2nd playthrough you adjust your playstyle until you finished one skill, then readjust your playstyle to max out the next skill.
- Glitched trophies: Everything is obtainable, but there are some reports of the trophy tracker for Explorer breaking and it doesn’t unlock the trophy. Reinstalling the game and recollecting the Chests via Chapter Select might help to fix it. There are also some reports of Old protector not unlocking when it should, but reinstalling the game and redoing the trophy should fix it.
- Does difficulty affect trophies?: No, can do everything on Narrative difficulty (Easy)
- Minimum Playthroughs: 2 (one on Narrative difficulty, one New Game+ to max out remaining Skills)
- PS4/PS5 Autopop & Save Transfer: No, there is no PS4 version, the game is PS5 only
- PS4/PS5 Crossbuy: No, there is no PS4 version, the game is PS5 only
- Level Select after Story?: Yes, there is Chapter Select after the story. Everything can be replayed via Chapter Select. Everything carries over into New Game+ (Collectibles, Skills, Upgrades, anything related to trophies). You can get all Collectibles via Chapter Select, none of them are missable.
- Release Date: October 18, 2022
Introduction
Welcome to the A Plague Tale Requiem Trophy Guide! This is the second game in the Plague Tale series, a story-driven experience that takes about 15 hours to complete on the first playthrough and another 5-10 hours spent in New Game+ to fully level up all Skills. Two playthroughs are necessary because it’s impossible to max out all skills in a single run. There are 43 Main Collectibles consisting of 21 Souvenirs, 12 Hugo’s Herbarium Entries (in the trophy list they are the 5 Flowers and 7 Feathers), 10 Secret Chests. However, to open the Secret Chests you also need Knives and to fully upgrade your gear you need Tools. There are 16 Knives and 24 Tool Chests, those are technically Collectibles too. Even though they don’t have their own trophies they are still needed for other trophies. It’s recommended you grab the Collectibles on the first playthrough and play on Narrative difficulty (Easy) because on higher difficulties and New Game+ there are fewer Knives for opening Secret Chest Collectibles. After the first playthrough you should have all trophies except the Skills, which we will focus on in the New Game+ playthrough. It’s a relatively linear game with a straightforward trophy list.
Step 1: Play through Story on Narrative (Easy) Difficulty, Get All Collectibles
For the first step simply complete the Story while getting all Collectibles: 21 Souvenirs, 12 Hugo’s Herbaria (called 5 Flowers and 7 Feathers in trophy list), 10 Secret Chests, 24 Tool Chests for the upgrade-related trophies, 16 Old Protector’s Items. It’s highly advised to play on Narrative difficulty (Easy) because it spawns more Knives, needed to open the 10 ‘Secret Chest’ Collectibles. At higher difficulties you may find yourself locked out of some Collectibles due to not having enough Knives. New Game+ also spawns fewer Knives which is why it’s better to do Collectibles on the first playthrough.
You can follow the guides below, these All-in-One guides include all Trophies and Collectibles in chronological order to get everything in one playthrough:
- A Plague Tale Requiem: Collectible Guide (includes all collectible types)
Or if you prefer a complete Story Walkthrough step-by-step to guide you through puzzles:
- A Plague Tale Requiem: Walkthrough (includes full story walkthrough + all collectible types)
Important things to keep in mind:
- [IMPORTANT] DON’T use Knives against enemies! Knives are one-use only and instantly break if used to kill an enemy. This would leave you unable to open the 10 Secret Chest Collectibles, they require 1 Knife each. Sometimes you automatically use a Knife to defend from a killing blow, if this happens restart checkpoint/section immediately. If unsure, check the Item Wheel (bottom right corner) whether you still have a Knife or not. Try to always keep 1 Knife for the next Secret Chest Collectible! The Knives are included in the Collectible Guide & Walkthrough. If you reach a Secret Chest but don’t have a Knife, you must use Chapter Select to replay everything from the last Knife location onward.
