A Verified Hero is a side quest in Final Fantasy 7 (VII) Remake. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the A Verified Hero Side Mission (Odd Job).
A Verified Hero becomes available in Chapter 8 when you complete the “Kids on Patrol” side quest.
Side Quest: A Verified Hero
Chapter: 8
Area: Sector 5 Slums – Center District
Quest Giver: Sarah
Requirement: Complete ‘Escort the Children’ main objective in Chapter 8 and finish ‘Kids on Patrol‘ side quest.
Reward: Moogle Medal, Elixir, Crescent Moon Charm, Spectral Cogwheel (score dependent)
Mission Info: The kids have allowed Cloud to play Whack-A-Box, a popular game at the hideout. Show these children what an ex-SOLDIER is made of.
Objectives:
- Earn at least 10,000 points on Whack-A-Box

Whack-A-Box is a minigame played in the Children’s Secret Hideout. Essentially, you have 1 minute and 30 seconds to run through the area whilst destroying boxes with your 
sword slash attack or by using your weapon’s ability. Different boxes are worth different points depending on their size, but the larger they are, the longer they take to destroy. Yellow boxes give points only, blue boxes give points + ATB gauge, red boxes give extra time.
For the purposes of completing the side quest, 10,000 points is enough. Destroy any box you see in your path and make a special effort to go for the red ones with an alarm clock symbol on first, since they add 10 seconds to your timer. Using the Iron Blade in order to have access to Triple Slash for the large 1,500 boxes is the best strategy. Two uses of Triple Slash are the quickest way to destroy a large blue 1500 point box blocking your way. From the big blues boxes only destroy the ones that block you from advancing, after that just focus on the smaller boxes and red timer boxes.
The prize you get is determined by your points total. For just playing, you get a Moogle Medal, for 10,000 points you get an Elixir, for 20,000 points you get a Crescent Moon Charm and for 30,000 points you get a Spectral Cogwheel (plus trophy Crate Annihilator). You need at least 10,000 to finish the side quest.
