Introduction

Welcome to the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Trophy Guide! You’re in for an easy but time-consuming platinum trophy. Odyssey is the biggest Assassin’s Creed game yet. Luckily, this time there are no “real” collectibles and you do NOT have to 100% complete all locations. Just the 42 underwater locations need to be completed. There is technically one missable trophy “Aphrodite’s Embrace” for sleeping with a character but there are many opportunities for it. There are 5 Questlines tied to trophies, 4 World Bosses, 42 Cultists to kill, 10 Mercenary Tiers to rank Up, 5 Arena Matches, 20 Side Quests for a Gold Trophy, 20 Message Board Contracts, reaching Level 50, fully upgrading the Ship, and some miscellaneous tasks. You can work on all of these simultaneously as you play through the story. It’s worth noting that the gender you pick and dialogue choices you make don’t impact trophies and won’t lock you out of anything. So you can enjoy the Odyssey how you like without having to worry about this stuff.

Step 1: Beat the Story (40 Hours)

Enjoy the game any way you see fit on whatever difficulty you prefer. There are no difficulty-related trophies. It doesn’t matter if you pick the male or female character, it doesn’t affect any romances or trophies (just changes some dialogues and cutscenes). Your choices don’t impact trophies either. Pick whatever dialogues you want in story- and side quests, they can impact the game ending but it has no effect on trophies and won’t lock you out of anything important. It doesn’t matter if you pick “Guided Mode” or “Exploration Mode” at the start of the game, but the Guided Mode is recommended as it’s easier and lets you earn the platinum faster. You can switch between the modes at any time (Guided shows you waypoint markers for quests, Exploration won’t give a clear marker most of the time).
The story takes 40-50 hours depending on how much time you spend doing side quests and already working on other trophy tasks. You can do a bit on everything as you play through the story. The reason the story takes so long is that there are huge level gaps between main quests. So you’re forced to take on other tasks for XP. Only some endgame stuff (world bosses, high-level cultists, arena) can’t be completed until the endgame. After the story there’s free-roam and you can keep working on what you have left.

Look out for “Aphrodite’s Embrace” (sleep with a character) since it’s technically missable, but there are lots of opportunities for it. It’s also recommended to accept all Contracts at every Message Board you come across. These will auto-complete from natural gameplay thus yielding lots of free XP and counting towards the Misthios in Training trophy.

Step 2: Do All Trophy-Related Questlines (2 Hours)

There are 5 Questlines tied to trophies:

  • Master of the Hunt: Complete the Daughters of Artemis questline.
  • Everybody Benefits: Complete Markos’s questline.
  • Trust Me, I’m a Doctor: Complete the Hippokrates questline.
  • A Pirate’s Life for Me: Complete Xenia’s questline.
  • Going For Gold: Complete the Olympic questline.

Refer to the trophy descriptions for their starting points. You can already do these during the story as soon as you have a sufficient level.

Step 3: Visit All Sub-Regions & Complete All Underwater Locations (7 Hours)

For “Herme’s Homie” you must clear the gray fog from the map and step on every little island (even the very tiny ones that have no gray fog and are part of island groups). As you do this, you can already work on the 42 Underwater Locations to save travel time. The map is really huge and it will take a couple hours to reveal everything. For underwater locations always use your eagle and press :l2: to reveal the underwater objects. This makes them easy to find.

» Assassin’s Creed Odyssey All Underwater Locations (Map)

Step 4: Finish the Arena & Become First Mercenary (2-4 Hours)

The Arena is found in Pephka, the island in the south-east of the map. You must become champion by beating all the enemies including the level 50 fighter. At Level 46 you have decent odds but below this you die very quickly.

To become first Mercenary you must track and kill the mercenaries who have a higher rank than yours (Mercenaries Menu). If you kill lower-ranking ones it won’t do anything. Whenever you kill a higher-ranking mercenary you gain one spot in the ladder. When you track a Mercenary from the menu it puts their location marker on the map. Some are also from the arena, which is why this ties in with the Arena fights.

Step 5: Find Atlantis & Kill the Four World Bosses (3 Hours)

If you haven’t already, go do Side Quest A Family’s Legacy (Thera Island) as it leads to Atlantis. This quest unlocks after Main Story Quest “United Front” in Sequence 7. As part of the Atlantis questline you must defeat the 4 World Bosses: Minotaur, Cyclops, Sphinx, Medusa. Refer to their respective trophies. Medusa is Level 50 but you should be able to kill her when you’re Level 46. All the bosses are tied to lengthy questlines that require a high level, refer to the trophy guide for the starting points.

Step 6: Defeat All Cultists (3 Hours)

Cultists are the hostile faction in the game. In the Cultists Menu you can click on them and it shows how to reveal their location. Some are from side quests, for others you can buy clues or find them in the world, and yet others are tied to the story. Once you have the clue you can track the Cultists on the map and kill them. Because some are tied to the final story mission(s) you have to beat the story first.

Step 7: Reach Level 50 (2-4 Hours)

By now you should be very close to Level 50. If you haven’t used XP boosters you are probably level 47 and must grind out the last levels. Play side quests until there are none left and then keep farming Conquests or fight in the Pephka Arena. Combine them with Contracts from message boards for fast XP. After Level 45 the Pephka Arena is the fastest way for XP. After beating the 5 champs, new enemies spawn that are all level 50. You get 70,000XP per Level 50 Arena Match and they only take 2 minutes.