Anything you miss can be gotten via Chapter Select. Keep in mind that Chapter Select only tracks Souvenirs and Hugo’s Herbarium (called “Flowers” and “Feathers” in the trophies but “Herbarium” in-game). The following are NOT tracked in Chapter Select: Secret Chests, Knives, and Tools.
General Note about Progression Bugs: Sometimes there can be game-breaking progression bugs such as not being able to interact with a mandatory story item. If the game seems bugged, you can double-check in the Walkthrough how it’s supposed to work. If it is indeed a bug, replaying the Sub-Chapter via Chapter Select almost always fixes it. You don’t need to replay the entire Chapter, only the Sub-Chapter.
Step 2: New Game+ Playthrough to finish All Skills
The only trophies you will have left after the 1st playthrough are for maxing out Skills. It’s impossible to max out all 3 skills in one playthrough because there are not enough enemy encounters in a single playthrough. That’s why a second playthrough in New Game+ is necessary.
To start New Game+ go to Title Screen > press to see Saves > press on completed story save to start New Game+. It won’t overwrite your old save. It creates a new save slot, you can still go back to your old save to use Chapter Select if needed.
Check your Skill progress as soon as the “Skills Menu” becomes available during Chapter 2 (after 1st enemy encounter that has an archer). Finish the remaining skills throughout New Game+. They always increase after enemy encounters. If you want to compare your progress before & after each encounter you can take a screenshot of the Skills Menu. If the skill you need didn’t increase, replay the last encounter via chapter select and continue from there. The skill progress is entirely based on how many enemies you kill during an encounter. Killing none or very few gives Prudence, killing all gives Aggressive, killing only half gives Opportunism.
- Prudence = Kill 0-30% of enemies during an encounter by any means (any weapon / type of kill is allowed). It’s best to stay in stealth, complete a section without being seen and without killing anyone. Then you will always get Prudence skill after the encounter.
- Aggressive = Kill 71-100% of enemies during an encounter by any means (any weapon / type of kill is allowed). It’s best to get spotted intentionally, then kill all enemies in an encounter. For enemies with helmets, try to lure them into tall grass and shoot Ignifer at the grass to make them burn, or use chain reactions in the environment to burn them. Later you can also use the crossbow to kill them. The last crossbow upgrade for unbreakable bolts is very useful, allows you to pick up the bolts again from enemies you killed.
- Opportunism = Kill 31-60% of enemies during an encounter by any means (any weapon / type of kill is allowed). It does not matter if you are in stealth or open combat, you are allowed to get spotted. It’s best to count the exact number of enemies per encounter, then kill exactly half of them and you will earn Opportunism after the encounter. Only the number of kills matters, not how you kill the enemies.
Some players might need a nearly full playthrough to max out the remaining skills, others might only need to replay half the game. If you are still missing a Skill after this playthrough, you must use Chapter Select to replay from a point with many enemy encounters. It resets your progress to what it was at the start of the Chapter, meaning you can’t “farm” Skills by replaying the same Chapter repeatedly. You’d have to replay everything from that point on and then get the skill maxed out by the end of the game. It gives progress to only one Skill depending on how many enemies you killed in the encounter. Unfortunately, there isn’t a New Game++ to carry over your progress into a third playthrough. If you are already too late into the game it may become impossible to complete a remaining Skill, then it’s better to start replaying from Chapter 3 onward, this time focusing exclusively on the 1 missing Skill.

