There are also collectibles “Music Discs” and other completion related items including enemy skills, weapon abilities, battle intel reports, johnny-related incidents, bridal candidate outfits.

What really stands out though is the last trophy on the list for completing the game on hard difficulty. That is potentially the hardest trophy in the game.

What are your thoughts on the Final Fantasy VII Remake trophy list? Do you like what you see? How hard and long do you think platinum will be? For all trophy solutions check out the full Final Fantasy VII Remake Trophy Guide & Roadmap.

I wish they didn’t add a difficulty trophy to a game that we know will be long and because I should be able to achieve the Platinum trophy on whatever difficulty I want. Also, I wonder if there are any missable trophies which shouldn’t be the case since this should have post-game exploration. Anyway, looking forward to the trophy guide.

The Platinum is achievable by whatever the developers deem so. You shouldn’t be able to achieve it on anything less than what they decide. Don’t act so entitled.

      April 1, 2020 at 2:17 am

Also if I remember correctly from the original game some enemy skills were hard to get as they never used them often, one or two of the enemies were rare random spawns and were certainly missable in the original game. I pleased Square has included these in the remake. I remember some of them being really useful early game. That mantra something missile spell was awesome.

Wow, sounds like someone doesn’t like making an effort with their gaming. Let me guess, you like to have your hand held throughout alot of experiences right? Nothing wrong with a good challenge in a game. I definitely agree with what Brad said tbh. No need to act so entitled lol

“I should be able to achieve the Platinum trophy on whatever difficulty I want. ” What the F is this? You expect all to trophies just being given to you based on your terms? I guess you completely missed the whole point of trophies.

Just to be clear, I didn’t mean to sound entitled, I just prefer when long games don’t have difficulty trophies. I’m almost guaranteed to be buying Final Fantasy VII Remake after I check the trophy guide and see if it has a reasonable Platinum trophy (which it seems it will). I was just surprised by the hard difficulty trophy since Final Fantasy XV didn’t have it.

FFXV had the trophy to beat Ifrit on Normal (which was the “hard” mode). So, yes, this having a trophy for hard mode makes sense.

    • Brad speaks the truth says

      April 2, 2020 at 10:14 am

All these people calling Brad an a-hole are just upset people that he’s telling the truth, and that they probably won’t get the platinum because it’s too difficult.

Suck it up weasels. Trophies were not made to cater to your individual requirements, that’s not how the world works.

Comparing Final Fantasy XV’s trophy in which you only have to keep the difficulty on normal while fighting the final boss is not comparable to having to do another playthrough of Final Fantasy VII Remake on hard. Also, Final Fantasy XV’s normal difficulty is definitely not hard, if anything it’s easy. Look, clearly I worded my initial comment badly and that’s my fault, I’m looking forward to playing Final Fantasy VII Remake and achieving the Platinum trophy. Hopefully we can all leave it at that.

All of you little whingers complaining about the difficulty trophies need to grow up. If you can’t strive for a hard challenge for platinum if those are the developer’s requirements, you don’t deserve their platinum!!!

      April 6, 2020 at 2:56 pm

To each his own but difficulty trophies 🏆 are my favorite. I like to have it set up so that when I beat the game on hard the hard trophy and platinum trophy pop back to back.

Challenge accepted. Def going for this plat. Even if its 2 playthrus. 2nd playthru will be much shorter doing only main quests & a bit of lvl grinding. Most RPGs seem to force u to do 2+ playthrus if u want the plat.

Jessie said “brilliant” (bravourös in german it was) and the trophy popped.

The difficulty related trophy makes me think you can blast through the story pretty quickly. I’m wondering if you have to finish it on NORMAL to unlock HARD, or if you can do it on EASY? I do know you can change difficulty at any time from the in game options, so maybe just finishing the game unlocks HARD?

Well the difficult Change seems to affect all saves. It gets saved in systemdata. So i tried getting the Bike Boy trophy ans switched to easy ans once i loaded my normal save before ot was set to easy…
Hope that HARD unlocks by beating the game either in easy or normal cause if not i messed it up na switching to easy once on a different save…

Has anyone considered the fact that the release date is not until the 10th? We dont know what patches have yet to be released. You’re not ‘supposed’ to be able to play the game yet. For all we know hard mode is available from the start and the patch making that so just hasnt dropped yet. Awfully hard to know what the accurate truth is when the game hasn’t officially been released. We should just be patient and see what happens on release day.

    • BodyChipper says

      April 4, 2020 at 5:56 pm

I guess my question to that would be: has anyone who has gotten and played it early seen a “day one” patch or other patches get installed? Are those even available prior to the release date? PP gets prerelease copies, but I think even those come with the disclaimer that they may not be full 100% representations of the final product, although probably pretty close.

I don’t recall previous FF games ever requiring multiple playthroughs to plat, especially considering the amount of grinding one likely has to do in a FF game just to get the other misc. trophies. I could very well be wrong, but I’d hope that they don’t force two playthroughs when it could take 60+ hours just to finish one and get all misc. trophies already. That seems somewhat cruel.

    • BodyChipper says

      April 4, 2020 at 6:08 pm

My digital copy says v1.00 and no updates available so I assume the answer to my question about updates or patches being released yet is a no.

    • MikkDC says

      April 5, 2020 at 1:40 am

I think there may be a day one patch. I got my physical copy a couple of days ago, it comes on 2 discs, and the size after installation is 90.64gb but from what I have seen the digital versions are only 85gb. That to me suggests that there will be a day one patch, maybe to compress some files on the physical version OR to add files to the digital version but I would think its the former as it would be easier to incorporate a patch already into the digital version. Only time will tell, will have to see if I get a patch available on the 10th April.

From what I have played so far though, it looks like you will be able to blast through the story chapters (without doing the side missions etc) in 20-30 hours. Maybe even faster if you skip all the cutscenes.

just a heads up regarding new game after you finish the game you have something like a chapter select system where you can replay chapters on whatever difficulty you want. this means there are no missable’s. i don’t think the difficulty is changed either when going into hard mode you just cant use any items.

It seems like you can replay any chapter you wish and elect to play it on hard mode but YOU GET TO KEEP all your current equipment, materia, spells etc So the trophy to complete all chapters on hard can effectively be done in what could be called New Game Plus and by then you should know all the enemies weaknesses if you have been using the ASSESS materia. So it may not be THAT hard to do after all.

    That’s the Smell
    Ultimate Weapon
    Hardened Veteran

    Working on those ones now.
For the Johnny Experience and Best in the Business, you will need to replay at least the wall market after completing the game. Looking in your Play Data you’ll notice 24/26 Side quests completed. I’m pretty certain I had all mine complete before beating the game on Normal.

I have over 90% of the trophies and agree that they should be hard to get. When I find a game I like I play a lot and that’s fine for me. I’m not so sure that players shouldn’t be able to see all the content, though, if they choose to play a different difficulty. They have paid the same money, after all, and not everyone can spend the time on it. I certainly dont have as much time to play compared to the original and if it wasn’t this game I’m not sure I’d want to invest as much time in it. So I might not buy certain games if it cuts too much content. Marlboro and pride and joy are fun parts of the game and a casual gamer should be able to see them. It’s their loss if people choose to not buy as a result.