Step 8: Fully Upgrade your Ship Adrestia (4 Hours)

You probably have some ship upgrades left. You must farm resources by sinking other ships, from hunting animals, and by finding Ancient Tablets. The Tablets are exclusively found at Ruins  and sold by some blacksmiths (this is rare). Complete all Ruin Locations (hidden behind Question Marks on Map) and if you need more Tablets, go from Blacksmith to Blacksmith and buy them. There are far more Ancient Tablets in the game than you need to fully upgrade the ship.

» Assassin’s Creed Odyssey All Ancient Tablet Locations (Map)

Step 9: Cleanup / Miscellaneous Trophies

By this point the only things you might be missing are miscellaneous tasks like finding the Cyclop’s eye from a goat in Kephallonia or maybe you still need 20 tasks from message boards. Whatever you have left should be very quick to complete and the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Platinum will be yours!

Make It Your Own
Engrave your first item.
You unlock Engravings automatically as you level up and from finding new legendary weapons / armor. Go to any Blacksmith and pick the “Engrave” option. Pick a weapon or armor piece you want to engrave and then pick the improvement you want. Engravings increase certain damage types by a few percent. Engravings allow you to specialize in stealth, ranged, or melee combat. It costs a few materials. The materials can be bought from blacksmiths directly or you can find them by completing locations on the map, looting ships at sea, or find them in the open world.
You Work for Me Now
Recruit and assign a Legendary NPC for your ship.

Legendary NPCs are usually the Captains / Polemarchs at enemy Forts. I found legendaries frequently at Fort Tiryns in Argolis region. You can use your eagle to see if an enemy is legendary. Press  to use eagle view and :l2: to scan the enemies. In the top right corner it will show the NPC rarity. The ones you want are colored Yellow. Simply go to a Fort and scan everyone before attacking. To recruit the NPCs you must knock them out. Either use the Sparta Kick skill as the finishing blow or unequip your weapon in the inventory to fight with bare fists. You can use weapons to weaken the enemy, just the final hit must be from bare hands / sparta kick.

When the enemy is knocked out, stand over them and press :l3: to recruit. You cannot do this while in combat. If other enemies are still alive, kill them, then you can recruit the knocked-out enemies.

Lastly, open the ship menu, click on Special Lieutenants and hire the NPC for a little bit of money.

Shiny!
Acquire and equip your first Legendary item.
You automatically earn your first legendary (yellow) item at the end of Sequence 2. It’s a Legendary Sword called “Nikolaos’s Sword”. Equip it in the inventory and the trophy will unlock.
I am Legend
Equip 1 Legendary melee weapon and 5 Legendary armor pieces.
Legendary Armor / Weapons are colored Yellow in the Inventory. The main way of getting them is from killing Cultists. There are 42 Cultists and each one of them drops a Legendary gear piece. A few are also rewards from the story, side quests, and randomly dropped by mercenaries and other enemies. You cannot sell or dismantle legendary gear hence there’s no way to miss out on this. A legendary weapon is given to you at the end of Sequence 2. Then keep killing Cultists until you have an armor piece for each slot (Head, Arms, Torso, Waist, Feet).
Are You Not Entertained?
Become Champion of the Arena.

You must beat all 5 Enemies in the Arena. The last one is level 50 but you can beat him at level 45 with good gear. At level 50 he’s easy enough to do.

Do note that just beating the level 50 arena champ is not enough. You must beat all 5 enemies.

Arena Location (Pephka Region, the big island at bottom right side of map):

Demigod
Reach Level 50.
The main way of leveling up is by doing side quests, conquests, arena fights, and message board contracts / bounties. By completing the story you will likely end up at level 37-40. Then you need to keep doing side quests which should bring you to level 45. For the last 5 levels it’s best to farm arena matches in the Pephka Arena. After defeating the 5 champions, new level 50 champions will spawn (simply talk to the arena manager again). They give 70,000XP per match and it only takes 2 minutes. If you don’t have a high enough level for the Arena yet, try Conquest battles (when you’ve uncovered the map there’s usually one or two going on somewhere). In total this will take roughly 50 hours (around 1 hour per level-up). Luckily, it goes hand-in-hand with other trophy-related tasks. At message boards always accept a lot of contracts simultaneously. They are small gameplay tasks that will auto-complete as you play (e.g. sink 5 pirate ships). Often times you’ll get very similar (or identical) ones that stack and combined with other tasks will net some free bonus XP.

Godly Power
Acquire a Tier 3 active Ability.
First you must upgrade the Spear to Tier 5 by killing Cultists for their Artifact Fragments. Then upgrade the Spear at the Ancient Forge on Andros Island. There’s even a story quest for this called “Upgrade the Spear”. Also see trophy “The Cult Unmasked” for info on Cultists.
Legacy Restored
Upgrade your Spear to Tier 6.
For this you must kill ALL Cultists for their Artifact Fragments. Then upgrade the Spear at the Ancient Forge on Andros Island. There’s even a story quest for this called “Upgrade the Spear”. Also see trophy “The Cult Unmasked” for info on Cultists.
Top of the Food Chain
Become the first Mercenary.
Reach Mercenary Rank 1 to unlock this trophy. To see your rank, go to the “Mercenaries” tab in the menu. You increase your rank by killing Mercenaries that are further up the ladder than you. However, you only gain 1 position per higher-ranking mercenary kill. So you can’t just kill someone who’s tier 2 and take their place — you’d only gain 1 position in your tier.