There are 5 pieces of equipment you can upgrade: Sling, Crossbow, Gear, Instruments, Alchemy. It costs 6 Tools and 175 Pieces to fully upgrade. Each equipment piece costs the same amount to fully upgrade. You can upgrade these at workbenches, or via the ‘Upgrade Menu’ if you bought the 2nd Instruments skill that lets you craft upgrades without a workbench.
In a single playthrough you can fully upgrade 4 pieces of equipment if you search thoroughly, meaning you will likely only have 1 left to upgrade. Because you need to do a 2nd playthrough in New Game+ to max out all Skills anyway, you can easily combine it with remaining equipment upgrades. Alternatively, an easy trick to get all upgrade trophies is to save up a total of 6 Tools and 175 Pieces. Fully upgrade one thing to pop the trophy, then immediately close the game. Boot it up again and you will have your Tools and Upgrade Pieces back, now repeat for the next equipment. This way you can pop all 5 upgrade trophies in a row and then don’t have to worry about collecting any more pieces. Sling:
Crossbow (unlocked during Chapter 5):

For a complete list of all Tool Chest locations refer to the Collectible Guide below (the Chests also contain Upgrade Pieces): |

Night guard Extinguish 40 fires |
||
In Chapter 3 you automatically learn how to craft “Extinguis”. After this you can craft it via the item wheel. It lets you extinguish flames with your sling and with thrown pots. As “fires” it counts any fire source that keeps rats away, including torches carried by enemies, lanterns, braziers (bonfires), and others. It also counts when you use checkpoint restart and repeatedly extinguish the same fires until the trophy pops.
You will likely get this through natural gameplay without even trying. But if you don’t have it after the story, a good place to farm it quickly via Chapter Select is Chapter 3: Sub-Chapter “At the edge of the city”, Objective: “Reach the herbalist’s forest”. There are many braziers and also guards carrying torches. Craft “Extinguis” and throw it at the guards and the braziers. When you run out of ammo, let the rats kill you and repeat until the trophy unlocks. You can even light up the same fire again with Ignifer and then use Extinguis on it, rinse and repeat. |
||
Alchemist Craft 100 ammunitions |
||
For this you must craft 100 ammunitions of any type (Ignifer, Extinguis, Tar, Odoris). You unlock the different ammo types gradually throughout the story. It also unlocks if you use checkpoint restart. This is guaranteed to come on your way to platinum because you will need 2 playthroughs and have to craft quite a lot to advance for story purposes.
Ammo is crafted in the item wheel > select the type of ammo > hold to craft it (requires resources from chests). |

There are 3 passive “Skills” in the game: Prudence, Aggressive, Opportunism. You can check the progress in the “Skills Menu”, unlocked during Chapter 2.
It’s impossible to max out all 3 skills in one playthrough because there are not enough enemy encounters in a single playthrough. That’s why a second playthrough in New Game+ is necessary. Perfect shot Shoot all the pine cones |
||
Chapter 1: Under a New Sun / Sub-Chapter: A Long Journey In Chapter 1, after you finish playing hide and seek with the two boys, you will go to the river with Hugo. There he will throw pine cones in the water and you must shoot them all with your sling. The very first pine cone can’t be shot, you only pull out your sling after it sinks. But after that one you must shoot all the rest. Stand behind the tree branch on the left side of the river, the one Hugo mentioned marks the border of his “kingdom”. From there look upriver, hold for 1-2 seconds to aim and to shoot. The trophy unlocks after the cutscene where the other boy throws a big stone in the river that splahes Hugo. If you failed, you can quit out to the Main Menu and replay the first subchapter. Unfortunately, choosing “Restart section” via the pause menu won’t work because it makes an autosave immediately after the pine cone minigame. |
||
Perfect throw Successfully complete all throws in the Crowns game |
||
Chapter 8: A Sea of Promises / Sub-Chapter: Celebration of the brighter days Shortly after leaving the ship at the start of the chapter you will come to a market square. Go to the exit of the market (normal story path, can only go one way), then at the first opportunity go down the first staircase on the left (instead of heading straight). There you find a little market stall with a vendor offering a pot throwing minigame, that’s the “Crowns game” required for the trophy. You must throw all 4 pots through the hanging “crowns” AND hit the colored tarp behind each. From left to right: 1) Yellow > 2) Purple with Green > 3) Orange > 4) Brown. If you hit the wall behind the crowns, but not the colored tarp, it may not unlock the trophy correctly. After finishing the minigame you also earn a Souvenir. |
||
Old protector Interact with all the old protector’s items in the sanctuary |
||
Chapter 9: Tales and Revelations / Sub-Chapter: Phoenix The Sub-Chapter ‘Phoenix’ of Chapter 9 consists entirely of visiting the Sanctuary and interacting with the Old Protector’s Items. It’s the only thing you do in this Sub-Chapter and mandatory for story purposes. However, for story purposes it’s not mandatory to interact with every single one of the Old Protector’s Items. Most are optional. For this trophy you must interact with all 16 Old Protector’s Items. You will go through a series of rooms, they are listed below with the interactables in each one: Room 1: If for some reason it doesn’t unlock or you couldn’t interact with an item you can repeat it via Chapter Select. |
||
Mercy Don’t kill the guard on the docks |
||
Chapter 4: Protector’s Duty / Sub-Chapter: Obligatory cooperation In Chapter 4, you will come to the docks where you must cooperate with a soldier to advance. There’s a wheel on the left you can spin, a lot of rats in the area below with a green pit, and a drawbridge on the right side. To get the trophy you have to lower the last drawbridge for the soldier at the end, then when he talks to you shoot him with Ignifer to burn his clothes and also sling Tar at him to make the fire burn brighter which gets rid of the rats so you can escape the area. This will stun the soldier but doesn’t kill him. Just don’t use Extinguis which would result in the rats killing the soldier. The entire section is one long puzzle, here’s a complete Step-by-Step guide from the start of the Sub-Chapter to the end:

Hi all,
proud to present you another complete Day-1 Trophy Guide 🙂
Beautiful game with nice trophy list. Enjoy!
GPAP360 says
How sure are you about the Chest counting if you open it via Chapter Select?
I only opened the first one on chapter 3, then completed the game whitout open anyone more and now when i select the most near point to open the chest the trophy stats on PS5 interface stay on 1/10.
Will check what happends after open the 10 via Chapter Select…
PowerPyx says
On PS5 it 100% counts via chapter select. It’s how I did it myself, got 2 chests via chapter select. Also for a friend of mine the trophy popped when he went back to get missing ones via Chapter Select.
In the trophy tracker it also updates the number when you get them via Chapter Select.
Update: the trophy tracker is now confirmed to be glitched for some players. Reinstalling the game and recollecting your missing ones will fix it.
GPAP360 says
Well, maybe something if buged on my run / user, because i opened everyone again whit Chapter Select and the amount still on 1/10.
Is my last trohy left so will try it again in a new save after delete the current one.
六等星 says
same here? 2 runs,reinstall doesn’t work.
I’m gonna try on my other ps5 console? such a pain!
Noc says
Why Secret Chests are not tracked via chapter select? So for example, if I miss a Secret Chest in chapter 3, I need a new full playthrough and get all 10 Chests in the same playthrough?
PowerPyx says
No, can get them via Chapter Select. No need for new playthrough.
They just don’t appear in the Collectible tracker in the Chapter Select screen (they still count for the trophy if you get them via Chapter Select).
d3mystic says
Thank you for the guide. So looks like 2 playthroughs are needed no matter what you do, unlike the first where to upgrade everything to max you needed to do a 1.5 walkthrough OR a single playthrough but with meticulous searching for upgrade materials. Is that right?
Anonymous says
Thank you for the trophy guide. Looking forward to playing this game when I eventually get a PS5.
falsaai says
I can’t wait to start this game. Thank you very much for your continuous hard work!
D says
Hi great guide as usual.. Thanks
If you do a normal run difficulty can you start NG+ on a story difficulty for mop up
Thanks
PowerPyx says
NG+ is set at the highest difficulty. You can’t play on Normal/Easy in NG+.
But you could still mop up missing chests there if you want.
Matthew says
So just clarifying, all collectibles including the chests can be done using chapter select? No collectibles are missable?
PowerPyx says
Correct, no Collectibles are missable. All can be done via Chapter Select.
Nico says
Wich is the rate of knives in normal difficult? I’ don’t enjoy the game in easy mode. Thank you for your help!
Maxis says
Is it a Good Strategy Playing the Story First as We Like and Then Do The Collectibles, Skills on the New Game+ ?
PowerPyx says
All this is answered in the Roadmap.
Soul of Cinder says
So it’s impossible to get all the secret chests in the first playthrough on normal difficulty? That’s some high level of BS if true.
PowerPyx says
It’s probably still possible but it would be harder and the knife spawns would be different (some missing), so the Collectible Guide won’t fully apply to you. If you absolutely want to, you can play on Normal, and if you can’t open a chest due to missing knife you can replay chapters on Narrative later to get what you missed. On Narrative you have more knives than you need (16 knives on narrative, but only 10 needed for chests, so there are 6 extra knives on Narrative).
It’s basically like shivs in The Last of Us. On higher difficulties it had fewer crafting materials, and you needed the shivs to open locked doors. In Requiem it’s knives to open secret chests, but same principle.
Mr_PaNtsONh3aD says
There is a bugged trophy “Old protector” Had to do it 6 times before it popped and I know 2 others that had same problem.
PowerPyx says
Will keep an eye on it if other people have issues with it. Personally, and for the people I talked to, it worked without any issues.
I had someone tell me that it popped early after interacting with only the 14 objects downstairs. The weird one is interacting with the floor upstairs because it’s not really an “object” like the others.
maxxdank says
I’m on PC but It popped up when I observed the see-through floor from upper room.
xDrDeath says
Does”invincible mode” in settings disable trophies?
Philip Munn says
I’m pretty sure that you CAN GET all trophies with “Invincible Mode” on.
Axel says
Your description for your skills trophy on Opportunism is wrong. If you go to the skills tree in the game, the aggressive skill description clearly says you can kill enemy’s immediately with fire and rats. So you have to do this to count it towards the aggressive (combat) skill. On the first encounter I testet it. Complete stealth counts towards stealth. Killing two enemy’s with the slingshot and not getting spottet counts towards Opportunism. That’s why it was „bugged“ out for you, you used the wrong attacks.
Axel says
Basically pure stealth for stealth, the first one.
Rats and fire and open combat for the second, combat.
And slingshot and alchemy for Opportunsim, the third.
PowerPyx says
Does this consistently work for you in every enemy encounter?
