Introduction

Welcome to the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Trophy Guide (PS4/PS5 Master Collection, 2023 release)! The trophy list is almost identical to the PS3 version but with a big twist. You need to complete the game with a Foxhound ranking, which has several conditions and can only be done on either of the two highest difficulties. Other than that the trophy list is largely the same, with only some minor changes. The PS5 version functions identically to the PS3 version, with only save and load times being a noticeable improvement. There is no save transfer or auto-pop trophy feature from the PS4 to PS5 versions.

Step 1: Very Easy difficulty, Non-lethal Playthrough for all Collectibles and Missable Trophies

For your first playthrough it’s recommended to play on Very Easy and getting all collectibles and missable trophies. On this difficulty you start with the overpowered EZ Gun which gives you 80% camo when it’s equipped and has infinite tranq ammo. Also make sure to get no kills so you can get the camo from each boss as well as the respective trophy. If you are already familiar with the game and want to practice for the Foxhound rank you could try getting no alerts, but this is optional as you’ll have to do it during Step 2 anyway.

Follow the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS4/PS5) – Collectibles Guide for all collectibles and missable trophy locations in a single playthrough (updated for Master Collection).

Step 2: Foxhound ranking playthrough on Extreme or European Extreme difficulty

This is where the real platinum difficulty is and what makes it much harder than the PS3 version of the game. You need to achieve the Foxround ranking which must be done on either of the Extreme difficulties. In this mode enemies see you from much further away, you have less health, ammo capacity, and bosses take and deal much more damage. In addition the ranking has several requirements such as a limited number of saves permitted, no alerts or kills allowed. It cannot be done on New Game+ unless you complete Extreme beforehand, but the benefits of NG+ are minimal so there’s no point in wasting time doing that as only camos and the patriot weapon carry over anyway. Make sure to start by selecting “I like MGS3”, this starts you with a few useful camos early on.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Young Gun
Submit Ocelot
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed

This is actually unlocked early in the game during the Virtuous Mission, after the cutscenes with Sokolov. I have outlined the boss fight information that occurs later in the game here.

Ocelot is the first boss of the game you face. He will shoot at you with 2 revolvers and also ricochet bullets off of surfaces if you stay in cover for too long. The general idea is to shoot at him when he is out in the open fast enough before he can shoot at you. You can use the Mk22 and stun grenades on him, and shoot down hornets nests on his side when he is underneath them to make him vulnerable. His guards may shoot at you every so often as well.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Pain Relief
Defeat The Pain
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed

The Pain is the 2nd boss you will fight, shortly after Ocelot. The Pain uses a wide variety of attacks using his hornets, such as hornet grenades (you can shoot it as it floats towards you), covering you in swarms, clouds of hornets, bullet bees and so on. You can temporarily remove his bee armour by using smoke grenades, regular grenades and shooting him with the shotgun. This gives you time to aim for headshots with the Mk22. You can also jump in the water to avoid his attacks.

Defeating him non-lethally will reward you with the Hornet Stripe camo.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It
Defeat The Fear
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

The Fear is the 3rd boss you will fight and is a complete pushover using a certain trick. Use a fake death pill at the start of the fight, the Fear will jump over to you and say “dead already?” and then turn around after a few seconds, use the revival pill, throw a stun grenade at him, while he is stunned unload on him with the AK-47, it will actually deplete his stamina and not health while he is stunned, he goes down in seconds and this does NOT count as a lethal kill, doing this will still reward you with his camo as well.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap The End
Defeat The End
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

You will unlock this at the same time as trophyThe Early End if following the collectible guide. First make sure you have the SVD weapon from Ponizovje West. This is found by taking the left exit in Ponizovje South. With the SVD in hand, go to Ponizovje Warehouse Docks and SAVE YOUR GAME HERE. Once the cutscene ends, aim and shoot at The End to kill him, earning both trophies. Then reload your game as this obviously counts as a lethal kill and you will miss out on a camo and a very useful weapon later.

