Cyberpunk 2077 With a Little Help From My Friends Walkthrough

January 2, 2021 by Gage 2 Comments

With a Little Help From My Friends is a Side Job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). This walkthrough will guide you through all steps of the With a Little Help From My Friends Side Quest.

Area: Badlands
Quest Giver: Panam
Requirement: Complete Side Job “Riders on the Storm“, wait 12 in-game hours for Panam to call about this Job
Reward: 523 XP / Street Cred XP
Mission Info: The great nomad saga continues: Panam’s up to something. That girl just doesn’t know when to quit – and my God, I love her for it. You don’t seem to know either, considering you wanna go back out there. Maybe you could save us all some time, pitch a tent out in the desert? Think we both know this isn’t just about the job anymore.

Objectives:

  • Go to the Aldecaldo camp
  • Talk to Panam, Mitch and Saul
  • Follow Panam and Mitch
  • Talk to Panam and the veterans
  • Get in Panam’s car
  • Talk to Panam
  • Talk to the nomads [Optional]
  • Find the entrance to the control tower
  • Go up to the control tower
  • Find a punch card
  • Take the punch card
  • Talk to Panam
  • Activate the locomotive from the control panel
  • Talk to Panam
  • Join the nomads at the junction
  • Talk to the veterans by the campfire
  • Get in the vehicle
  • Follow the train
  • Shoot at the train car coupler [Optional]
  • Defeat the Militech escort
  • Get in the vehicle
  • Meet with Saul

Panam Palmer Romance: This is Panam’s 2nd Side Job and part of the questline that leads to her romance. She can only be romanced with a male body type (unavailable if you have female body type). The important romance decisions are marked red throughout these walkthroughs.

Panam’s Side Quests:

  1. Riders on the Storm
  2. With a Little Help From My Friends
  3. Queen of the Highway

Starting Location: With a Little Help From My Friends

Go to the Aldecaldo camp

After waiting for Panam to call you again, go to the Aldecalo camp to proceed with this job.

Talk to Panam, Mitch and Saul

When you get to the camp, go into the covered area to talk to the group.

NOTE: This dialogue may be important for Panam’s Romance, you can’t let Saul find out about Panam’s plan. Pick the following dialogues:

  • “‘Forbade’ Panam from doing something?”  > Timed choice
  • “Feel like this fight’s been goin’ on a while.” > Timed choice

After those two dialogue options, Saul leaves, and the rest of the dialogue doesn’t matter whether you choose the optional dialogue or not.

Follow Panam and Mitch

After the dialogue, follow the pair over to speak with the Veteran group. You can respond to the timed dialogue if you want, but it’s not important to progression.

Talk to Panam and the veterans

When at the table you can select the optional dialogue if you want or not, but make sure you choose:

  • “OK, I’m in.” –> may also be important for the romance

To confirm you want to go on the mission with Panam and the group. If you were to pick the other option (“Don’t wanna get involved”) Panam will be pissed off at you but you can still meet up with the group at the next objective point later.

Get in Panam’s car

If you agree to go with the group, go over and get in Panam’s vehicle, then the ride will automatically skip after a short period.

Talk to Panam

At the location, speak to Panam and the group.

You can ask questions during the dialogue if you want or not, it doesn’t matter for the rest of the mission.

Talk to the nomads [Optional]

Before going in to the control tower you can talk to the nomads around the cars if you want. Speaking with them doesn’t change mission progression at all though, so entirely up to you whether you interact with them or not (just some extra dialogue for you).

Find the entrance to the control tower

You now need to find the entrance to the control tower with Panam. The easiest way in is to just go through the door directly beside her for 3 TECHNICAL ABILITY (this is the minimum you start the game with, so everyone can do this regardless of character build).

Go up to the control tower

Once inside you can search around if you want, but to progress, you need to go to the next proper floor up the stairwell.

Find a punch card

To get the train moving you need to find a punch card. This can be found in a box on the floor in one of the rooms.

Take the punch card

When you find the correct spot by scanning it, grab the punch card.

Talk to Panam

Go back to the other room and let Panam know you found the card.

Activate the locomotive from the control panel

Go back to the other room and interact with the panel to put the punch card in and start the train.

Talk to Panam

Go back to the other room to talk to Panam.

IMPORTANT: The dialogue here leads into Panam’s romance options. If you are playing as Male body type V and want to engage in the Panam romance be sure to select the following dialogue options:

  • “[Stand by Window] Missed you”
  • “So Let’s Start”
  • “OK. But we can skip the tiptoeing”
  • “So far, so good”
  • “Why’s it different with me?”
  • “[Touch Panam’s Hand] Next time, try following your impulse” –> she will reference ‘following her impulse’ later during the sex scene

Join the nomads at the junction

After speaking to Panam at the window, follow her downstairs to speak with the rest of the group.

Talk to the veterans by the campfire

IMPORTANT: This dialogue is also important and leads into Panam’s romance options. Again if you want to engage in romance with her, be sure to choose these dialogue options:

  • “[Sit] Worried about Saul?”
  • “Think I’ll try and get some shut-eye”
  • “[Scrooch Closer] Gotten kinda cold” –> gets you closer to her and you’ll watch the stars together

Get in the vehicle

When you wake up in the morning, go over and get into Panam’s vehicle.

Follow the train

Panam will be driving, and the group will be following along with the train.

Shoot at the train car coupler [Optional]

During the drive, the train will be slow, and you will get on the turret and have the option to shoot out the coupler to make the train go faster. This isn’t required for progression, but it takes out one of the Militech vehicles if you do and means you have less enemies to deal with later.

Defeat the Militech escort

Once the train stops the convoy, you will need to take out the rest of the Militech soldiers guarding it. Depending on whether you managed to shoot out the coupler or not will determine the number of enemies you need to deal with.

Get in the vehicle

After all the Militech soldiers are dealt with, get back in Panam’s vehicle to go back to the nomad camp.

Meet with Saul

Back at the camp Panam and Saul will talk, then you have a short conversation with Panam, then the Job will be completed.

Potential Bug: In some cases, ‘Meet with Saul’ can be bugged because Saul doesn’t spawn so there’s nobody Panam can talk to. If this happens, reload an autosave from one of the previous objectives before coming here. This should spawn Saul and fix the bug.

This finishes With a Little Help From My Friends side quest job in Cyberpunk 2077 (CP77). Now you can play Panam’s last quest “Queen of the Highway”.

Couldn’t find it anywhere. Before getting into Panam’s car you can go and talk with Saul with some consequences. If you decide to tell him that Panam and others are going nevertheless and say their names, he gives you a huge amount of money and tells that he will call later and the mission ends, If you do not tell, he thanks you without any reward, asks to call him, and you can proceed with the mission. I choose the second option, but I think the first my have its own branch.

Can’t get in the control room. It says my technical needs to be 7 and mines at 4. Can’t find a different way in.
