There are apparently 18 chapters, each unlocking a bronze trophy. Many other trophies are simple tutorial tasks such as staggering an enemy which happens naturally. Beyond this there are several challenge-related trophies, minigames, defeating certain enemies/bosses, completing all quests (meaning side quests must be completed). There are also collectibles “Music Discs” and other completion related items including enemy skills, weapon abilities, battle intel reports, johnny-related incidents, bridal candidate outfits.
What really stands out though is the last trophy on the list for completing the game on hard difficulty. That is potentially the hardest trophy in the game.
What are your thoughts on the Final Fantasy VII Remake trophy list? Do you like what you see? How hard and long do you think platinum will be? For all trophy solutions check out the full Final Fantasy VII Remake Trophy Guide & Roadmap.

I wish they didn’t add a difficulty trophy to a game that we know will be long and because I should be able to achieve the Platinum trophy on whatever difficulty I want. Also, I wonder if there are any missable trophies which shouldn’t be the case since this should have post-game exploration. Anyway, looking forward to the trophy guide.
Brad says
The Platinum is achievable by whatever the developers deem so. You shouldn’t be able to achieve it on anything less than what they decide. Don’t act so entitled.
Kunfoostu says
Also if I remember correctly from the original game some enemy skills were hard to get as they never used them often, one or two of the enemies were rare random spawns and were certainly missable in the original game. I pleased Square has included these in the remake. I remember some of them being really useful early game. That mantra something missile spell was awesome.
Pablos says
Stop being an a-hole, Brad.
DEVILKIDGAME23 says
Wow, sounds like someone doesn’t like making an effort with their gaming. Let me guess, you like to have your hand held throughout alot of experiences right? Nothing wrong with a good challenge in a game. I definitely agree with what Brad said tbh. No need to act so entitled lol
BR says
“I should be able to achieve the Platinum trophy on whatever difficulty I want. ” What the F is this? You expect all to trophies just being given to you based on your terms? I guess you completely missed the whole point of trophies.
Brad sucks says
Brad, wow, just wow, you come across like an elitist ass and add nothing to the conversation.. Good job, you suck
Anonymous says
Just to be clear, I didn’t mean to sound entitled, I just prefer when long games don’t have difficulty trophies. I’m almost guaranteed to be buying Final Fantasy VII Remake after I check the trophy guide and see if it has a reasonable Platinum trophy (which it seems it will). I was just surprised by the hard difficulty trophy since Final Fantasy XV didn’t have it.
chris says
“I should be able to Plat on any difficulty I want”
Lmao future game journalist
Brad's Dad says
What a DBag, Brad
Anon says
FFXV had the trophy to beat Ifrit on Normal (which was the “hard” mode). So, yes, this having a trophy for hard mode makes sense.
Brad speaks the truth says
All these people calling Brad an a-hole are just upset people that he’s telling the truth, and that they probably won’t get the platinum because it’s too difficult.
Suck it up weasels. Trophies were not made to cater to your individual requirements, that’s not how the world works.
Alex says
No one is forcing you to play the game for trophies
Brad is a Loser says
No need to be a ass and getting worked up about virtual trophies. Sound like a loser who just collects trophies and plays shitty games to get virtual trophies .
Anonymous says
Comparing Final Fantasy XV’s trophy in which you only have to keep the difficulty on normal while fighting the final boss is not comparable to having to do another playthrough of Final Fantasy VII Remake on hard. Also, Final Fantasy XV’s normal difficulty is definitely not hard, if anything it’s easy. Look, clearly I worded my initial comment badly and that’s my fault, I’m looking forward to playing Final Fantasy VII Remake and achieving the Platinum trophy. Hopefully we can all leave it at that.
Just saying says
Platinums SHOULD be difficulty and completion related. Otherwise, anyone can get trophies
Anonymous says
All of you little whingers complaining about the difficulty trophies need to grow up. If you can’t strive for a hard challenge for platinum if those are the developer’s requirements, you don’t deserve their platinum!!!
Ryan says
To each his own but difficulty trophies ? are my favorite. I like to have it set up so that when I beat the game on hard the hard trophy and platinum trophy pop back to back.
Justice For Brad says
Brad hit the nail on the head. All hail Brad.
Juan says
Lol p2w kid talkin here
Jason Ramos says
If your the the type of gamer that can’t simply play a game on normal or hard than you should not be playing at all. Sad. You gotta earn a platinum trophy. Not just get one for participating. Smh.
Viking_God_Thor says
I think you have to play 2 playthroughs because Hard isnt available at the beginning.
Spence says
I’m so ready for this! Probably a 2 playthrough kinda game?
Christopher says
The mingame challenges on hard could be a pain. Hopefully hard mode can be done on new game plus.
Mescwalrus says
Challenge accepted. Def going for this plat. Even if its 2 playthrus. 2nd playthru will be much shorter doing only main quests & a bit of lvl grinding. Most RPGs seem to force u to do 2+ playthrus if u want the plat.
DEVILKIDGAME23 says
With ya there mate! Gotta love a hard mode trophy in a JRPG haha Two playthroughs of this game is far more ideal than just the one.