I had tested what you said but for me it counted doing slingshot kills + staying in stealth towards the stealth skill. This all seems a bit random and broken depending on the enemy encounter. A friend of mine sent me his trophy unlock clip and he killed enemies with the crossbow when the trophy popped, but when I try that it counts towards aggressive.
Alchemy kills are also sometimes counted towards Aggressive. The part you mentioned about fire would explain that though. I’ll do some more testing in different encounters shortly.
Additional feedback much appreciated on this.
Axel says
It works until now.
At chapter 4 after the mercy trophy my highest skill was Opportunism. Stealth the lowest. I also unlocked „strong fire“ early. This boosts Opportunism as well. For me, keeping stealth whilst killing enemies with alchemy increased it. But I think it’s as you said, it’s really random. A friend of mine had the same issues and couldn’t increase opportunism. I can’t figure it out how this works…
PowerPyx says
After more testing, it has nothing to do with Alchemy at all.
It’s all based on the percentage of enemies you kill during an encounter.
0% killed always gives Prudence
50% killed always gives Opportunism
100% killed always gives Aggressive
The reason it seemed like Alchemy is tied to Opportunism is that: A) the skill rewards are tied to crafting/alchemy while other skills give rewards for stealth/combat, B) Using only environmental traps for chain reactions naturally leads to only killing half the enemies (e.g. in encounters where only some enemies have torches, only killing those with Extinguis and leaving others alive would mean you only killed about half).
Axel says
This!! Makes sense! I guess I was just lucky with the increasing of opportunism. I will back up my save file and test it myself. But this really could be it. So much thank you for sharing!
Rodolfo says
The fully upgrade the gear trophy is bugged for me. I got all 3 upgrades and it didn’t pop. Any workaround?
Rodolfo says
Guys after upgrading all of my gear, all 5 trophies popped for me at the same time. If you guys don’t receive the trophy for upgrading one of these to the max, just make sure all 5 of them are at level 3 and all 5 trophies will pop.
jerry says
I am little nervous about the passive skill trophy. I am currently in Chapter 9 and I only just reached level 1 in my Alchemy passive skill but level 2 and 3 the other. (I try the method you mentioned every time I had chance to do so, still only this few exp)I am worry if i could max out the alchemy skill in NG+. What more I can do to gain more Alchemy exp?
D says
Hi
Have noticed that my trophy tracking for Explorer seems to be glitched.
Its showing 20% 2/10 when I have been tracking the number of secret chests I have found. Im up to Chapter 8 and found 5 so but trophy is only showing 2.
Anybody else seeing the tracking of this trophy bugged ? Thanks
PowerPyx says
I’ve seen some other comments about this. So you’re not alone, there are some cases of the trophy tracker breaking.
You can try reinstalling the game. Sometimes it’s due to an issue during the trophy set install. Reinstalling the game can fix issues like this.
Nanaxo says
Anyone know what how much of opportunism can you do in one playthrough if you fully focused it? I finished the game with only one skill in opportunism and around 30% of the way into the second one. Maxed aggressive and almost done with prudence, i was wondering if NG+ would be enough to finish opportunism or if I need to start a fresh save for it since i barely have any progress on it within this save.
PowerPyx says
I had Opportunism about 60% done after first playthrough.
If you have very little progress on it you might not be able to finish it in NG+. It’s hard to say for sure because the game is a bit finicky with how it awards XP to specific skills. Probably safer to start over in a New Game and focus on Opportunism from the start.
James6453 says
Feel free to add to the guide, you can NOT kill every enemy in an area with skills associated with opportunism and expect the skill to raise. Killing all enemies will raise the Aggressive bar, despite how you kill them. If you want to raise the Opportunism skill bar, you need to allow a couple (maybe just 1) enemy to live. Powerpyx, I suspect that is why you and others were locked out of gaining any more towards your skill bar on the NG+ run. You were probably trying to max out each encounter to finish it off, and carefully used tools to kill each enemy, not realizing that would force all exp to go to Aggresive.
PowerPyx says
You’re right.
After more testing, it has nothing to do with using Alchemy at all.
It’s all based on the percentage of enemies you kill during an encounter.
0% killed always gives Prudence
50% killed always gives Opportunism (count the enemies per encounter and kill exactly half of them)
100% killed always gives Aggressive
I’ve updated in the guide.
I’m crediting you and another user from PSNP “Optinooby” who also helped figure it out (see credits at bottom of guide).
James6453 says
I’ve been doing more testing. Up to 70% gives Opportunism. 75% it goes to aggressive.
So we know the cutoff to aggressive. Don’t know about Prudence.
Boobytrap says
For anyone having issues with the Explorer trophy: reinstalling the game does indeed fix the tracker glitch. I had 2 chests opened, but only 1 got registered towards the trophy. I redid both with no change to the tracker. After the reinstall, the tracker updated by itself, I didn’t even have to do anything in the game. I hope that helps.

