Introduction

Welcome to the Cronos: The New Dawn Trophy Guide! This is a mostly linear horror game with some sections that allow you to explore a bit more freely. It will take about 16 hours to complete the first playthrough with full exploration, and half that on New Game+. You will need to complete the game twice as well as on Hard difficulty, but this is made simple due to New Game+. The game has a variety of collectibles, but if any are missed they can be cleaned up during New Game+.

The game has 3 endings, two of which can be gotten on a first playthrough, and the last only on New Game+. There are also various trophies for finishing the game with specific essences in your phylactery (essence storage), so you will need to make sure to pay attention to these to get them all within 2 playthroughs.

Bug Warning: On Version 1.00 there is a bug that can break certain cutscenes, which will lock you out of certain trophies. Save files from 1.00 are also not compatible with any later patch, so if you happen to have the game disc, be sure to download the latest patch before you start playing! If you own the game digitally it automatically downloads the latest patch.

Step 1: 100% Playthrough – Find all Collectibles, obtain all 3 Marzec Essences at once, get both regular Endings

You won’t have a choice of difficulty for your first playthrough. During this playthrough follow Cronos: The New Dawn Collectible Guide to find all the collectibles. There are various combat-related trophies that you can work towards while playing, but these can easily be done on New Game+ with upgraded weapons. It is recommended that you prioritize upgrading the inventory space, as the initial inventory is very limited and you’d find yourself regularly skipping items or backtracking to collect everything.

Throughout the game you will get Essences, both as a part of the story and as optional collectibles from Fallen Travelers. There are several trophies tied to either having specific Essences on you at once, or finishing the game with them in your Phylactery (Essence Storage). For :bronze: Togetherness, you will need Lidia Marzec, Marcel Marzec and Krzysztof Marzec all in your Phylactery simultaneously, so always choose to permanently delete other Essences until you get all three. These are also pointed out in the Collectible Guide so you don’t need to remember them.

At the end of the game, you will have two choices to make. The first option will give you Ending A while the second option will give you Ending B. Choose whichever, then reload your latest save and choose the other ending.

Step 2: New Game+ Hard Playthrough – Finish the game with only the story-related Essences, get Third Ending

After finishing the game, you will unlock both New Game+ and Hard difficulty. Hard difficulty increases enemy health and damage, as well as removes most of the autosave checkpoints. However, this won’t pose an issue at all, as with upgraded weapons and gear this will be easier than the first playthrough. On New Game+, you will carry over all your weapons, ammo, upgrades and energy, but lose any healing items, key items or cores in your stash. You will also be able to buy an Arbalest Bolts blueprint, allowing you to use the most powerful weapon far more frequently.

For this playthrough, you will want to ignore all optional essences from Fallen Travelers and only get the story-related ones for :bronze: The Orthodox. The Essences you will want to finish this playthrough with are:

  • Edward Wisniewski – inside the Bunker, automatically acquired after the cutscene.
  • Artur Baryka – at the end of the Steelworks, you will have a cutscene where you can choose to extract the Essence from either Artur Baryka or Gabriel Baryka. For the purpose of trophy The Orthodox, you will want to harvest Artur, which is the first option when you need to decide: “No, I came for you”. Do not let the decision time out, as if it does you will be forced to extract Gabriel instead.
  • Dawid Zybert – at the end of the Hospital, automatically acquired after the cutscene.

At the end of the game, you will have a third choice you can make. Choose this and you will get Ending C.

Step 3: Miscellaneous Cleanup

If you missed any trophies, you can either start another playthrough or load a previous save to get these.

» Cronos: The New Dawn Collectible Guide

The Archivist
Find all of the Travelogs.
Silver
There are 27 travelogs found throughout the game. They look like little radar dishes with green lights on them, and these regularly appear along the story path and near upgrade stations, making them easy to locate.

» Cronos: The New Dawn Collectible Guide

To Bring Them Back
Transfer an Essence from a fallen Traveler.
Bronze
See The Preserver :silver: .
The Preserver
Transfer the Essences from all fallen Travelers.
Silver
There are 5 fallen Travelers found throughout the game. These are Traveler bodies that you can extract an Essence from, which give you certain upgrades. 3 of these will be Marzec essences, which you will need simultaneously for Togetherness :bronze: .

» Cronos: The New Dawn Collectible Guide

The Boon Of The Relics

Silver
There are 7 weapons found throughout the game. Most are found along the story path, but a few are in optional rooms. If you miss them, they will appear in the store afterwards.

The Contribution
Sell 15 valuable items.
Bronze
Valuables are items that can be sold for Energy, used to upgrade your weapons. While you only need to sell 15, there are 35 to be found throughout the game. With the Lidia Marzec essence in your phylactery, you will get an extra 10% Energy for every valuable you sell.

