Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion has 4 pieces of the Genji Equipment set, which are amongst the strongest accessories in the game. Not only will these assist with completing all the missions, they will also reward you with Genji Equipment .
Genji Equipment #1: Genji Shield
Ability: Keeps Barrier & MBarrier active; absorbs all elements; nulls all ailments
This is the most complicated Genji item to acquire, but it’s also likely the one you want to go for first, due to how powerful it is. In order to get it, you will need to encounter a Magic Pot in Mission 7-6-6: The Determined Recruiter. Before you do this however, make sure you have the DMW Image for Magic Pot already, which is best done on the Magic Pot in Mission 10-2-3: Master Tonberry.
The abilities you will need to use to get the Genji Shield are Gil Toss, Costly Punch, 99999 Damage and Octaslash. Gil Toss can be found in a chest in Mission 7-4-6: Breakthrough. Costly Punch can be made by combining Goblin Punch (reward from the Waterfall minigame in Gongaga in Chapter 9) with any DMW Materia (can be bought from Research Dept. QMC+, which is also found in Gongaga in Chapter 9). 99999 Damage you will do with Costly Punch with some preparation, and Octaslash will require some preparation as well.
For Octaslash, buy 3-4 Octaslash Materia from Research Dept. QMC+, as this will increase your chances of getting Sepiroth’s DMW limit break. You will also want to prepare your DMW by going into an easy mission with multiple Lucky Stars Materia equipped (also bought from Research Dept. QMC+), and wait around until you get Cissnei’s DMW limit break, and use that to increase your limit state to Heavenly. With Heavenly and 3-4 Octaslash materia, you will be able to get Sephiroth’s DMW limit break very frequently during the battle with Magic Pot.
For Costly Punch, you will need several accessories to max out your ATK stat, increase your HP above 20000 and break your damage past 9999. You will want to equip 2x Power Suit (reward from Mission 7-5-4: Second Son in the Wasteland, and inside a chest in Mission 7-6-3: A Recruiter in a Slump) to maximise your ATK stat and increase your HP. Equip Adaman Bangle (reward from Mission 7-3-6: P’s Precognition Lv. 6) to break your max HP past 9999. Equip Brutal (reward from Mission 7-4-6: Breakthrough) to break your damage past 9999 without having to use the Buster Sword stance (as this requires AP and equipping 2 Power Suits will reduce your AP to 0). Lastly, you will probably need HP +200% stat on your materia to get your HP above 20000 (this is done at Level 57, at higher levels you probably can do this at a lower HP total and with a lower HP + stat). I dropped one of the Octaslash Materia and replaced it with a HP Up++ with HP +200%, but if you have completed 80% of missions already you can simply use the Full Cure with HP +200%, or you can use a Drainga with HP +500% that you can get from Mission 6-5-5: Arms Development Dept.
To summarise, you will want:
- Gil Toss
- Costly Punch
- 3-4 Octaslash
- Materia with HP +200% or more (if you don’t have the stat on other materia)
- Power Suit x2
- Brutal
- Adaman Bangle
With all the Materia/Accessories prepared, and your DMW set to Heavenly, save your game and load up Mission 7-6-6: The Determined Recruiter. Run around getting in encounters until you find the Magic Pot, it can happen anywhere in the mission and is pretty rare, so just keep getting in fights (if you want you can equip a Dash materia during this process to run from battle easier, you will be able to change it once you find the Magic Pot). Once you do find the Magic Pot, use Gil Toss and Costly Punch when requested. For 99999, you will likely need to hit the Magic Pot from behind to hit 99999, as a frontal hit won’t deal this damage at 20000 HP at Level 57. For Octaslash, you will just need to hope that the DMW lands on Sephiroth. If you fail to either hit 99999 damage, or don’t get Octaslash, simply pause and forfeit the battle, then restart it (you can also change your gear here if you have anything incorrect). Once you manage to get both 99999 damage and Octaslash, you will be rewarded with the Genji Shield. Now simply finish the mission.
Genji Equipment #2: Genji Armor
Ability: Sets HP limit at 99,999; keeps Endure and Regen status active
In order to acquire the Genji Armor, you will need to get 100% for your DMW. For information about how to acquire all DMW Images and for how to complete your DMW to 100%, please see DMW 100% Guide.
Genji Equipment #3: Genji Helm
Ability: Stops expending MP & AP; adds Libra
The Genji Helm can be purchased from Online Shop Shade for 1,000,000 Gil. Online Shop Shade is a reward from completing Mission 9-5-4: Abnormal Power. 1,000,000 Gil is a lot, but if you have completed all other missions and looted all chests prior to this, you should have enough just from the raw Gil you’ve obtained, as well as the Gold Rolling Pins which sell for 50,000 Gil each. You can also sell all your other accessories that are useless for a large amount of Gil.
Genji Equipment #4: Genji Glove
Ability: Sets damage limit at 99,999; keeps Critical status active
This is the simplest piece of Genji Equipment to acquire, but will also be one of the last you likely have access to. Genji Glove can be found inside a chest in Mission 9-6-4: Biomechanical Threats.

For the Genji Shield, you say to use 2 Power Suits to increase stats etc. However this also reduces AP to 0, so how can you use Gil Toss and Costly Punch that the Magic Pot requests?
faitaru says
If you go into the fight without the power suits equipped, then forfeit and equip them, you will still have AP to use the yellow materia.
I started the fight with my normal materia loadout, then after equipping everything required I had 492/0AP. All good.

> if you want you can equip a Dash materia during this process to run from battle easier, you will be able to change it once you find the Magic Pot
How do you go about changing it once you find the magic pot? I don’t think you can change equipment mid battle, right?
Nick says
Pause the game during the magic pot encounter, forfeit, and re-equip before restarting the battle.
Lee says
Think you start the fight then forfeit it. Redo your equipment and then try again.
The Tolfken says
Gil toss and costly punch dont use ap to use they use gil and health thats why this method of power suits works
Fox says
I used graviga with brutal to get the 99,999 damage. Worked like a charm.
Bingdingus says
Graviga with brutal and dualcast has been carrying me so much through the missions lol. I absolutely love it.
