Ghost of Tsushima A Reckoning In Blood Walkthrough

July 16, 2020 by Darth_Krid Leave a Comment

A Reckoning In Blood is a main tale in Ghost of Tsushima. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the A Reckoning In Blood Main Quest.

A Reckoning In Blood is unlocked when you’ve completed The Ghost of Yurikawa, A Message In Fire and Ghosts From The Past.

Main Tale: A Reckoning In Blood
Act:
2
Region:
 Toyotama
Quest Giver: Lord Sakau
Requirement: Completed The Ghost of Yurikawa, A Message In Fire and Ghosts From The Past.
Rewards: Major Legend Increase
Mission Info: Preparations are complete for our battle to reclaim Castle Shimura and defeat Khotun Khan. I should speak with my uncle at his staging camp and see if he’s ready to launch the attack.

Objectives:

  • Speak with Lord Shimura
  • Find Yuna
  • Speak with Yuna
  • Leave Lord Shimura’s war camp
  • Travel to Fort Koyasan
  • Survey Fort Koyasan
  • Enter Fort Koyasan
  • Make your way to the upper gate
  • Break free from your bonds
  • Recover gear
  • Defeat all the Straw Hats
  • Escape from the inner courtyard
  • Follow Yuna
  • Defeat all enemies

Starting Location: A Reckoning In Blood

Speak with Lord Shimura

Head to Lord Shimura’s Camp and speak with him as he overlooks some training recruits.

Find Yuna

Walk directly in front of you to find Yuna standing between two red banners with Taka.

Speak with Yuna

Press :r2: to speak with her.

Leave Lord Shimura’s war camp

Head out the front entrance of the camp, which is at the opposite end of the training area where you spoke to Yuna.

Travel to Fort Koyasan

Now you have to head north-east to Fort Koyasan. You can either ride there from Lord Shimura’s camp or just fast travel to a nearby location and do it that way.

Survey Fort Koyasan

Head up the hill to the right to start another survey scene. You only have to find one circle before you’re interrupted by Taka and a cutscene.

Enter Fort Koyasan

There are no gaps in the fence around the Fort, so the only way in is in the front gate. Luckily, Taka has done his job properly and led the majority of the force away. Jump down from the ledge you surveyed on and head around to the left, remembering to keep low in case any stragglers remain. Head in through the gate.

Make your way to the upper gate

Once in the Fort, head up to the right and assassinate the Mongol in the stables. This will likely attract the curiosity of another couple of enemies, so dispatch them either with stealth or face them head on.

Then head up another set of stairs to another area, with another handful of Mongols to deal with. Throw a firecracker to attract their attention and then stealth them before heading to the gate. Open with with :r2: for a cutscene.

Break free from your bonds

Start tapping :cross: to break your bonds. It won’t do much good.

After a cutscene, though, it succeeds!

Recover gear

Your gear is in a chest right next to where you were tied up.

Defeat all the Straw Hats

You’ll now have to defeat around 8 Straw Hats. Start off with a Standoff if you have the Clan Sakai armor, and you can defeat a handful of them instantly. Then, use your Stone Stance to finish off the swordsmen.

Escape from the inner courtyard

Head towards the keep and a cutscene will play.

Follow Yuna

Head after Yuna back towards… well, you know where.

Defeat all enemies

Now you have what seems like an entire Mongol camp to defeat. There will be 20 or so enemies here, all either Straw Hats or yellow armor Mongols. The Straw Hats will all require the Stone Stance to counter their swords, whilst the Mongols seem to be either Shield or Bazooka-wielding Brutes, so you will need to switch to Wind and Moon Stance on occasions. Use everything you have, including bombs and your bow to shoot the explosive barrels around the area. Eventually you’ll prevail.

Afterwards you’ll get a cutscene and the mission will end. Note, after the mission ends you will be in a certain location. If you’ve unlocked ‘Lament of the Storm’ for your flute by collecting 5 Singing Crickets, swipe left on the :tp: after the cutscene to earn the Dirge of the Fallen Forge trophy.

This finishes the A Reckoning In Blood quest in Ghost of Tsushima.