The End is the 4th boss you will fight. It takes place across 3 different areas in Sokrevenno. The End will take point at various vantage points across these areas, you can see him more easily using the thermal goggles and by the reflection from his sniper rifle scope. You need to hold him up for a trophy, and 3 times in total for the Moss camo. You need high camo index to avoid him spotting and shooting you. Once you get close to his position make sure to approach him very slowly using the D-pad walking as he can hear you very easily regardless of difficulty. Once behind him, hold him up for trophyYou Snooze, You Lose, you can then shoot him with the Mk22, in which case he will run away to another area, you can stop him with stun grenades to do more damage but make sure to hold him up 3 times before defeating him. If you aim at his head a few times during a hold up he will drop his camo.

You can track his footsteps using the thermal goggles to find out where he went. Then repeat the same process and defeat him non-lethally to be rewarded with the Mosin-Nagant non-lethal tranquilizer rifle.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Houston, We HAD a Problem
Defeat The Fury
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

The Fury is the 5th boss you face. He will attack you with a flamethrower aggressively if he sees you. Equipping a box will allow you to run over any fire left over on the ground from his attacks, it will also prevent you from being set on fire if he hits you, equipping it if set on fire will also put the flames out. The best weapon to use on him is the Mosin-Nagant from a distance, it does a lot of damage to him. Having a higher camo index also helps him not spot you as easily. Keep on the move and avoid his flames while picking him off, especially in his 2nd phase as he becomes much more aggressive and random.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap River of Pain
Defeat The Sorrow
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

The Sorrow is the 6th boss you will fight. This isn’t really a boss fight in the sense of the word. You will be in a river that you need to make your way across, keep moving forward avoiding the occasional projectile attack by moving to the left or right that he will fire at you. Since you’ll be playing non-lethally you shouldn’t see anyone in the river apart from the previous cobra unit bosses, but don’t worry as they don’t count as kills.

Once you reach the end of the river snake will ‘die’, use your revival pill to wake up and end the fight. Doing this will reward you with the Spirit camo when you meet up with EVA. You can end this fight quickly by drowing snake and using the revival pill straight away, however doing so will not reward you with the Spirit camo, so do not do this on your collectible playthrough.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Grounded
Defeat Volgin
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

Volgin is the 7th boss you will fight. The fight encourages you to use CQC and you should do so for the most part. Volgin will electrify his body and attack you close up with punches, you can CQC slam him after his attacks as long as he is not electrified, when he is on the ground, if you are quick enough you can shoot him a couple of times in the head with a non-lethal weapon. You can equip the mask disguise to get a free hit as Volgin will think you are Raikov, remove it afterwards as this causes him to get aggressive for a short time. In the 2nd phase of the fight he will start using other attacks on you, such as firing bullets, the large area-of-effect bullet attack you can simply prone to avoid. Continue using the same strategy to defeat him.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Shagadelic
Defeat Shagohod
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

The Shagohod is the 8th boss you will fight. This is a two phase fight. The first phase is against the Shagohod itself while EVA is driving you around on the bike. The aim is to shoot the treads of the Shagohod with the RPG which will immobilize it for several seconds, giving you a window to shoot the weak point at the back of it.

In the 2nd phase Snake will be on foot and Volgin will be on top of the Shagohod driving it around. You need to once again shoot the treads with the RPG to immobilize it, then shoot Volgin in the head with the Mosin-Nagant, repeat until he is defeated.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap The Patriot
Defeat The Boss
Bronze
Story related, cannot be missed.

The Boss is the 9th and final boss you will fight. The Boss will start off by running straight at you to use CQC attacks, she will say “get ready” or “here I come” usually. When she reaches Snake and he grunts, press :o: , then rotate the left stick to counter and leave her stunned, then CQC slam her to the ground. When she is on the ground you can shoot her twice in the head with a non-lethal weapon if you are quick, then run away.

