Dying Light 2 Empire Walkthrough

Empire is a Story Quest (Main Mission) in Dying Light 2. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Empire Story Mission.

Region: The Wharf
Quest Giver: Jack Matt
Requirement: Complete The Shoe, give control of the antenna to Jack Matt in Broadcast
Reward: 3000 Combat XP, 3000 Parkour XP, 2000 Old World Money
Mission Info: I was looking for a former GRE doctor. Jack Matt promised to help me find him, but first needed my help with his plan.

Objectives:

  • Meet Jack Matt at the PK headquarters
  • Go to the first antenna
  • Turn on the antenna
  • Adjust the frequency
  • Investigate the site of the explosion
  • Disable the cannon before the Renegades destroy the antenna
  • Eliminate the Renegades attempting to destroy the antennas
  • Turn on the second antenna
  • Stop the Renegades from destroying the antenna
    • Disable the first cannon
    • Disable the second cannon
  • Return to Jack Matt

Starting Location: Empire

Meet Jack Matt at the PK headquarters

Jack Matt calls you back to talk about the current situation.

You can respond to him however you want in this conversation, then he asks for help enabling some more antennas to boost the signal strength.

Go to the first antenna

You now need to head to the marked building where you will enable the first antenna.

To reach the top of the building you will be climbing a number of platforms running along the outside. To start, you can get onto the building using a winch on the north side.

Continue up and around the building using the platforms, bars, and your grappling hook. When you reach the first point you can enter the building on the east side make sure you enter and grab the inhibitors from the crate in the second room.

Continue further you will reach a large balcony. You need to go inside the building now and go into the elevator and climb to the top to continue farther.

Continue through the building and then back outside to continue climbing.

Turn on the antenna

When you reach the top there is a Nightrunners Hideout, along with a tape that you can grab.

You can then start climbing the antenna. To start, climb up the rotating posts on the leftmost pillar.

You can then use your grapple to reach the next pillar, take the wire over, then climb another set of rotating posts.

Finally, you can swing across another grapple point, then climb another set of posts to reach the top.

Adjust the frequency

After activating the antenna, interact with the box to the left to set the frequency.

Investigate the site of the explosion

There was an explosion nearby, and you need to head to the location to investigate.

Disable the cannon before the Renegades destroy the antenna

Turns out Renegades are trying to destroy other antennas with cannons. You need to get over there as fast as possible to stop them.

Eliminate the Renegades attempting to destroy the antennas

Deal with the group of Renegades, then interact with the fuse on the cannon to stop it before time runs out.

Turn on the second antenna

You now need to head to the location of the next antenna to activate.

This one you don’t have to climb for, just interact with the generator on the roof beside the antenna.

Jack Matt will call and wants to run some messaging by you, you can respond however you like.

Stop the Renegades from destroying the antenna

Renegades are now trying to destroy this antenna with another pair of cannons.

Disable the first cannon

Go to the left from where you start to reach the first cannon quickly. You can walk across the wires, then using the Grappling Hook to jump over to the next building where the cannon is.

Disable the second cannon

Follow the rooftop over to the second cannon and deal with the Renegades there as well.

Return to Jack Matt

With the antennas saved, you now need to return to the Floating Fortress to speak with Jack Matt again.

Interact with the door to his room and you’ll have another conversation with him.

Respond however you like, then you’ll receive information on the location of the GRE doctor, ending the current quest.

This finishes Empire story quest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