At first: Thanks at all for figuring out how to exactly increase the skills. Even thou I think it’s ridiculous that the developers thought this could be a good idea…
Second, on which skill should we focus first? I got several encounters in which it was impossible to go for a certain skill. So I’m worried that in NG+ it could be an issue if you have already maxed out a specific skill, that you shouldn’t.
PowerPyx says
On first playthrough it doesn’t make a difference on which skill you focus first. Basically, you have a certain number of enemy encounters per playthrough. Each encounter gives a fixed amount of XP which is ALWAYS assigned to one of the 3 skills. What this means is you always get the same overall progress on skills in the first playthrough, just the distribution between skills will differ.
On the 2nd playthrough, it’s best to focus on Opportunism first. The reason is that there are a few mandatory stealth + combat sections where the game forces you to kill nobody / kill everybody, so in those sections you are always guaranteed to be awarded progress towards the Prudence/Aggressive. But there’s no section that would force progress towards Opportunism, so better to get that out of the way.

Thank you so much for this detailed explanation. It’s reasonably to do it this way. I‘ve also tested it in several combats and it’s exactly how you and James6453 figured out.
Thank you for your great work and effort you put in this. I always use your guides for trophy hunting. Although I’m from Germany and English isn’t my native language, Powerpyx is the best and you are one of the reasons I’ve learned English. Keep on the good work!