Crosvale says
I wonder if, because of spoilery reasons, the bike minigame trophy is missable.
Rockhopper78 says
Just make a save right before so you can reattempt it.
Pablos says
With Chapter Select it’s not missable.
Crosvale says
A Final Fantasy game with chapter select?!
Crosvale says
That would eliminate anything missable. Lol.
Ryan says
Beating the game on the hard difficulty will be one achievement I fulfill on my first play through
Pora says
Except if it’s like the demo and only offer easy/normal/classic on the first playthrough.
Negan says
No it won’t be because you only unlock Hard by beating the game once lol
BR says
No, it won’t. Hard difficulty is not unlocked from the start. You need to finish the game first.
Nanakemono says
I hate the new control scheme,is very hard to on the battles,I just wish they could have kept the same way as it was before.
DEVILKIDGAME23 says
I mean…You don’t have to play it lol
Steven Hill says
U can switch and have it set as classic so its exactly like the original
P says
Then play the original?
DEVILKIDGAME23 says
Happy with this list completely! Alot of trophies to keep a player busy and take in all of the content. I’ll do a blind run first, do as much as I can and eventually read your guide once it’s out. Thanks for all the great guides you provide 🙂
Matthew Darrow says
Hey Powerpyx,
Do you know when you will have a guide out for this just curious excited regardless of the list, what a year already! Nioh 2, Doom Eternal, RE3 Remake and now FF7 with so much more on the way! Hope everyone here is enjoying some awesome games and staying safe!
PowerPyx says
All my guides are up on the game’s release date, same for RE3 and FF7 and any other game 🙂
Animal Crossing: New Horizons, DOOM Eternal, Final Fantasy VII and Resident Evil 3 says
Animal Crossing New Horizons too!!
Pouet says
I have the game. We cannot start on hard mode so it should be a 2 playthrus!
Matthew Darrow says
Hopefully the hard playthrough allows us to go through on new game plus? Either way still can’t wait!
Taka says
I just wa t to know if it will be the full ff7 or how many games will make the whole game
PowerPyx says
It’s only a very small part, not the full game. Nobody knows how many parts it will be total, but Part 2 is confirmed to be in development.
Juan Valdez says
People like this are the reason Chuck E Cheese gives you the same amount of tickets no matter how well you do in a game… Platinum, because I’m special!
Joe P says
Multiple difficulties my be interesting. I know that on the original there’s maybe two required boss fights I had any issues with before the end and I didn’t even do it right the first time lol
Brad's mom says
Brad is right. Dont be pussies just because you’ll never touch one.
Hurr Durr says
Hi cutie ;)
On topic:
Once again, great work Powerpyx!
Going to be fun slaying FF7R, Persona5R, RE3R, TLOUP2, and GoT. 2020 going strong (yes, I’m aware I didn’t mentioned many, other great games!)
Just saying says
Not like you can get a decent looking broad anyway lol
JL says
Anyone got a tip for the motorbike mini game? I’m having trouble getting it.
777 says
Hi, i got it. I tried Not to hit any obstacles and got undamaged to the Boss. I switched to easy. Hope i dont mess up cause i played in normal cause i thought Hard Mode unlock by playing normal…
Jessie said “brilliant” (bravourös in german it was) and the trophy popped.
MikkDC says
The difficulty related trophy makes me think you can blast through the story pretty quickly. I’m wondering if you have to finish it on NORMAL to unlock HARD, or if you can do it on EASY? I do know you can change difficulty at any time from the in game options, so maybe just finishing the game unlocks HARD?
777 says
Well the difficult Change seems to affect all saves. It gets saved in systemdata. So i tried getting the Bike Boy trophy ans switched to easy ans once i loaded my normal save before ot was set to easy…
Hope that HARD unlocks by beating the game either in easy or normal cause if not i messed it up na switching to easy once on a different save…
Alsop says
Don’t suppose anyone has Dressed To The Nines yet? I’m worried I messed up because I only got the trophy for three. There’s a lot of choices so I’m not really sure what gets you the best results.
kantera says
Hello Powerpyx, really looking forward to this! Will you be posting your guide earlier as Square Enix is sending the out the game earlier than expected? Maybe a guide but not with videos yet included until the 10th april so we know if something is missable? I hope you and your family are well in these strange times. That applies to everyone on this site! Keep up the great work, grtz.
PowerPyx says
Hi, thanks for your thoughts.
The guide will be up on release day as usual, not before then.
Stefan says
Has anyone got the trophy for recieving praise from Jesse during the motorbike mini game ? I done it twice, once where she said I failed the test and another where she said I passed (took alot less damage) And the trophy didn’t pop. Wondered if there’s a third option?
tidal_rider says
Hey Powerpyx, looking forward to the guide. Is there an approximate time to platinum yet? Can you share it?
BodyChipper says
Has anyone considered the fact that the release date is not until the 10th? We dont know what patches have yet to be released. You’re not ‘supposed’ to be able to play the game yet. For all we know hard mode is available from the start and the patch making that so just hasnt dropped yet. Awfully hard to know what the accurate truth is when the game hasn’t officially been released. We should just be patient and see what happens on release day.
