By the Fates is a Side Quest in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This walkthrough shows how to complete the quest.

Region: Pilgrim Hill, Kythera Island
Requirements: having finished “I, Diona”, Pick Your Poison, The Handmaiden’s Story, All Bonds Will Break, Atoll Order & In a Rush
Reward: 24.000+ XP, 700+ Money, Cultist Clue
Objectives:
- Meet and Talk to the Handmaiden at the Villa
- Kill the Order Guard ambush (x/3)
- Interrogate the Handmaiden
- Reach the Altar and deal with Diona
- Kill Diona
- Talk to the High Priestess
By the Fates Starting Location
After having met Diona earlier and having done all her errands, she is finally willing to spill out everything she has on the Cult of Kosmos. We’re all ears…
She wants us to meet at the Villa not too far away to be in a more private space. You’ll have the option to romance her here, so why not…
Kill the Order Guard ambush
Seems like the tables have turned. When we wake up, Diona is long gone and has sent a small troop of soldiers to get rid of us. After all, Diona was a Cult-member all along and knows about our ambition to decimate them – so that is why she wants us out of the picture first
Once you have dealt with the soldiers, talk to the handmaiden on the roof, who will give us Dionas whereabouts. Time to put an end to this!
Reach the Altar and deal with Diona
When we arrive at the Altar, we have a bit of a situation there. Diona is there and so is her sister Eritha, the Priestess. So far, we had only spoken to her through locked doors, so we couldn’t know that they’re twins!
Once prompted, who to kill, choose the woman on the right. If you choose left, you will kill the Priestess, thus losing a clue to other Cult-activities and have to face the real Diona plus guards directly after that.
Confirm the kill and
talk to Eritha after that. She’ll be thankful that you have cleared Kythera Island from the Cult and gives us a clue about another Cult-member.

This is no longer true. Clicking the one on the right was incorrect in my second save. CLICK THE LEFT! The clues will hint towards Diona, the cult leader, being on the left as she keeps telling you to KILL the “fake” Diona. Everywhere I look says to choose the right. I’m guessing Ubisoft changed somethings.

Update: My game is doing the same thing with both options. Just keep a save file before hand. This is my third time choosing different options with the same result.