To find the mercenaries, click :x: on them in the Mercenaries Menu and :x: again to track them. It will put a waypoint marker on them so they’re easy to find. You have to keep higher-ranking ones until you’re Tier 1 at the top of the ladder.

The Cult Unmasked
Defeat all the Cultists of Kosmos.
There are 42 Cultists in the game. They are the enemy faction (like Templars were in old games). In the Cultist Menu you can click on their silhouettes and it will show a clue how to unlock their location. Often times they are tied to side quests and the main story (e.g. if it says “help people around ??? to reveal cultist”, it’s from a side quest in the named area). The best strategy is to beat the story first, then clean up what you’re missing. This is because so many of them only show up in story missions and there’s literally no way to kill all of them until after the story. If a Cultist is greyed out and you can’t find him, odds are it’s story-related.

When pressing :x: on the Cultist it shows you how to unlock their location. So after the story you’ll want to follow those clues to reveal the remaining ones. After defeating all cultists in a branch, it unlocks one in the inner circle. Defeat all in the inner circle and the final master cultist will unlock.

The cultists drop Artifact Fragments that are used to upgrade the Spear to Tier 6 and they also drop Legendary Gear.

For all Cultist Locations refer to the guide below:

» Assassin’s Creed Odyssey All Cultist Locations

Stink Eye
Recover the Cyclops’s eye from a goat on Kephallonia.

First you must have beaten Sequence 1 of the story. At the end of the Sequence you encounter a boss called “Cyclops”. There’s a funny cutscene in which your character puts the Cyclop’s eye in a goat’s rectum. You can later find this eye again. Simply return after Sequence 1 and kill some random goats anywhere on Kephallonia (the starting region). After 10-20 goat kills it will drop. Be sure to loot the goats after killing them. It’s a random drop so some players may need more kills and others fewer. Goats are literally everywhere in that region and the eye can be dropped anywhere on the island. They’re easy to kill with the bow from afar.

Hermes’s Homie
Unveil all sub-regions of Greece.
*GLITCHED*

This trophy requires you to fully remove the gray fog from the map and visit each sub-district of each region, including small unnamed islands and all water. Big regions are split into multiple smaller districts which have a gray “fog of war” on the map. Make all the gray fog go away. You just need to visit each place for a little moment. You must also uncover the entire Ocean Map (except a little piece in the north-west that’s outside the playable area and cannot be reached).

What makes this tricky is that there are many small islands around the map. You must step on EVERY small island. Even if they don’t look grayed-out or seem part of an island group, you MUST step on each one. For example, there’s a tiny island south of Samos to which you’d never have to go. It’s not grayed-out on the map but counts regardless – same for all other tiny islands.

Be very thorough and make sure that you truly step on each tiny island even if it doesn’t look grayed-out or doesn’t have a name on the map. All of them are needed. You receive some XP when stepping on the islands, that’s how you know they counted. The 4 Mysterious Sites from the 4 World Bosses are not needed.

To avoid confusion: You don’t need the Questions Marks “?” on the map. Just step on each island / visit each sub-region.

Glitch Warning!: Some regions don’t register properly when you visit them. The good news is the trophy is obtainable and will unlock sooner or later but it might randomly pop hours after you’ve been to every place (the tracking is way off). For some players it popped while they were running around main regions they had visited many times. If you’re sure that you have everything, but no trophy popped, reinstall the game (delete it from PS4 and install again)! Then go visit all regions and small islands again. If still nothing unlocks, keep playing and it may unlock randomly after 10 hours or so while running around the map. The last resort would be to unistall the game once again, delete all AC Odyssey save games (PS4 Settings > Application Saved Data Management), reinstall the game, play until you have the ship and uncover all regions again from scratch.

In Perseus’s Image
Defeat Medusa.

For this you must complete Side Quests “Romancing the Stone Garden” (Lesbos Island) > “Love’s Long Shadow” > “Hard to Artemis” > “Heavy is the Spear” > “Keys to Happiness?” > “Writhing Dead”. Medusa is the endboss of this questline, found in the Petrified Temple on Lesbos. All of these quests take place on Lesbos Island, which is a high-level edgame region. Medusa is a level 50 Boss so you should be at least Level 46 to stand a chance. Beat the quests and you’ll get to fight her.

Romancing the Stone Garden Starting Location:

A-maze-ing Victory!
Defeat the Minotaur.

For this you must complete Side Quests “Myths and Minotaurs” (Messara Island) > “Of Minotaurs and Men” (Messara Island) > “He Waits” (Messara Island). The Minotaur is the endboss of this questline, found in the Labyrinth of Lost Souls. Simply beat the quests and you’ll get to fight him.

Myths and Minotaurs Starting Location:

Eye on the Prize
Defeat the Cyclops.

