Starting Location: The Raid
Meet with Sophie
Head to the marked location to meet up with Sophie. She won’t currently be there, but Hermann will be.
Follow the voice
Aiden will automatically go to bed, and a flashback will occur. Follow the objective marker through the hallways until the flashback is over.
Aiden awakes he will automatically be talking to Sophie. You can go through the white dialogue options for some extra info, or just select the yellow option to continue.
Meet with Aitor
Aitor calls on the radio and asks you to come to speak with him. He will be waiting at the nearby Safezone in the opposite direction of the bandit camp.
He asks Aiden to not get involved in what the Bazaar people are doing, but that’s not really an option you get to engage in.
Join the party
Head back over to the rooftop where the others are waiting.
Ask around to find where Sophie went
You’ll need to ask group members about where Sophie has gone. Talk to a couple of the people and you will eventually be pointed to Sophie standing on the edge of the rooftop.
Talk to Sophie
You’ll have a short conversation with Sophie and Barney, respond however you feel like here.
Join Sophie
Sophie then moves down to the rooftop closer to the Bandit Camp. Go down and speak with her again.
Spy on the Bandit Camp with binoculars
You’ll now be prompted to check out the camp with your binoculars. When looking at Bandit Camps you can spot locations such as entrances to get in with, as well as the types of enemies, including ones that will sound alarms or the camp lieutenant.
Liberate the camp
You now need to get in and liberate the camp, doing this however you please. Staying in stealth can make this easier if you don’t feel like trying to fight a bunch of enemies at once, but really up to you because it’s not required.
Kill Jack and Joe’s lieutenant
The lieutenant is counted as a boss enemy, and you can see their health bar at the top of their screen until you kill them. They will be more heavily armored than other enemies, and typically wield heavy two-handed weapons, so you need to watch out for power attacks.
They can still be instakilled by pushing them into spikes though, such as the ones surrounding the large pillar in the middle of this area.
Establish a Safe Zone
Before establishing the safe zone, make sure to loot the area for anything you might find useful (such as all the items in the locked room beside the large pillar). The game warns you that once you establish the safe zone all the loot will disappear, which does mean all the items in that room go away if you didn’t already pick them up.
Once you’re ready to continue, turn the crank on the middle pillar to raise the flag and capture the camp.
Free Carl
After capturing the camp, follow the objective marker inside to free Carl.
Go to the Tango Motel
Carl suggests going to the Tango Motel to find where Sophie went.
When you reach it and interact with the door you will receive a call from Hakon. He suggests not getting involved with Sophie and just going back and reporting to Aitor.
This is the first timed choice that really changes how a mission can play out (though doesn’t affect anything after the current mission ends.
If you choose to go Aitor, you won’t go inside, and you will just go straight back to Aitor at the Metro Station and the mission will be over (though you won’t miss any of the items inside the building, as you come back here later anyway): Meet Aitor at the metro station
If you choose to go inside you will then start searching through the building:
Search the Motel
Follow the objective markers through the building until you reach the marked door. Interact with it, but it will be locked. Move out the nearby broken window, and you will need to move between the two scaffolding using the zipline, then over to the door on the next part of the building.
Before heading inside you should kick down the ladder leading up this wall (you need to come back here later and this saves some time).
If you head through the first door when you enter the building you can find a GRE crate containing some Inhibitors (you can collect these when you come back later if you miss them this time) You can’t get into the room behind the bars to the left of the crate, so don’t worry about in there right now.
When you’re ready to continue, follow the objective outside to the open area and interact with the radio beside the dead Peacekeeper.
Defeat the Bazaar folk and go after Barney
Barney turns up and accuses Aiden of being with the Peacekeepers. You’ll then need to defeat a group of enemies who appear in the area. There will be two groups, the initial group of 2 enemies, then a second ground of 3 enemies.
Once they are defeated head back over to where you entered this area from and interact with the door.
Defeat Hermann
Hermann shows up and attacks you, and you both end up falling into a lower area.
Hermann is basically like the infected Goliath you fought earlier. He’s slow and does long attack windups, and you need to dodge his attacks instead of trying to block him. A helpful thing you can do with most human bosses like Hermann is set them on fire, either with a modded weapon or repeatedly throwing molotovs at them. They’ll flail around and won’t attack when they’re on fire, giving you time to get some hits in or heal if needed.
Find a way back to the garden
After Hermann is dealt with, interact with the nearby door, though it will be locked. Hakon appears and drops you down a ladder to get you out of the hole. To reach it, you’ll need to climb up the wall opposite and jump to it from the window ledges.
Get Barney
You can speak with Hakon if you want, then head inside the building. Interact with the barred door, then Barney and Sophie will come out and talk with you.
Here you will have a couple possible timed choices, which affect how this mission ends (but not any future events).
If you choose “Try me.”, the conversation ends and you will need to leave the area and talk to Aitor: Leave the Tango Motel and contact Aitor
If you choose “We can help each other.” Aiden offers to help Sophie with their issue, and you then get a second timed dialogue choice.
If you choose “I’ll help.”, Aiden agrees to go with Sophie’s plan, and this story quest ends after this conversation.
If you choose “No way. I won’t help you.”, Aiden doesn’t agree to go with Sophie’s plan, then you need to leave the same as if you had said “Try me.” in the first dialogue and proceed through the next two objectives.
Leave the Tango Motel and contact Aitor (choice dependent)
Leave the Motel area, then Aiden will automatically call Aitor, who asks to meet you at the Metro Station.
Meet Aitor at the metro station (choice dependent)
Head back to Aitor at the metro station, then speak to him and the quest will be complete.
NOTE: Whatever end to this mission you have doesn’t matter for anything going forward. You can still choose which of the two factions to assign the Water Tower to in the next quest, and the story progresses based off that, regardless of what you did at the end of this story quest.
This finishes The Raid story quest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.
