Starting Location: The Beast In Me: The Big Race
Head To The Big Race
Head to the location above, by the side of the road.
Call Claire To Start The Race
Next pull up your phone by holding down: and choosing to call Claire to get the location of the race. You can choose your car or The Beast for this quest. It’s best using your own.
Sit On The Bench And Wait For Claire
Sit on the bench at this location to skip time forward and assemble the racers.
Talk To Claire
Head on over to Claire who is standing opposite you at Sampson’s Car. Your dialogue choices here don’t matter so choose whatever you like, but calm her down so you can start the race sooner rather than later.
Get In Your Ride
Head on over to your Vehicle to begin the race.
Path 1: Finish The Race [Optional]
If you want to win this race without following Sampson, all you need to do is win the race, which is actually quite easy. The roads here are wide and your opponents will usually be quite far behind you. Take corners slow and accelerate to your top speed on straight, long roads. Doing this will affect your relationship with Claire negatively when you see her again in the Afterlife bar and club.
All you have to do is follow the waypoints and hit all the checkpoints, which have a forgiving cone. Try to maintain a balance between speed and safety, slowing down when a lot of racers are by you or if you are taking a corner. If you lose traction, take your foot off the accelerator and readjust yourself.
Important: if you don’t stay close to Sampson to help Claire kill him, you won’t get her car as a reward.
Path 1: Stop The Vehicle
If you have decided to finish the race, stop the vehicle at the end and get out. Claire will get out, frustrated at you for not following Sampson.
Path 1: Talk To Claire
Chat with Claire to discuss the reason behind your decision. The choices here don’t affect future events so go with your gut! She will then leave and the quest will complete along with The Beast In Me.
Path 2: Stay Close To Sampson
If you wish to follow Sampson, all you need to do is stay close to Sampson and he will spin out and go off the track once you reach checkpoint 24. Follow him down and off the path to the right, down the slope. Slow down, so you stay behind him.
Staying close to him is quite easy as he will always be ahead of you, but try to stay within 100 meters to keep up.
Path 2: Follow Sampson
Follow Sampson down the road until he crashes the car and emerges from it on the street corner. This quest will then complete and continue on with the main Side Job: The Beast In Me.
This finishes The Beast In Me: The Big Race side quest job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). If you killed Sampson, continue with the primary side job “The Beast in Me” to finish this questline.
