Grill Streak is a Side Quest in Far Cry 5. This walkthrough shows how to complete this Quest.
Region: Whitetail Mountains (Jacob’s Region)
Area: The Grill Streak (west of Baron Lumber Mill)
Quest Giver: Chad Wolanski
Requirement: having finished Flavor Country
Reward: 200 RP, 1.550 $ & Truck
Objectives:
- Collect Meat from Bison Roadkill (3)
(softening them with Weapons or Fangs for Hire voids it as being roadkilled, it has to be vehicle and falling damage only!) - Bring Bison Meat to Chad
Just as promised in the previous quest, Chad has another thing he wants us to take care of.
What could be more annoying than delivering Roadkilled Deer? Roadkilled Bison!
There will be a few locations marked on your map, most of them in Faith’s Region.
Now it’s time for a trade-off. Vehicles’ potential damage vs. vehicles’ agility.
If you have unlocked the Death Wish or Widow Maker trucks: use them by all means.
If you don’t: because pretty much all Bison locations are off-road and hill-side based, it would be advised to choose a quad, even though you have to hit them quite often.
Tip: The Auto Repair perk (6 points) can save you a few nerves because your vehicle will be repaired in between.
A good spot with many Bison’s is west of the Sacred Skies Lake.
Once you have found an eligible victim, mark him with your binoculars, because if you will be thrown through the air or fall down a slope, you will lose your bearings quite easily.
Hit the Bison, back off for about 20 meters and..
..hit it again. And again. And how many times you might need with the vehicle of your choice.
With a Quad, they will need 20+ hits before they will finally go down.
If you have one of the trucks stated above, you might get them with a single hit.
Once you’ve obtained three pieces of roadkill meat, fast-travel back to Chad to conclude his second and final quest.

I had better luck using Death Wish, it has good power and maneuverability, and you can kill a bison in one hit if you’re going fast enough.
dalailama1989 says
That’s a good choice for anyone, who has already unlocked it by the time playing this quest 🙂 .
Tom Aeris says
I had no problem at all with the 2012 ZUGSPITZ SCAVENGER.
Peyton Keith says
I used the widow maker I killed all bisons in 1 hit.
dalailama1989 says
Thanks for the car tips, I included them now 🙂

dalailama1989 says
Is he only doing the same animation over and over?
Any difference between night- and daytime?
Richard says
I am experiencing the same glitch. It won’t allow me to initiate him to do this mission.
James says
Same here! Does anyone have a solve? I think this is a bug. I can’t get this mission to begin, or populate on my missions list. Chad has a star over his name, indicating a further interaction is needed, but I can’t seem to talk to him. Help!
Jon says
Did anyone figure this glitch out at all?
Amarildo88 says
IF anyone need, found a way, shoot him, dont revive him, travel far away on foot(DO NOT FAST TRAVEL), go back and he will give the mission.
Zain says
This is one of the most frustrating side missions for me. Either the bison don’t appear for me or I get juked so hard I drive straight into water and have to restart. I’m having no luck with the Death Wish, I’ll try with the Widow Maker when I get home.
Buffalo Bill says
Try using a chopper. It works well.
FartsMcGee says
I killed 3 bison in about 30 minutes for this quest by hopping in a Kaumbaut H-04B Foxfly, my fav chopper. ?
I tracked the Grilled Steak side quest and, starting with the bison hunting location near the Sacred Skies Lake, hovered around the area until I saw a bison (they are marked red on the compass). If I didn’t see one, I’d just hop to the next hunting area.
Once I spotted one, I proceeded to ram that SOB, hover and let the chopper repair (get that perk if you don’t have it), and ram it again. I usually got it in 2. Except for the last one which ran across a bridge and a mountain before I was able to kill that sucker.
Way easier. Do this instead.

Easiest of all: Just use a pickup truck for both the antlered critters and the bison. (I used the Outlaw.) Moose spawn all the time south of Drubman’s Marina. You can get moose there, no problem. I tried with the Widowmaker, and it was fun, but not as maneuverable, IMO.
The bison started to be the bigger PITA, but then I found that if you go to McCallum’s Garage in Faith’s area, not only can you spawn a pickup there, but bison regularly spawn there, right on the street or right across it. In fact, I spawned a pickup when a bison came into the service station and the pickup spawned right on top of it and killed it! You may have to hit them several times, but they’re groggy when they get up, so just back up a little and wham them again.
One tip: I had a problem where the mission kept being stuck on the antlered roadkill. I could talk to him and it would ostensibly give me the bison mission, but the minute I moved away from his area, it went back to the antlered roadkill. I checked my inventory and noticed I had roadkill meat and damaged skin, and remembered that I’d killed and skinned a wolf when I got one of my deer. I sold off all the damaged skins and roadkill and damaged meat, got the bison mission again, and that time, it worked just fine. You’ll know it’s *not* working if you skin a bison and you don’t get a yellow text message saying that you just picked up a mission item.
HTH! I knocked out the bison in no time with that tip.
