Going Rogue is the 15th main story mission in Borderlands 3 (BL3). This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Going Rogue Main Quest.
Going Rogue is unlocked when you complete The Family Jewel.

Area: Floodmoor Basin

Requirement: Complete The Family Jewel
Recommended Level: 26
Reward: 8053$ / 20904XP / Traitor’s Death unique weapon (Epic Assault Rifle)
Mission Info: The good news: Clay already found the next Vault Key fragment. The bad news: he subcontracted the work to another smuggling crew and now he can’t get a hold of them. Looks like you’ll have to track them down if you want that fragment.

Starting Location: Going Rogue
Talk to Clay
Fast Travel down to Eden-6 to the Floodmoor Basin – Reliance travel point, then head over and speak to Clay.
Take Rogue-Sight
Clay sent a group he used to run with to get the Vault Key fragment, but now he’s lost contact with them and needs you to find them again. Take the gun he offers you.
Optional: Shoot Rogue-Sight Marks: 0/3
Clay explains that the gun is used for leaving messages and hiding items and whatnot. You should take this oppurtunity to shoot the three hidden marks for some extra loot.
For the first one head over by the fast travel station and look East, the mark is on the crate. Shoot it to reveal a chest.
The next two are both out the East end of town. The first one is close to the cliff by the Jebs restaurant building. Look North where the two busted cars are, then zoom in on the crate in between them.
The last one is further South-East. Head to the shack near the dam waterfall, then look at the crate directly behind it.
Go to Ambermire
Now that you’ve got all your extra loot (which is likely way lower level than you need at this point) you can keep heading further South to the actual objective.
Shoot Rogue-Sight Marks: 0/3
Like before, aim the gun to see the Rogue-Sight marks to get the door open. All three of these are together on the wall.
Go to Ambermire
Head forward into the new area, Ambermire.
Head to Rogue’s Base
Head forward into the area towards the marked location, taking out any endemic life or bandits on your way. When you get near the entrance to the base you’ll likely run into another Badass Jabber that you have to deal with .
Shoot Rogue-Sight Mark
This Rogue-Sight mark will be just to the right of the door on the tree root.
Find Archimedes
Head inside the newly opened door to the Rogue’s base.
Open Base Door
Interact with the door just past the fast travel point to open it.
Turn on Emergency Power
Hit the switch on the left of the console to turn on the power.
Find Archimedes: 0/4
Head around the room and interact with all 4 bodies to examine them.
Find Archimedes
Last go interact with the short looking body in the center of the room.
Collect Archimedes’ ID
Grab the ID device from beside his body.
Activate Security Console
Head around the other side of this table and interact with the keyboard to view the security footage.
Activate Loot Tracker
Head around the other side of the table again, and activate the other keyboard to turn on the loot tracker.
Locate Agent Dee
Clay needs you to head around the area to find his remaining agents so you can get their IDs. Head over to the marked location to meet the first one.
Shoot Dee’s Rogue-Sight Mark
Dee is distracting some bandits in the middle of the rigs area. Shoot the Rogue-Sight mark on the shed behind them to have them break cover.
Protect Agent Dee
With Dee’s cover purposely blown, take out all the bandits in the area.
Collect Dee’s ID
With all the enemies gone, head over to the speaker and grab the ID from on top.
Check Dead Drop
Next head over and check the marked dead drop to see what the next agent is up to .
Shoot Rogue-Sight Mark
Shoot the mark on the side of the mailbox.
Then interact with the one that appears to grab the dead drop.
Check Dead Drop
Now head over to the second marked area to look for the next dead drop.
Shoot Rogue-Sight Mark
Shoot the side of the mailbox again.
Revealing another mailbox and another dead drop to grab.
Find Agent Quietfoot
You can now head South to the marked area to look for Agent Quietfoot.
Release Cage
Quietfoot is stuck up in a cage hanging in the air. Pull the nearby lever to let him out.
Kill Mud Neck Clan
That doesn’t go great, and Quietfoot dies from a trap in the cage. Take out all the bandits that are now coming into the area, kill all of them to progress.
Collect Quietfoot’s ID
Head back over to the cage, and grab Quietfoot’s ID from inside.
Head to Docks
You can now head over to the docks area to look for the last one of the Rogue members.
Secure Docks
Once you get close, Domino calls you and says he’s in a secure location, and could use your help taking out all the COV enemies in the docks area. Head in there and clear the area. After the first group is clear, more enemies will spawn in from a dropship.
Move Ship Scanner into Place
Domino says he’s been using a scanner to track the dropships, and needs you to move the crane into position for the scanner to work. Climb up the building to the side and then up the ladder to get to the top, the around the edge and activate the console on the other side.
Get to Ship Scanner
Climb up the ladder in front of you, then go across the arm of the crane and drop down onto the end of the crane to get to the scanner.
Smack Broken Rogue-Sight Mark
Once you’re on top of the scanner, melee the marked point to activate the Rogue-Sight mark.
Defend Scanner While it Charges
Another wave of enemies spawns in, jump down and take out any enemies in the area while you wait for the scanner to charge.
Kill Cultists
Once the timer have finished and the scanner is charged, kill any remaining enemies in the area.
Check Domino’s “Office”
Head over to the marked location to look for Domino’s ID.
Collect Domino’s ID
Grab it off the floor of the “office”.
Return to Rogue’s Base
Now that you have all the IDs you need you can head back to the base. You can get there quick by using the Ambermire – Rogue’s Hollow fast travel point.
Scan IDs
Place the IDs in the marked spot beside the computer.
Activate Loot Tracker
Now you can finally activate the loot tracker properly by interacting with the keyboard.
Follow Loot Tracker
Turns out the loot tracker is a digitized Jabber. Follow it to it’s destination, taking out any enemies you come across (the Jabber can actually help out too).
Take Elevator
Once you reach the dead end, take the elevator up. If you accidentally activate the elevator while not on it and it leaves without you, you can call it back with the button on the wall.
Find Key Fragment
At the top, head into the building. Grab any ammo you need from the vending machine, then head into the next area.
Defeat Archimedes
Turn out Archimedes was purple all along. He’s an Anointed Tink type enemies, so is small and moves around quick. He’ll warp to a location, then become slightly larger and start shooting you with a gun. He will also run up to you and try to punch you. He can also become very small to run around and avoid you. The fight isn’t as involved as the last two Anointed ones were, just keep putting ammo into him until he dies.
Collect Vault Key Fragment
He’ll turn to crystal then explode on his own, at which point you can grab the Vault Key fragment off the ground.
Go to Sanctuary
Fast travel yourself back to Sanctuary if you’re done in this area.
Give Vault Key fragment to Tannis
Head over to Tannis’ lab to give her the fragment and complete the mission.
This finishes Going Rogue main mission in Borderlands 3. Now the next quest Cold as the Grave becomes available.