For this you must complete Side Quests “A God Among Men” (Kythera Island) > “Left to Dye” (Kythera Island) > “Stairway to Olympos” (Kythera Island). As part of this questline you will find the Cyclops Boss on the Forgotten Isle (he’s not accessible outside of this quest). Do note that this has nothing to do with the Sequence 1 Story Boss that has the same name. The Cyclops of this questline is an actual high-level one-eyed monster.

A God Among Men Starting Location:

Riddle Me This
Outwit the Sphinx.

For this you must complete Side Quests “A Family’s Legacy” (Thera) > “Lore of the Sphinx” (Boeotia Region) > “Awaken the Myth” (Boeotia Region). The earliest you can do this is in Sequence 7 after main quest “United Front”. A Family’s Legacy will bring you to Atlantis. After discovering Atlantis you unlock the Lore of the Sphinx Quest. Unlike the other 3 world bosses this one is not an actual fight but a series of 3 questions that must be answered correctly.

The tricky part: the questions are different every time. They are selected from a pool of 12 possible questions.

The correct answers can be: STARS, TREE, FISH, HUMMINGBIRD, SUN, MEMORY, MOON, MOUNTAIN, SPIDER, TIME, DEATH, RIVER.

» Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – All Sphinx Riddle Solutions

If you mess up you get killed and have to answer a new set of questions. It’s important that you remember your answers (or write them down). After the 3 questions you must press 3 buttons corresponding with your answers. If you press a wrong button you get killed and have to start over.

A Family’s Legacy Starting Location (Sequence 7 after main quest “United Front”):

Lord of the Seas
Fully upgrade the Adrestia.
The Adrestia is your ship. It has the following upgrade categories:

  • Arrow Volleys (4 levels)
  • Javelin Throws (4 levels)
  • Fire Braziers (4 levels)
  • Arrows (4 levels)
  • Ram (6 levels)
  • Javelins (4 levels)
  • Hull (6 levels)
  • Rower Stamina (4 levels)
  • Crew Armor (3 levels)

The upgrades require resources. The core materials Iron Metal and Olive Wood you get mostly by sinking ships. Soft Leather you get mostly from hunting animals. The fastest way though, is to dismantle gear you no longer need. Dismantling Gear gives a lot of materials quickly. Ancient Tablets are the really annoying ones, they are only found at Ruins  and are sold by some blacksmiths.

The best strategy to get Ancient tablets is to:

1.) Uncover the whole map and then visit every blacksmith in the game and buy up all their Ancient Tablets. Not every blacksmith sells them. In fact, it’s relatively rare that they do.
2.) Loot Ruins, they are the only place where you find Ancient Tablets apart from Blacksmiths. They aren’t found anywhere else. Ruins are marked by a red icon on the map:

The good news is that you don’t have to loot all Ruins in the game. There are a lot more Ancient Tablets than you need for all upgrades. See the below link for all their locations.

» Assassin’s Creed Odyssey All Ancient Tablet Locations (Map)

The Argonauts
Fully crew the Adrestia with Legendary Lieutenants.
This requires you to “equip” 4 Legendary (Yellow) Lieutenants in the Ship Menu.

First, you must upgrade the Ship Hull to level 4. Each upgrade unlocks one more Lieutenant Slot = 4 total. The upgrades require some materials that you get by destroying ships, and the Ancient Tablets are from Ruins  and also sold by some blacksmiths.

Now you obviously still need the Legendary Lieutenants (Yellow Color). Legendary NPCs are usually the Captains / Polemarchs at enemy Forts but also show up in form of Mercenaries who hunt you.

Bonus Tip: One Legendary Lieutenant “Evie” is from Ubisoft Club (for free). Another is for beating the story.

Master of the Hunt
Complete the Daughters of Artemis questline.

The Daughters of Artemis questline starts with side quest “The Daughters of Artemis” in region “Phokis” (sub-region “Sacred Lands of Apollo”). It is given by an NPC called Daphnae. She asks you to kill a boar.

You must do her following quests:

  • The Daughters of Artemis
  • Kallisto the Bear
  • The Erymanthian Boar
  • The Hind of Keryneia
  • The Kretan Bull
  • The Krokottas Hyena
  • The Lykaon Wolf
  • The Namean Lion
  • Artemis’s Request

Questline Starting Location:

Everybody Benefits
Complete Markos’s questline.

Markos’s questline starts with side quest “A Business Opportunity” on the island “Kos”  (sub-region “Highlands of Asklepiades”). It starts by finding Markos in a cage inside the enemy fort, where the quest marker is. You must free him and carry him back to his house to continue the questline.

You must do his following quests:

  • A Business Opportunity
  • Old Friends, Old Problems
  • Farm in Flames
  • Protect Markos

Questline Starting Location:

Trust Me, I’m a Doctor
Complete the Hippokrates questline.

The Hippokrates questline starts with side quest “Hunting Party” in Boeotia region. I was able to do this in Story Sequence 7 when the story took me to that region. If it’s not there you must get really close to trigger the symbol on the map (within 20-50 meters) and be sure to clear all other side quests in the region first.

Hippokrates’s questline consists of the following:

  • Hunting Party
  • Let My Patients Go
  • Inheritance Insurance
  • Too Much of a Good Thing

Questline Starting Location:

There are some reports of this quest being bugged / Hippokrates not giving the quest. User KingKiller has found a potential solution: Outside the town where the mission is, there’s a Boar elite spot. Kill the boar and the quest hunting party may spawn.