Resources Are Scarce
Fabricate an item.
Bronze
See To Pave The Path :silver: .
To Pave The Path
Fabricate all item types.
Silver
There are 9 types of items that can be fabricated, but for the purpose of this trophy you will only need to fabricate 8 of them. Items can be fabricated with either chemicals, metal scraps, or both. These are found commonly throughout the game. In order to unlock the blueprint for an item type, you must first obtain the item regularly, which will occur naturally as long as you explore.

  • Handgun Ammo – 3x chemicals
  • Shotgun Shells – 2x chemicals + 3x metal scraps
  • Carbine Cartridge – 2x chemicals + 3x metal scraps
  • Torch Fuel – 3x metal scraps
  • Pyre – 3x metal scraps
  • Shell Patch (Small) – 2x chemicals
  • Shell Patch (Medium) – 3x chemicals
  • Shell Patch (Large) – 3x chemicals + 2x metal scraps

Although not needed for the trophy, you can also unlock a blueprint for Arbalest Bolts by buying it from the store on New Game+ for 400 Energy.

  • Arbalest Bolt – 2x chemicals + 1x core
Fire. Spreading.
Set 5 enemies on fire with a single burst of the Torch.
Bronze
The Torch is a flamethrower you can use by pressing :l1: while having Torch Fuel. This will create a circle of fire around you. There are several spots in the game where you can get enough enemies for this, but the best location is during the Eliza boss fight in the Abbey. Many headless Orphans will spawn throughout this, making it easy to accomplish.
Efficiency Discipline
Defeat 2 enemies with a single Sword projectile.
Bronze
The Sword is the starting pistol. It has a charge ability by holding down :r2: , which will deal more damage and penetrate enemies. Once you start upgrading the firepower, a single charged shot will instantly kill headless Orphans. You will regularly encounter these in packs, so line up two of them and shoot them with a charged shot.
The Anvil Of The Collective
Defeat 4 enemies with a single Hammer shot.
Bronze
The Hammer is the first shotgun that you acquire. As it is a shotgun, it will have a large blast radius. The best enemy to do this on are headless Orphans, as they are very weak. There are several spots in the game where you can get enough enemies for this, but the best location is during the Eliza boss fight in the Abbey. Many headless Orphans will spawn throughout this, making it easy to accomplish.
The Annihilator
Defeat 5 enemies with a single Arbalest round.
Bronze
The Arbalest is an explosive weapon found in the Toy Store in Station B. Ammo for this weapon cannot be bought at all, and can only be fabricated in New Game+, so it’s best to save ammo until you have this. There are several spots in the game where you can get enough enemies for this, but the best location is during the Eliza boss fight in the Abbey. Many headless Orphans will spawn throughout this, making it easy to accomplish.
Rapid Oxidation
Burn the Biomass.
Bronze
Story-related, cannot be missed.
Spacetime Oddity
Activate a Time Oddity.
Bronze
Story-related, cannot be missed.
Counter-Gravity Traversal
Execute a Gravity Jump.
Bronze
Story-related, cannot be missed.
Do Travelers Dream Of Electric Sheep?
Power up a device with the Conductor.
Bronze
Story-related, cannot be missed.
Don’t Let Them Merge
Burn 25 dead Orphans.
Bronze
One of the big features of Orphans is that they like to merge with dead Orphans to absorb their abilities. To avoid this, you can burn their corpses with Torches, Pyres or Flammable Barrels. Simply burn dead Orphans you find and you will get this naturally. You can take advantage of Torch Fuel dispensers to burn any corpses and obtain more Torch Fuels.
Raging Bull
Defeat an enemy with a melee attack.
Bronze
You can perform a punch melee with :r1: or stomp melee with :r2: . These attacks are quite weak, so it is best to do this on either a headless or wall Orphan.
Better Than One
Defeat 25 enemies with a headshot.
Bronze
Most enemies will be weak to headshots, so always aim for the head unless they are protected. You can enable aim assist in the settings if you are having difficulty with this, or upgrade stability on your weapons.
May It Serve You Fault-Free
Fully upgrade a single weapon.
Bronze
See The Praetorian :silver: .
The Praetorian
Fully upgrade all weapons.
Silver
There are 7 weapons in the game, and they are all upgraded using Energy. If you were to fully upgrade all 7 weapons simultaneously it would cost 479,600 Energy, which would take 3-4 playthroughs to acquire, but fortunately this is not necessary. As long as you fully upgrade a weapon it will count towards the trophy, so you can simply save when you have enough Energy, upgrade a weapon, then reload. By the time you have all 7 weapons, you will have enough Energy to fully upgrade them all, assuming you’ve been looting everything. You can reset the upgrades for a weapon at a cost of 1,000 Energy, + 500 for every time you do it, so don’t be afraid to upgrade weapons as you use them. If you want to get more Energy, then Lidia Marzec’s Essence is very good, as it provides +10% Energy for everything, including sold valuables.

