Cyberpunk 2077 Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy Gig Walkthrough

December 18, 2020 by JoeApsey00 8 Comments

Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy is a Gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy Gig (Side Quest).

Area: Watson (Kabuki)
Quest Giver: Regina Jones
Requirement: Reach Street Cred Level 15, Complete Welcome to America, Comrade Gig
Reward: 254 XP / 572 Street Cred / €$4395
Mission Info: Gig type: Thievery

Objective: Steal Mikhail Akulov’s datashard

Location: Hotel Raito on Adams St.

Some loose-lipped, bar-hopping Arasaka suits have let out word about some big deal going down with the commies. Seems it wasn’t just talk for a pissing content with rival corpos either. THE Mikhail Akulov arrived in Night City a while ago (the one from the car with the tracker). A top-class Soviet fixer.

My client wants Akulov’s datashard, supposedly containing valuable intel on talks with the Japanese. Go the hotel where Akulov’s staying and swipe that data out from under his nose. As if it needs to be said but he’ll have heavy protection. And remember I’ll pay extra if you get in and out without a trace.

Call me when it’s done.

Objectives:

  • Do Not Raise The Alarm [Optional]
  • Enter Hotel Raito
  • Gain Access To The Elevator
  • Enter The Elevator
  • Go To Mikhail Akulov’s Penthouse
  • Obtain Mikhail Akulov’s Datashard
  • Leave The Hotel
  • Call Regina
  • Deliver The Shard To The Client

Starting Location: Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy

“Gig: Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy” is located in Watson (Kabuki).

Do Not Raise The Alarm [Optional]

This objective is active for almost the entire Gig, so the majority of the walkthrough will be here. From the entrance, head to the back of the reception and use your 7 Technical Ability Points on the door on the right, which has the keycard in it.

If you don’t have enough points invested into this ability you can pay for a room on the floor below Akulov and you can get a 50% discount if you chose the Street Kid Lifepath. Just make sure the receptionist doesn’t call Akulov. You can also comment on the TV with them and sneakily grab the key sitting on the desk, but this is the most risky choice.

Once you have the keycard, take the elevator up to the top floors. There are three ways to approach this situation. First, head out of the glass door and climb up the wooden structure to your left to get to the floor with your target. Second, take the door on your right and climb up the staircase to the upper level. If you have enough Technical Ability points (9) you can open this door to the top floor and then make your way into the penthouse. You can access the doors from here or go along the outside of the building, providing you have 5 Body Ability points.

Make your way into the penthouse interior and knock out both of the enemies patrolling the inside. You can use objects to distract one away from the other. Head towards the TV stand to find the datashard sitting on the table. Pick it up and then exit the building in the same way you entered.

Once you reach the bottom floor you don’t need to worry about getting caught. You can just leave through the entrance. Skip forward to the Call Regina objective to see the final part of this Gig.

Enter Hotel Raito

From the location above, enter the hotel through the main entrance.

Gain Access To The Elevator

From the entrance, head to the back of the reception and use your 7 Technical Ability Points on the door on the right, which has the keycard in it.

If you don’t have enough points invested into this ability you can pay for a room on the floor below Akulov and you can get a 50% discount if you chose the Street Kid Lifepath. Just make sure the receptionist doesn’t call Akulov. You can also comment on the TV with them and sneakily grab the key sitting on the desk, but this is the most risky choice.

Enter The Elevator

Once you have the keycard, take the elevator up to the top floors.

Go To Mikail Akulov’s Penthouse

There are three ways to approach this situation. First, head out of the glass door and climb up the wooden structure to your left to get to the floor with your target. Second, take the door on your right and climb up the staircase to the upper level. If you have enough Technical Ability points (9) you can open this door to the top floor and then make your way into the penthouse. You can access the doors from here or go along the outside of the building, providing you have 5 Body Ability points.

Obtain Mikail Akulov’s Datashard

Make your way into the penthouse interior and knock out both of the enemies patrolling the inside. You can use objects to distract one away from the other. Head towards the TV stand to find the datashard sitting on the table. Pick it up to progress in the quest.

Leave The Hotel

Make your back down to the bottom floor the way you came. Once you reach the bottom floor you don’t need to worry about getting caught. You can just leave through the entrance.

Call Regina

Once outside call Regina by holding down   /  :down2: and selecting her from the contacts list.

Deliver The Shard To The Client

Follow the waypoint which will pop up on your minimap when Regina finishes her call and hand the shard over to the individual.

This finishes Fixer, Merc, Soldier, Spy gig in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77).

This gig hasn’t popped up for me. I think it’s the last one I have left in Watson, and I don’t know how to get it to appear. Can anyone help me out, please?

This happened on my second try of doing all gigs in Watson. What I did was read all shards and skip time by 2 days and it popped for me

I was just exploring with double jump and saw the fire escape. I jumped up onto it, and there’s a few spots without stairs upwards… for these spots I climbed up onto the railing and double jumped up. I got to the penthouse, no guards, don’t even have the gig unlocked yet. Wondering if stealing the shard at this point (yeah it can be stolen, there’s a bag with an exclamation point despite not having the quest/objective) will break the quest or if they’ll be like “hey V go steal this thing” and V will be like “oh I already have that”, but something tells me it’s probably not a good idea. Just gonna hack all the cameras and and take a penthouse access key for later I guess.

You can also climb the fire escape up if you have the double jump cyberware (and presumably the charge jump) to circumvent the elevator completely. You’ll have to jump to the adjacent building a couple of times to bypass floors where the escape stairs are up and climb an antennae. The issue is that the game doesn’t expect you to do this so you’ll have to ride the elevator up and down to complete the mission (there’s an elevator keycard in the bag where you steal the shard.

I have the gig, went to the hotel, but the doors are solid (they’re clear glass on videoss I watched). I get no open prompt and can’t hack them to open. I can’t even begin the quest because I can’t get inside the hotel! What am I doing wrong?
