Within the village of Song’s Edge, Aloy will find a warrior named Inatut who is tied up in shackles and awaits his exile because he is accused of murder. He protests the decision but knows that there is not much backing his claim. Aloy agrees to look further into this and to possibly prevent his exile if she found proof of his innocence.
Inatut explains that he has been in a fight with a Carja and woke up later next to the body of the person he had been fighting but is sure that he didn’t deal a killing blow on him. He sends us to a nearby Carja camp, where the deceased belonged to.
Once we get there, Aloy can talk to the two Carja in the camp about the incident. They don’t believe Inatut’s story, but will eventually point out the location of the murder – it’s a crossing close-by. Scan the area with your focus and you will find three clues – the tree being the important one.
After Aloy has investigated the tree she noticed that other people were there when the incident happened and wants to track down whoever that was. Use to select the track and follow it into the woods. It will be interrupted shortly twice. The second time the area seems like a dead-end at first, but with the focus Aloy finds the path she needs to take, as seen below.
Shortly into the discovered path, we will hear voices. A few people are sitting around a fire and will spot and attack us. Aloy has to deal with the assassins and get rid of them. While we talk to the lone survivor, we will hear a horn in the background which indicates that the exile has now been confirmed and Inatut will be sent out into the snow with no gear whatsoever. Just a bit above their fireplace, the bandits scavenged trophies are stored. We will find the headdress of the deceased as well as some remaining gear which Inatut will need now.
Fast-travel to the closest camp-fire you have discovered and keep a lookout for Inatut with your focus . He will be sitting behind a rock, already half-frozen to death. Shortly after he slipped into the gear you brought, the two of you will have to fight off a few machines, including some Demonic Frostclaw’s.
Once they’ve been dealt with, Aloy promises to talk to his Werak’s chieftain to revert his exile. Fast-travel to the settlement and start the conversations. Talking to Inatut in the end will conclude this quest.