A Pirate’s Life for Me
Complete Xenia’s questline.

Xenia’s Questline starts on Keos at the start of Sequence 7 with her side quest “Birds of a Feather” (note: you meet Xenia in Story Sequence 5 but her questline requires you to proceed to Sequence 7).
You are given multiple treasure maps by Xenia but only one of them is correct. The way this normally works is that you check all maps in the inventory against your world map to track down which could be the real spot. Simply refer to the linked guides below for the solutions. If she doesn’t offer the “Birds of a Feather” quest in Sequence 7, be sure you do all other side quests around Keos including “Lost and Found” in which you meet Xenia’s brother on an island.

Questline Starting Location:

Refer to the Quest Walkthroughs linked below for All Treasure Locations:

  • Birds of a Feather
  • Sacred Vows
  • She Who Controls the Seas
  • Throw the Dice
  • Priceless Treasure
Going For Gold
Complete the Olympic questline.

The Olympic questline triggers automatically during Sequence 7, after main mission “Kings of Sparta”. It can then be selected from the questlog, no way to miss this! It requires you to deliver a champion to the Olympics but in the end you fight in the Olympics yourself.

The Olympic Questline consists of the following Quests:

  • Delivering a Champion
  • The Contender
  • The Long Game
  • Pankration
Scourge of the Aegean
Sink your first Epic Ship.
Epic Ships have a yellow crown-icon on them. You will randomly encounter them while sailing on the sea. The golden icon on them makes them stand out from the rest. They are rarer than normal ships but during your travels will encounter plenty of them. After incapacitating the ship, shoot it again to sink it.
Blood Sport
Defeat a Mercenary in the Arena.
The Arena is found in Pephka Region. Talk to the Arena Host and check if there’s a Mercenary (guy without level) listed below the 5 champions. The mercenaries aren’t always in the arena unfortunately. By default you have 5 champions going up to level 50. Below the level 50 boss champ should be the mercenary. If the option is not available you must come back later. Just check in from time to time or try increasing your wanted level.

These fights are very short – you just face one single mercenary in the arena. Just like you normally do when they chase you.

Arena Location (Pephka Region, the big island at bottom right side of map):

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Upgrade the Adrestia for the first time.
See trophy “Lord of the Seas”.
Fashion’s Creed
Equip a Legendary Armor set.
You get the full Artemis Armor Set by doing “The Daughters of Artemis” Questline, see Master of the Hunt Trophy. After you’re done with that questline, equip the Artemis Armor Set in the inventory to unlock this trophy.
Aphrodite’s Embrace
Spend the night with another character.

During certain dialogues in main- and side quests you can pick dialogue lines with a Heart-Icon on them. Always pick those, they will lead to romances. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing the male or female, you can sleep with all characters regardless.

For example, at the end of Sequence 4 in Main Quest “Perikle’s Symposium” you go to a party and can sleep with Alkibiades. Pick the dialogue with the heart-icon “Let’s Get These Clothes Off” after getting oil for Alkibiades.

Another easy way to get this early in Sequence 3 is by doing side quest “Age is Just a Number” in Phokis (Grand Mount Parnassos sub-region). It requires you to loot a deer and a bear which are both found in the same region as the quest. At the end of the quest, when returning to the quest giver pick the dialogue with the heart on it “Let Me Satisfy You”. Then the trophy pops after the resulting cutscene. See quest location in image below:

Special note for Middle East version: In the Middle East version of the game same-sex romances are disabled and this trophy has fewer opportunities (many romances are limited to flirting only). One way to get it in this version is to sleep with Thaletas when playing as Kassandra.

One Head Down…
Defeat a full cluster of Cultists of Kosmos.
See trophy “The Cult Unmasked”.
Birthright
Discover Atlantis and speak with Pythagoras.

To find it you must complete Side Quest “A Family’s Legacy“. This Quest triggers automatically after Main Mission “United Front” in Story Sequence 7.

That means it’s an automatic story unlock, no way to miss it. It’s one of the tricky quests in the game, refer to the Walkthrough below for an in-depth solution:

» Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: A Family’s Legacy Side Quest Walkthrough

Ramming Speed
Cleave a ship in half.
Deplete an enemy ship’s health until it’s disabled but don’t board it. Then ram into it in the middle at full speed (hold :x: to speed up). This will tear the ship apart in the middle.
I Have the Power
Perform an Overpower Attack with every weapon type.

First you need the skills “Warrior Ability: Overpower Attacks”  & “Hunter Ability: Overpower Bow Strike”. Only the first tier of the skills is required. Once you have the skills, press :r1: + :r2: to perform an overpower attack (consumes 3 full Adrenaline segments).

You must do this with the following weapon types:

  1. Sword
  2. Dagger
  3. Heavy Blunt
  4. Heavy Bladed
  5. Staff
  6. Spear
  7. Bow (requires Overpower Bow Strike skill)

(There’s also a Bare-Handed Takedown when you unequip the weapons from inventory but it’s not needed for the trophy)

War Master
Kill the Leader of any Region with Low Resources, other than Megaris.

This requires you to bring down a region’s Power Level (Purple Bar on Map) to zero and only then kill the leader of the region.