I’m on NG+ in chapter II, just entered the arena. For some reason, the dialogue with Lucas about him spotting the symbol of the order above the door doesn’t trigger and I can’t interact with the door in order to open it and proceed. I’ve tried restarting the section, skipping/not skipping the cinematic at the beginning, allowing Lucas to go in front of me and even restarting the game. Nothing seems to work, is anybody else having this issue? If worked perfectly fine on my first playtrhough.

So I am also having issue with the explorer trophy, so do I just recollect every chest again with chapter select after reinstall or only the ones it doesn’t seem to collect? I already collected all the chest and it only shows 8/10 on my trophy tracker. That is the only trophy I have left till platinum and it’s bothering me haha. >:( any suggestion would help
PowerPyx says
I saw someone saying they only needed to recollect one via Chapter Select and it popped. But worked fine for me the first time so I can’t confirm it myself, additional confirmation appreciated 🙂
Boobytrap says
I had the same issue, but the reinstall totally fixed that. As a matter of fact, I didn’t even have to redo any of them. The tracker updated by itself after the reinstall.

When you collect something trough chapter select. Can you back out to the main menu right away or do you need to finish the whole chapter/wait for a save point for it to be registered?
Majury says
For the upgrading equipment trophies. What I did was upgrade all equipment to level 3, then collect 90 scrap. Once you’ve got 90 scrap, you wait until you hit a checkpoint and upgrade one, reload section, upgrade another etc etc. I know this is easily obtained on New Game +, but you can at least run through, not having to search for scrap.

I’ve encountered some issues with the Perfect Shot trophy. Apparently it will not count in New Game Plus if you’ve upgraded your sling at all. And you have to apparently shoot all the pinecones before the cutscene triggers with Tonin firing the “cannon”. This has been annoying but I’m saving it for last.

Issue with the Explorer trophy….it’s my last one and it says 10% even tho I opened like 6/10 chests. Uninstalled the game and reinstalled, tried to open 2 chests via chapter select, it still says 10%…I’m pissed and idk what to do

I’m playing the game on Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, the issue on PS5 with secret chests not counting for the trophy in chapter select is also present on Xbox. I am at 80% progress and the achievement tracker is stuck after opening the remaining chests. Currently it appears that the only way to guarantee the achievement is to get all the chests on your first playthrough. If you don’t, you would have to reinstall and play the whole game again until the last chest.

Thank you so much for the detailed guide! Just got my platinum trophy today without any trouble.
My secret chests did count with chapter select (PS5).
Had to play in new game + until chapter 7 (Felons) to upgrade all my skills.

I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned this, but the Explorer trophy counter was stuck for me at 6/10 but in my first playthrough I got 9/10 chests because I didn’t have enough knives for both chests in chapter 9 part 3 so went back with chapter select and got the one I was missing and the trophy popped.
Charlie says
Pretty dumb that you can only carry 1 knife at a time for the secret chests. At least in TLOU you could carry up to 3 shivs for the shiv doors.

Does invincible mode lock you out of trophies?

If you fail on the pine cone section in ch. 1 for the perfect shot trophy, you can quickly quit to menu and then select continue. It will bring you right back to where you need to stand behind the branch. No need to replay from beginning.