Silver
MISSABLE

At the end of the game after the fight with the Pathfinder, you will have a choice to make. Select “Shoot him. End it here.” to unlock Ending A and this trophy.

Shell Not Compromised
Finish the game in the Hard Mode.
Gold
Hard Mode is unlocked after completing the game once. This will increase enemy health and damage, as well as remove most of the autosave checkpoints throughout the game. However as you are able to do this on New Game+, this will be entirely trivialised by your upgraded weapons.

While it doesn’t matter too much, the best weapons to upgrade and use during this playthrough are:

  • Sword MK-1615
  • Mace JER-5120
  • Lance REV-1411
  • Arbalest MT-1020

You can also buy a blueprint for Arbalest Rounds, which will give a use for all the extra Cores you will be able to find. This makes boss fights even easier.

Free From All The Scars
Save both Weronikas.
Gold
MISSABLE

This can only be unlocked on New Game+. At the end of the game after the fight with the Pathfinder, you will have a new choice that you can select. Select “Begin anew.” to unlock Ending C and this trophy.

You Never Give Up
Finish the game in the NG+.
Silver
On New Game+, you will carry over all your weapons, ammo, upgrades and energy, but lose any healing items, key items or cores in your stash. You will also be able to buy an Arbalest Bolts blueprint, allowing you to use the most powerful weapon far more frequently.
The Orthodox
Finish the game only with the Essences appointed by the Collective.
Bronze
MISSABLE

You will need to complete the game with only the story-related Essences that you are tasked to acquire. You cannot have any of the 5 optional Essences from Fallen Travelers. If you happen to grab either of the first two optional Essences, then you can override them with Dawid Zybert’s Essence. The Essences you will want to finish the game with are:

  • Edward Wisniewski – inside the Bunker, automatically acquired after the cutscene.
  • Artur Baryka – at the end of the Steelworks, you will have a cutscene where you can choose to extract the Essence from either Artur Baryka or Gabriel Baryka. For the purpose of The Orthodox :bronze: , you will want to harvest Artur, which is the first option when you need to decide: “No, I came for you”. Do not let the decision time out, as if it does you will be forced to extract Gabriel instead.
  • Dawid Zybert – at the end of the Hospital, automatically acquired after the cutscene. If you have three Essences on you already (if you extracted either of the first two Fallen Travelers), you will be able to overwrite one with this.
Punks Not Dead!
Finish the game with Edward’s Essence.
Bronze
MISSABLE

See The Orthodox :bronze: .

Togetherness
Gather together the Essences of Lidia, Marcel and Krzysztof.
Bronze
MISSABLE

Lidia Marzec, Marcel Marzec and Krzysztof Marzec are 3 of the 5 Essences you can acquire from Fallen Travelers. Unlike the other essence-related trophies, you do not need to finish the game with these in your phylactery, you simply must have them all at one time. Make sure to never overwrite these essences until you have all 3. This will have to be done on a different playthrough to The Orthodox :bronze: as they are mutually exclusive.

The Pyromaniac
Burn Biomass with the Pyre.
Bronze
Biomass are walls of flesh that can be burned. You will first find Pyres in the Steelworks, which are throwable proximity mines. Find a biomass wall and throw a Pyre at it, then shoot the Pyre to explode it.

Thanks for the guide as always. Do the collectibles carry over meaning can I get the missing ones in NG+? Any disadvantages of playing first run blind? Thanks again.

Collectibles should carry over in NG+. If you’re wanting to do first playthrough blind and avoid a third playthrough, the only thing you have to take note of are the essences you finish the game with, as the ones required for Togetherness and The Orthodox are mutually exclusive. Best bet is to ignore the essences from Fallen Travelers on your first playthrough, then get them alongside the other collectibles on NG+ following the guide.

Hi, Sorry I’m a bit confused.. i want to go blind too.. Is that to say that I go for ‘The Orthodox’ trophy on my first play through as to avoid the travellers essences?

Then on the 2nd play through for ‘Togetherness’?

Are there other trophies to bear in mind when It comes to essences?

      Thank you!

The Boon Of The Relics Is bugged for me

I missed the Javelin LK-102 on my first playthrough; I didn’t pick it up. I was able to buy this weapon later. I have all the weapons, but because I bought them instead of picking them up, the trophy doesn’t count. In NG+, the weapon was no longer on the ground.

I wasn’t aware the gun was made available in the store afterwards, at what point was it purchasable? Heard reports of the trophy having issues on 1.04 but not sure if that’s only if buy the weapon, or just generally if you collect it normally as well.