Hover over any region on the map and it will show a purple bar in the bottom right corner. It can say fortified (3 bars), weakened (2 bars), vulnerable (1 bar). You must make the purple bar go away completely.

To do this:

  • Kill soldiers from the faction in power (see colored outlines around the region – Red = Sparta, – Blue = Athens).
  • Burn War supplies (found at forts and leader houses)
  • Pillage the Nation Treasure (found at forts).

To find War Supplies and Nation Treasure more easily, use your eagle to scan enemy forts and look for the purple icons. Supplies can be burned down with the torch (hold :right: ).

Only after the purple bar on the map is gone you are allowed to kill the leader. The leader is marked on the map by a gray or purple icon.

I did this on Kos Island because it’s a very small region and fast to complete. Just go to all the question-mark icons on the map to reveal the forts, leaderhouse and other points of interest that let you lower the power level.

Note: This doesn’t unlock in Megaris region (the first story region where you must play conquest battles).

Misthios in Training
Complete 20 Bounties, War Contracts, or Naval Quests from Message Boards.
There are message boards in every town of every region. They always have a few random bounties, quests etc.

The easiest way is to just accept all of them and a lot will complete automatically through natural gameplay. Contracts are things like “sink 5 pirate ships” or “loot 5 resource crates” which will easily complete as you play. You can fast travel from one message board to the next and accept all the available contracts. Sometimes you even get duplicates and things that can be combined quickly.

In the questlog you can keep track of all accepted Contracts and Bounties. If you select one it will pin the requirement to show you what to do.

Island Hopper
Complete 20 Quests on Pephka, Obsidian and Abantis islands.
Complete 20 Side Quests (not message board bounties / contracts) in the following Regions:

  • Pephka = The right half of the Messara Island in bottom right of map
  • Obsidian Islands = Hydrea + Melos.
  • Abantis Islands = Euboea + Skyros

Uncover those areas fully and synchronize the viewpoints then you’ll see all side quests on the map.

For the Obsidian Islands it’s recommended to do the side quests of Hydrea first as doing the one on Melos will make them unavailable. Either way it’s fine though, there are 20 quests even if you miss the ones on Hydrea. But in that case you must also finish the 5 fights in the arena because it counts as a quest. If you do the Hydrea quests first you have 23 quests total and can skip a few.

So don’t forget about the arena quest on Pephka (becoming champ), it counts towards this trophy too but doesn’t have a side quest marker on the map.

Infamous
Raise your Bounty to the maximum level.
Your bounty is displayed in the bottom right corner via 5 helmets. Level 5 is the highest bounty level that you must reach for this trophy. Simply cause a lot of havoc in a region, fight lots of enemies and stay in battle for a long time to raise the bounty. The fastest way is to go to a big enemy fort and keep fighting the enemies for a few minutes. Obviously, don’t pay off your bounty and don’t kill the bounty-issuer as those would reduce your wanted level again.
Hero for Hire
Win your first on land conquest battle in any region (excluding Megaris in Hero’s Journey).
Conquest Battles can be started after you bring down a region’s power to “vulnerable” (1/3 purple bars in bottom right corner of the map). The earliest opportunity is in Sequence 3, because Megaris (where you have your first story-related conquest battle in Sequence 2) does not count for this.

Hover over any region on the map and it will show a purple bar in the bottom right corner. It can say fortified (3 bars), weakened (2 bars), vulnerable (1 bar). You must make the purple bar go to 1/3.

Only after the purple bar on the map has dropped to 1/3 you can start the conquest battle. A blue and red flag will show up on the map. Pick the attacking side that says “hard” difficulty and successfully win the battle by killing the enemies quickly.

A trick to farm conquest battles: Uncover the whole map first — there will frequently be conquest battles happening somewhere on the map. This way you can farm these easily without having to bring down a specific region’s power level.

Wrath of the Amazons
Cleave a ship while having an all-women crew.

Step 1: Get a Female Crew (Cosmetic Ship Skin). There are multiple of these in the game, here are the easiest options:

  • Get “The Assassins (Female)” from Ubisoft Club for free, it just requires a Uplay account. In map menu press LEFT and then click on Ubisoft Club.
  • Find “Bandits (Female)” at the underwater location “Sunken Wreck of Datis”, south-west of Delos Island.
  • Beat the Olympian Questline (Going For Gold Trophy)
  • Beat The Daughters of Artemis Questline (Master of the Hunt Trophy)

Step 2: In the Ship Menu, select the Female Crew Cosmetic Item in the bottom right corner. Leave the lieutenants blank (no female lieutenants required for this).

Step 3: Disable a ship at sea. Shoot it until it’s disabled but don’t board it. Ram it at full speed at its center (hold :x: on PS4 / :a: on XB1 to speed up). This breaks the ship in half.

You get two trophies / achievements for this! One for cleaving a ship in half and another for cleaving it with a female crew.

The Midas Touch
Engrave a Legendary Item with a Legendary Effect.
Whenever you get a new legendary weapon (yellow color) you also unlock its engraving for use with other legendary weapons. First you need two legendary (yellow) weapons. Then go to a blacksmith and engrave one weapon with the other’s bonus attribute. It also works with armor but not all engravings are compatible between armor pieces. With weapons you have more choice. The engraving will cost a few resources. In the blacksmith’s menu click Engrave, scroll down to the yellow engravings, and put one of those in your weapon (or armor).

