A Debt Repaid is a side tale in Ghost of Tsushima. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the A Debt Repaid Side Quest.
A Debt Repaid is unlocked when you’ve found Kawamata Village.
Side Tale: A Debt Repaid
Act: 2 – Retake Castle Shimura
Region: Kawamata Village, Toyotama
Quest Giver: Bandit Gomyo
Requirement: Find the quest in the open world.
Rewards: Minor Legend Increase, Minor Utility Charm, 14 Linen
Mission Info: Bandits have been active around here. Would be a good idea to stop them if I can.
Objectives:
- Follow Gomyo to the Camp
- Survey the Bandit Camp
- Defend Gomyo
- Defeat the Bandits
- Search for Gorohachi
- Defend Gomyo

Follow Gomyo to the Camp
After hearing out the Bandits story, Jin agrees to help him, as they have a shared enemy.
Survey the Bandit Camp
After a short while, we need to survey the area from a ledge. There is a total of four locations you have to check out.
Defend Gomyo
Gomyo decides to storm right into the first two scouting camps, which rules out a stealthy approach here. Run after him and defeat those two first sets of enemies. None of them is heavily armored and they only carry swords or spears.

Defeat the Bandits
After this first encounter, we can scout the area further and approach to our liking. There are several secluded spots, so if you decide to face the enemies head-on in the first area…

…there is still a good chance the enemies in the adjacent section are still unaware and can be killed stealthy.
Search for Gorohachi
Once the whole section is cleared from Bandits, we need to check the house marked on the screen to look for their leader.
Defend Gomyo
The house will be empty, however. Gorohachi and some reinforcements will arrive from a hill nearby. This group features only unarmored bandits with swords and spears and don’t pose a big threat. As long as you don’t jump right in the middle and have to parry/dodge from all sides, this fight is quite simple to handle.

Gomyo will suffer severe injuries and has a final favor he asks us.

A Debt Repaid is the only side mission I’m missing. How do I get it to pop up? I am close to finishing the main story line. I have been accepting basically every stand off in the hopes that A Debt Repaid would show up, but so far nothing. Any advise please?

Have you liberated all outposts yet? Some side tales won’t show until the area is liberated. It might also be a bug, rebooting the game/console could help.

Thank you for your response! I have indeed liberated all Mongol outposts of all of Tsushima. I only have to complete the main story line with Jin’s uncle and a couple of fox den’s and 1 firehouse.

I just accidentally found Gomyo directly south of the Black Dye merchant fast travel in the bamboo forest area. Haven’t even discovered the village yet where the quest is from nor have I liberated the entire area.

Worked for me too!! I was 60/61 of the Tales and I finally got the platinum

It’s not working for me he’s not there not sure if I already finished the last one I need before I get platinum do I have to start over again

This was frustratingly my last tale too. Wanted to finish the game and get all my last trophies pop in a row. Turns out I only had 60/61. I couldn’t find him at first but the yellow bird guided me. From where you spawn outside the merchant just go right about 5 seconds and there you go.