I found all the weapons but the counter remained at 6 of 7 even though I have all 7 weapons… this is because it calculates the gun you already have and the trophy says find the weapons…. I hope it gets fixed…. then for the other trophy I shot the biomass with the pyra but nothing does not give the trophy, the only defective ones are these, report them guys they need to fix

Was this the case with finding all weapons in the world, or did you buy a weapon from the store (something I wasn’t aware was possible)? Just trying to confirm whether it’s glitched generally or only if you buy weapons.

Interesting, I guess it just glitches randomly then, as some people have gotten it on latest patch while others haven’t.

How stupid I was… I don’t even know how I didn’t get the weapon, it was on the table… so the problem remains only pyromaniac, but now with the new game + how can I get the one of having all the weapons if I already have them all? Do I have to wait for the patch?

I have the same issue I got all the weapons but it does not pop, and the number from the tracker is not correct at all(comic and travel logs have the same issues.). I guess I will for some patches to continue play this game. Already have 2 buggy trophies.

Not sure, but I dont think the The Boon Of The Relics trophy is gltiched, the pyre one definitely. More trial is needed, however, buying weapons form the shop seems to affect the trophy.

Thank you for the confirmation, so at least we know that if we go for the platinum we will get those trophies eventually since we need two playthroughs in any case.

Patch 1.05 is live and I can confirm The Pyromaniac popped for me so it’s fixed. Can’t confirm boon of the relics yet but I’m assuming it’s also fixed and that this 90mb patch was to fix the trophies.

For The Pyromaniac trophy, what I did worked on the first try:

    Requirements:
A monster and a wall of biomass.
    Steps:
Shoot the pyre at the front of the biomass.
Pull the monster to the biomass.
The monster must TRIGGER the pyre and the explosion should set both the monster and the biomass on fire.

When I did this the first time, the trophy popped for me. When I always destroyed biomass on the walls with Pyre by shooting at it or stomping it, it never got unlocked.

Let me know if this works for you, cheers.

There are several areas where this can be done.

I did this in the Abbey. The moment you enter the abbey, there is a tent on the right with some biomass blocking entry. With the tent on the right, there are toilets on the left side, which spawns one enemy.

There should also be several other opportunities during Steelwork chapter.

The Pyromaniac trophy actually works on 1.4. You just need to harm an enemy while you are doing it.

So just sei it up on the Biomass and Lire an enemy there and blow it up.

Hey guys I just want to 100% confirm, for The Orthodox. Can I pick up the first optional essence with the energy +10% and aslong as I replace it with Dawid it should unlock? Just making sure because it’s worded like you can never use any optional essences but you actually can right? it just matters if you finish the game with the 3 from the story but its safe to pick up Lidia’s one aslong as it’s eventually overwritten?

Yes, as long as you finish the game with just the story essences it should be fine. You can pick up Lidia and overwrite it with Dawid later.

I don’t know if I’m getting old but I’m finding this game really, really hard. Not saying I’m an amazing gamer but I’ve gotten through a lot of games in this genre (all the recent Resi’s post-7, Dead Space, etc.) without much sweat, and I’m finding the base difficulty pretty brutal. Bosses are a fun challenge, but most specifically, any sort of ambush sequence or “beat all enemies to progress” is insane. The game encourages you to be scarce with ammo but requires an unfeasible amount of ammo to get past certain segments

4/10 is underselling the difficulty IMO. I’d honestly say it’s a notch below Souls-like difficulty, and I typically find this site over-estimates the difficulty.

I just completed the game 3 times, on normal and hard and NG+. I have all trophies now exept, “the praetorian” (for upgrading all weapons). I have did that in my second playthroug, but since it did not pop i finished the game one last time upgrading all of them together. The system still thinks i have upgraded 4 weapons, with 3 left to upgrade for the trophy (57%), but all weapons are fully upgraded. I have also restartet the game, restartet the consoll, updating game to sky and so on. Even tried to upgrade all weapons on my last playthroug right before the last boss and started another new game to se if the throphy would pop when I got all my weapons on the fourth run when I got to my weapons, but that didnt work either.. So now i’m missing out a platinum because of a glitch in the game..

Unadulterated Joy I think it’s still a little bugged, i’ve compleated the game and in the database section are listed all 10 comic book but the thropy says that i’ve taken only 9 out of 10. Now i’m playing a NG+ and i will try to obtain again all the comic book. The game is updated to latest version, maybe i’m a little unlucky

I think it’s not possible to get all the weapons upgraded in 2 playthroughs, considering that you cannot farm anything and how expensive everything is. Or am I the only one missing something? I collected everything I could on 1st playthrough, and it was barely enough to upgrade 2 weapons and not even up to the max. Or am I missing something? How on earth do you guys do it in only 2 playthroughs???