Playing with male or female character doesn’t change the romance trophy, right?

I made another update and added that dialogue choices don’t affect trophies and don’t lock you out of anything important (just for Aphrodite’s Embrace pick the heart dialogues).

So you can enjoy the game how you want without having to worry about this stuff 🙂

Hey man, great guide thanks for posting this as soon as embargo broke YET AGAIN. Wanted to say that on the road map you put “step 3” two times (for sub-regions and then again step 3 for the arena), so it’s actually 9 steps instead of 8.

Re-iterating what others have said, thanks for the hard work you consistently put into this for us.

For once, I’m actually going to ask a quality of game question > a trophy one. I always get a bit nervous when there are gaps in the game, and you have to grind out levels etc. to do the next thing. Do these “in between” moments where you go and complete side content fun, or do they feel like a necessary chore to move on?

I, of course, appreciate some of this is weighted in subjectivity, but if its just fetch quests to pad out a 40-50 hour story I’ll probably hold off until a significant sale!

Thanks for the nice words 🙂

I felt that there was too big of a gap between main mission levels. I was stuck in Sequence 7 for 3 days because it’s so long and I had to level up forever (10 levels difference between quests). Eventually I ran out of side quests and this forced me to explore new high-level regions.

It depends how you look at it. In one way, it pushes exploration and side quests (which are generally quite funny and the world is awesome, that’s the game’s strong suit). On the other hand, it can feel a bit of a chore if you just want to move on with the story. As a trophy hunter I don’t mind because I would be doing these tasks anyway and it all ties in perfectly. Just from a story-telling standpoint I found this confusing because I was leveling for a day and met a hundred NPCs in between. Then the story got a bit jumbled. Most of the side quests are entertaining so it’s all right but they should have stuck to 2-3 levels difference and not 10 levels between quests.

    Two questions about the game:

    – Can you get all skills and upgrade all multi-tier skills to level 3, all at once without resetting points?

    – If I go for every question mark on the map, will I get the world map trophy? Or are there places with no question marks that are needed for the trophy?

    Reply
    • PowerPyx says

      October 1, 2018 at 10:47 pm

For 1) No, there are not enough skill points to max out everything. But you can reset skill points at any time and there are enough to buy every skill but not to get each one to tier 3.
For 2) No, some small islands have no question marks or named locations on them (but you must step on these tiny islands for the trophy of uncovering every sub-region).

I suggest that the trophy “A Pirate’s Life for Me” could be glitched. Since I meet her after the main story, There has no quest icon on her therefore I’m not able to accept any side quest from her. When I try to talk to her the only sentence she said is “good luck with your search”. I thought I’ve accepted her side quest by chance, but unfortunately i haven’t. So the situation is I can’t accept quest from her, I’ve never accepted quest from her before, the trophy is stuck and only can be done in 2nd play-through.

    • CountKarloff says

      October 9, 2018 at 10:23 am

As far as I know this is not glitched, but has prerequisite mission that has to be completed. Have you finished mission “Lost and Found” from little island (Lestris) south from Keos ? Finishing that mission will unlock Xenia quest line.

    • PowerPyx says

      October 9, 2018 at 2:19 pm

Some people have finished the story and can’t accept the quest.
It’s a common bug in this game. I had the same problem when I played Medusa questline at Gamescom, NPC wouldn’t give the next quest because some chars randomly glitch out and stop giving quests.

You can’t do her questline right away when you meet her. I did it in Sequence 7 after clearing all other quests on Keos.

    • CountKarloff says

      October 9, 2018 at 5:37 pm

Oh, I see? You mean that after completing story some side missions might glitch out?

Just that I have “solved” multiple players similar issues by notifying that quite a few side quests (and whole questlines) have prerequisites (specific missions or progress on story). Xenia’s questline has actually two preconditions, complete both Chapter 5 story quest “Ashes to Ashes” (some missions after meeting Xenia) and side quest “Lost and Found”

Thanks @PowePyx for these truly excellent guides. Keep up the great work 🙂

      They aren’t missable.

There will always be new mercenaries above you in the ladder.
For Legendary Lieutenants, there are infinite of them in the game, they randomly spawn in Forts or in form of Mercenaries. Both Forts and Mercenaries respawn infinitely.

Hey guys, just updated the list of bugged trophies. There are currently 5 of them. Ubisoft made a thread about known issues which I linked in the Overview of bugged trophies.

I can’t platinum the game myself because of the glitched Cultists. These will be patched in version 1.03 though!

Many players have reported that certain NPCs don’t give them quests. I encountered the same bug when I played the game at Gamescom so it seems this can randomly happen to any NPC and if it happens with a trophy-related questline it means another playthrough from scratch.

I found a work around on a forum that worked for me. There is a side mission on the island with two guys waiting by a tree. I can’t remember the name but if you look out from where Xenia is, it is a slight left in front of you. The mission is salvaging some treasure next to a small island south of Keos. Complete that mission, then start the mission on the little island. Once you finish the second mission there is a brief exchange between an NPC and Xenia. After that the Xenia missions should become available.

      Hope this helps!

Added a 6th trophy to list of glitches. Hermes’s Homie has bad tracking, may unlock randomly long after you’ve been to every place. It’s obtainable, just the tracking is way off for some players.