BodyChipper says
I guess my question to that would be: has anyone who has gotten and played it early seen a “day one” patch or other patches get installed? Are those even available prior to the release date? PP gets prerelease copies, but I think even those come with the disclaimer that they may not be full 100% representations of the final product, although probably pretty close.
I don’t recall previous FF games ever requiring multiple playthroughs to plat, especially considering the amount of grinding one likely has to do in a FF game just to get the other misc. trophies. I could very well be wrong, but I’d hope that they don’t force two playthroughs when it could take 60+ hours just to finish one and get all misc. trophies already. That seems somewhat cruel.
BodyChipper says
My digital copy says v1.00 and no updates available so I assume the answer to my question about updates or patches being released yet is a no.
MikkDC says
I think there may be a day one patch. I got my physical copy a couple of days ago, it comes on 2 discs, and the size after installation is 90.64gb but from what I have seen the digital versions are only 85gb. That to me suggests that there will be a day one patch, maybe to compress some files on the physical version OR to add files to the digital version but I would think its the former as it would be easier to incorporate a patch already into the digital version. Only time will tell, will have to see if I get a patch available on the 10th April.
From what I have played so far though, it looks like you will be able to blast through the story chapters (without doing the side missions etc) in 20-30 hours. Maybe even faster if you skip all the cutscenes.
jakobdwh says
Can confirm, hard mode is unlocked after completing the game, not sure whether it is available for completing on easy, but have completed on normal and hard mode becomes available after that.
Ff7risajoke says
300% stagger trophy is bugged, bike mini game trophy is next to impossible as I didnt get hit once other than by the boss, hit all the jumps, and still “failed”
Saurabh says
Will you have to pay for each part of final fantasy 7?
PowerPyx says
Yes each is a full game $60. Nobody knows how many parts it will be, but at least 3 parts I reckon. They are very expanded versions of the original. Maybe one day there will be a complete edition.
Zoubakin says
just a heads up regarding new game after you finish the game you have something like a chapter select system where you can replay chapters on whatever difficulty you want. this means there are no missable’s. i don’t think the difficulty is changed either when going into hard mode you just cant use any items.
AlwaysAThanks. says
Yo Pyx, having trouble with 2 trophies.. Aeriths part for Dressed to the 9s and Letter from an angel, can you give me a hint or 2 on these please?
Dandesu says
It’s 2 playthrougs as you can start only on normal.
MikkDC says
It seems like you can replay any chapter you wish and elect to play it on hard mode but YOU GET TO KEEP all your current equipment, materia, spells etc So the trophy to complete all chapters on hard can effectively be done in what could be called New Game Plus and by then you should know all the enemies weaknesses if you have been using the ASSESS materia. So it may not be THAT hard to do after all.
Daniel Gallivoda says
I’ve heard from one reviewer beating the game finishing all the quests available and he was at lvl 35. Hopefully, there is some sort of new game +, otherwise, this will be some long grinding.
Cloud says
I just beat the game, there’s a chapter select after finishing the game and then you can play on hard difficulty. On this difficulty you can’t use ANY items though…
MassivVernon says
I got a few broken trophies
The Johnny experience – 100% done everything to do with him and hasn’t popped.
The best in the business – completed all the quests and this trophy didn’t unlock either .
Will be playing again on hard mode soon so will just have to do them all again and hope they work next time , or maybe a patch will be put out if other people are having this problem too..
Swiiffty says
Somebody knows what’s up with the chapter 5 trophy? I’m already at chapter 7 but the only trophy I didn’t get was ‘plan E’ clear chapter 5. Anybody knows?
PowerPyx says
Sounds bugged. It’s unmissable from story.
Seph says
So far I’ve gotten all but the following:
Dressed to the Nines
Weapons Expert
Master of Mimicry
That’s the Smell
Ultimate Weapon
Hardened Veteran
Working on those ones now.
For the Johnny Experience and Best in the Business, you will need to replay at least the wall market after completing the game. Looking in your Play Data you’ll notice 24/26 Side quests completed. I’m pretty certain I had all mine complete before beating the game on Normal.
Fundamental says
Please help, is there a challenge or trophy you get for never dying? I made a simple mistake early and cloud died fleeing the Midgard first reactor fighting some guards. I’m super OCD and annoyed now. I kept playing but don’t know if I should just restart now. I can’t find anything about this anywhere.
PowerPyx says
No. There is nothing in the game tied to not dying.
Fundamental says
Thank you kind soul!!! 🙂
Gab says
I have completed on hard and loved it. The run to pride and joy is fantastic.
I have over 90% of the trophies and agree that they should be hard to get. When I find a game I like I play a lot and that’s fine for me. I’m not so sure that players shouldn’t be able to see all the content, though, if they choose to play a different difficulty. They have paid the same money, after all, and not everyone can spend the time on it. I certainly dont have as much time to play compared to the original and if it wasn’t this game I’m not sure I’d want to invest as much time in it. So I might not buy certain games if it cuts too much content. Marlboro and pride and joy are fun parts of the game and a casual gamer should be able to see them. It’s their loss if people choose to not buy as a result.