    Hello

I’ve read that some people can’t start the questline for Xenia or that it might be glitched. I don’t know if this will work with everyone but it might be worth it. At the start of Sequence 7, I visited Keos and Xenia didn’t have the icon of a side quest. I did notice 3 side quests at the main docking area of Keos. There is a side quest, given by 2 male characters standing by some trees, that will tell you to go to a wreck of a ship. It is located on a small island. Upon arriving, you can complete the side quest as you like, there is a new side quest on that small island. Complete that side quest and it will bring you back to Keos. Just after I completed that side quest, the side quest “Birds of a Feather” became available.

Hope this can help people out there.

Literally search high and low over the entire map. I don’t really think it’s glitched at all. When you are looking at the map, use the middle zoom option and visit each area outlined in white on EVERY island. For me, it was Messenia & Lakonia in the SW area of the map. Lots of areas in the mountains that can easily be missed and you don’t really need to go there at all.

The Xenia trophy isn’t bugged, there’s a small island slightly southeast of her location with a sidequest, do that and you open up the questline.

Hermes’s Homie is not glitched, as far as i experienced it. if it hasn’t popped, that’s because something is missing. no other possibilities.
what is for sure : every rock, even tiny, is a land where you need to step in. You really need to put your foot on every rock. every. if no trophy, that means a rock is missing, somewhere.
when i got the trophy, on ubisoft club, it was written only 99,6%. so, ubiclub is an indicator, but not the precise truth.
what is good to do (to get the trophy), is to play with zoom : if just a little tiny island is red (spartan) or blue (athenian), you must put your foot in. MUST.
and to be sure that you went to a specific place, use L3+R3 (mode photo), just to remember that you were already there.
think about another thing : even in a area, you got a symbol revealed (and not a “?”) that doesn’t mean that the area was discovered for the game. why ? maybe you were close, but your foot were NOT on this sub-area.
or maybe, sometimes if you have died, you think that you go in specific place, but because you die, the save didn’t took it, and you didn’t remember that you went in another area, where a symbol is still revealed (that’s maybe the “glitch” of thius trophy).
the best also is to do one quest by area, behind the “?” or not. and if nothing is proposed, to pick iron or something on the ground, to kill somthing. and take a photo of the place (best advice you can apply, in my opinion).

Simply talk to Alkibiades and they’ll share a night together. Nothing is highlighted. You’ll find Alkibiades in Perikles home. You simple have to talk to him to activate it. This is confirmed with Kassandra only, as I haven’t done an Alexios playthrough yet.

I think it’s safe to say that the Stink Eye trophy can also be glitched.
I have over 90 hours of gameplay with Alexios, came back to get this trophy after finishing everything else, and spent two days killing goats in Kephallonia, probably over 500 goats were killed and I got no drop.

Decided to start a new file with Kassandra, got to the Cyclops Quest and as soon as I completed it, proceeded to kill goats over and over. 8 hours later I’m yet to see the Obsidian Eye. Don’t know what is happening. I killed goats all over the island, especially on Shepherd’s Hill, but nothing ever dropped for me.

I already gave up on 100% the game because it would be insane to keep at it at this point, but if it happened to me it can happen with anyone. Be aware when attempting to get this trophy

I had to start a new game and soon as I hit 20 completed bounties and contracts it unlocked like a charm. It was my last trophy I needed for plat and I was at it for hours doing bounties and contracts and would not unlock for me , maybe it was because I completed the game first and got max level I don’t know. I had to level it all the way up to the new max levels. One tip when leveling the ship: get to the top mercenary spot, or at least tier 2 or 3 before worrying too much about this, as the perk is that tier is that ship upgrades take half as many resources. i.e. if an upgrade took 1000 wood and 1500 iron originally it will now only take 500 wood and 750 iron. This helps greatly with reducing the amount of wood necessary, which is the one I had to hunt for at the end. I also bought it anytime a blacksmith had any. Doing the aegean sea branch of the cult also helps bc you will have to take out quite a few ships to do so and get more wood. I would save this for last. Do everything else for the platinum and see where you are at, then just hunt for what is left, you shouldn’t be too far off. It seems to new update changed the requirement, or at least glitched it if nothing else. I was worried about it, but I had enough by the time I did everything else and probably still had done about 60% of the old upgrades before getting the mercenary perk.

    Yes same problem for me regarding the Child of Poseidon Trophy (42 underwater locations). Ubisoft messed up with a previous patch which altered the location at ‘Submerged Minoan Palace’ (South of Keos) from 2/2 to 1/1. The other chest was part of a side mission which required a key to open. When this was patched to 1/1 it bugged out the trophy. You have 2 options;

Start a new game and play until you get the ship and then just travel direct to all 42 locations which apparently works (approx. 4 hrs)

    or

wait until the next patch as I believe Ubisoft are well aware of the issue.

After that look for the quest “Red in the Wreckage” on the same island and then for the quest “Lost and Found” on Lestris to trigger the next quests for Xenia. You would need an old save game before the trophy trigger, then repeat the quest to retrigger it. If you don’t have an old save game backup you need to start a new playthrough. Best to delete save games and start fresh, in case the save game has something corrupted preventing the trophy from unlocking.