Her only other method of attack is using her Patriot weapon, when she is firing, any shots you fire at her will be deflected, so if she is shooting you should run straight for cover. If you let her catch a glimpse of you and stay relatively close to her position you can keep baiting her in to rushing you for CQC attacks, which you can keep countering, slamming, then shooting her, you have to time it right though. Otherwise if you have a high camo index, you can pick her off with the Mk22 and Mosin-Nagant.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Like a Boss

CQC Slit an enemy’s throat
Bronze
*MISSABLE*

Approach a lone guard from behind and grab him into a choke hold by pressing :o: , then press :tr: to slice his throat, killing him. Make sure to load your save afterwards as it obviously counts as a lethal kill.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Don’t Touch the Sides
Use a knife to remove a bullet
Bronze
*MISSABLE*

This trophy can be somewhat glitchy to unlock. Bullet injuries are rare if playing on Very Easy. The best places to unlock this are against Volgin or the Boss, as even on Very Easy they have a high chance of inflicting a bullet injury on you. When you get a bullet injury go in to the Cure menu, use a Bandage, Disinfectant, Styptic and then the Knife to remove the bullet last, this will ensure the trophy unlocks. Sometimes not leaving the knife until last won’t unlock the trophy.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Can I Keep It?

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap A Good Man Is Hard to Find

Bronze

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap Snake Bit
Poison a guard

  • Emperor Scorpion

Once you have one of the mentioned animals, equip it in the weapons menu, then press :sq: to throw it at a guard to poison him. Make sure to save before going for this and reload your save afterwards as the poison will kill him, voiding your no kill playthrough.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS5) Trophy Guide & Roadmap FOXHOUND
Earn the title of FOXHOUND
Gold
*MISSABLE*

This is the hardest trophy in the game and is a new addition to the Master Collection versions trophy list. You must achieve the Foxhound ranking, which has a strict set of requirements that must all be satisfied on the hardest difficulty.

Foxhound requirements:

  • Complete the game on Extreme or European Extreme difficulty
  • Complete the game in under 5 hours
  • No continues
  • No kills
  • No alerts
  • No use of Life Medicine
  • Eat 20 meals or fewer
  • Take less than 10 life bars worth of damage
  • Save 25 or fewer times
  • No special items allowed (EZ Gun, Stealth Camo, Infinity Face Paint)

At first glance this sounds very daunting, it is by no means easy but the difficulty is alleviated somewhat by the allowance of up to 25 saves and a 5 hour time limit. This is very generous and means you don’t have to rush through every area as fast as possible using risky strategies. If you make a mistake you won’t have to replay large parts of the game again, especially if you use your saves at the right moments.

Extreme Difficulty differences:

  • Enemies see you from much further away, especially with a low camo index
  • More guards in every area
  • Bosses deal and take much more damage
  • Fewer animals and other food sources
  • Less ammo capacity and not given as much from drops
  • If playing on European Extreme difficuly only, an alert causes a gameover

General tips:

  • Select “I like MGS3” when starting a new game – This will give you the AUSCAM, DPM, Flecktarn, and Desert Tiger camos, which can be useful early game. The former grants infinite suppressor usage. DPM (2x health recovery rate) and Flecktarn (Infinite battery for thermal goggles) are good in jungle areas and AUSCAM reduces damage by 1/3, good for some boss fights such as Ocelot, The Pain and The Fury.
  • Skip all cutscenes and radio calls – It goes without saying that you need to skip all cutscenes and radio calls as these count towards your time.
  • Timer – Unfortunately there is no way to pause the in-game timer, pasuing does not work, nor does going in to any menu. The only wait to pause the timer without quitting the game is to suspend the app via rest mode or opening some other app on your console, you can do this if you want to take breaks before reaching your next save point.
  • Save limit – You are limited to 25 saves for the Foxhound ranking. This is actally quite generous, I only used 18 saves in my run, leaving you room for 7 more, so there is a lot of leeway here.
  • Take your time if needed – Enemies see you from quite far away on Extreme even if you have a decent camo index. Take it slow if needed but bear in mind that guards will catch a glimpse of you or spot you entirely even if you are at at 50% camo from a fair distance. There’s no need to move at full speed using risky strategies in every area, just remember that the 5 hour time limit is quite generous.
  • Healing Radio Frequencies and the Spider Camo – Using one of these will refill a big chunk of your stamina bar the first time you call that specific frequency only, there are 8 in total. This means you won’t have to eat as much food, helping towards the 20 meals or fewer requirement. This is also particularly effective if paired with the Spider camo, it drains stamina quickly but gives you a very high camo index at all times while worn, which can let you pass through some areas much more easily, but don’t rely on it too much.
  • Suppressors – Try to make sure you always have a decent amount of suppressor usage. You can pick up some along the way, like the 2 in the warehouse. The Desert Tiger camo also gives unlimited suppressor usage while equipped, but gives poor camo in jungle areas.
  • Ammo Management – The game has dynamic ammo drops, if you are low on Mk22 ammo, the game will drop more Mk22 ammo. Don’t pick up any unnecessary lethal weapons apart from say, the AK-47 and M37 for The Fear and The Pain respectively. This way you won’t get any drops for weapons you didn’t pick up, and therefore won’t take the place of potential Mk22 ammo drops.
  • Peaking – This is a very useful mechanic. It lets you peak around walls, over ledges, without allowing you to be spotted as easily. This way you can line up headshots from relative safety in certain situations. Press :l2: or :r2: to lean left or right respectively, or both at the time to stand on your tiptoes.
  • Tactical Reload – There is a mechanic in the game that lets you skip reload animations. For example weapons such as the MK22 and Mosin-Nagant, you have to load after each shot is fired. You can avoid this by tapping double tapping :r2: after firing a shot, this quickly unequipes then re-equips your weapon, letting you fire again quicker than what it would take to reload normally. This is especially useful with the AK-47 for The Fear fight and the Mosin-Nagant.
  • Grenade Glitch – There is a glitch that still works from the original game. If you equip a grenade and hold :sq:, snake will hold it in the air, in this state your footsteps are silent and will not be perceived by guards. This allows you to run past guards at full speed and they will not hear you, it can be useful in some situations.

Some specific area and boss tips:

  • Dolinovodno (virtuous mission) – Shoot the hornet’s next above the guard and he will run across the bridge and the rest of the guards ahead will run with him out of the area, meaning you can just run through the area unseen with ease.
  • Ocelot Unit – At the start either hide under the bed and shoot their feet with the Mk22, they eventually all fall asleep, you can take out several at the start this way. You can then use the hatch and shoot some others from the crawl space that are moving around outside, just be wary of the sniper on the roof when you come out. Carefully take out the rest of them from cover and from as much distance as possible.
  • Ocelot – Equip the AUSCAM camo here. Start by shooting him quickly using the :sq: auto aim, then throw a stun grenade at him. Use the rock just on the left for cover, now keep trying to shoot him when he’s in the open then running to the rock for cover, keep using this tactic and you should be fine. When he reloads you can get a free headshot, you can also shoot down the hornet’s nests if he is close by to make him vulnerable. The Animals camo is important for the mountain area, make sure you grab it when you appear in the cave right after.
  • The Pain – Make sure to pick up the M37 Shotgun before this fight. For his bee armor use smoke grenades, stun grenades, and the M37 shotgun to remove it temporarily. You can go in to the water to avoid his attacks. For his bullet bee attack, go in to first-person view and it will miss you every time. When he uses a bee grenade, you can shoot it with the M37 and it will drop next to him, explode and remove his armor. His attack pattern is random and can be very annoying, just try hit him with headshots when he is vulnerable.
  • Ponizovje South – If you have the croc cap you can just swim all the way to the end, only come up for air when the searchlights aren’t near you.
  • Ponizovje Warehouse Docks – This area is tricky, if you can knock out the first guy on the pier quickly, you can shoot the 2 barrels, one next to the other guard in view and the one on the right, this will blow up the guards but will NOT count as lethal kills. This will also lower The End’s stamina slgihtly for the boss fight later.
  • Graniny Gorki – Use the scientist uniform in the outer walls and you’ll be taken inside by the guards, this is faster. Make sure to grab the Cig-gas Spray. Scientists will not detect you in box, they just stare right at you. Also grab the XM16E1 from the storage building outside if you didn’t pick up the AK-47 earlier, for the upcoming boss fight.
  • The Fear – At the start walk back a few steps and use a fake death pill. The Fear will come to you and say “dead already?”, after a few seconds he will turn around, use the revival pill, throw a stun grenade at him, look away and while he is stunned, unload on him with the AK-47 (use the tactical reload), it will damage his stamina bar, bringing him down in seconds and will NOT count as a lethal kill, and thus still drops the Spider camo which you should grab immediately before leaving.
  • The End – Save in the area, but make sure to beat him before going to sleep or anything else. If you turn off the game here and come back after a number of hours and load your save, The End will have found you, put you to sleep and you will be placed a few areas back. This means you will have to backtrack all the way back to the fight area. For the fight itself, stick to using your thermal goggles to find him and primarily use the Mk22 to damage his stamina. When he starts running away you can throw a stun grenade to stop him and cig-gas spray him to do more damage, but it can be hard to pull off. Otherwise use the thermal goggles to chase him to his new camping spot and repeat the process. You could save, close the app and advance your console date forward by a week, this means when you load your save The End will have died from old age, skipping the fight and placing the Ocelot unit here instead. However I strongly recommend NOT doing this as you will miss out on the Mosin-Nagant, which is vital for The Fury, Volgin, Shagohod and The Boss fights.
  • Krasnogorje Mountain Base – The animals camo is very good for this area, if you don’t have it then use the desert tiger camo. With an 85-90% camo index you can prone through the entire area. Make sure to gram the Mk22 ammo from the rock in the middle of the area if you are low after The End fight.
  • The Fury – This was the most frustrating boss for me. The Mosin-Nagant is the key. You can use either the black camo or AUSCAM, the black camo will help you stay undetected more easily at the start of the fight, AUSCAM will redude damage taken a bit. Stay at the end of each corridor, use the thermal goggles to find him. You can fire off 3 shots in to him at once, it doesn’t matter where you hit him as body shots do the same as headshots. After 3 shots, hide and wait for him to intiate his charge move, shoot him 3 times again and repeat. If you’re lucky you can sort of loop him in this cycle and defeat him quickly, but it’s not that easy to pull off. In the 2nd phase he bcomes much more aggressive and the fight can quickly spiral out of control. Make sure to put your box if set on fire, if he starts chasing after you just keep moving and get ready for an opening, usually when he charges his jetpack is the best time.
  • Groznyj Grad Weapons Lab: East – Put on the scientist camo and go up the stairs, immediately knock out the guard here with your cig-gas spray and move him away from the door. wait for Raikov to come out and spray him too. Then you can easily drag him across the walkway to the locker room.
  • Groznyj Grad Torture Room – During the Volgin torture scene, make sure to hold  :l2: or :r2:, this will ensure you don’t receive any damage here.
  • Torture Room (Prison Cell) – Grab the fork and use it in the cure menu to remove the fake death pill and more importantly, the transmitter. When the guardd makes rounds he will throw you some food, throw it back at him and wait for him to come around again. Repeat this 2 more times for a cutscene, he will give you the cig-gas spray. Wait until he comes around once more and throws you food (grab it) and is looking at you, knock him out with the spray then open the door by calling frequency 144.75 on your radio. Shake him down for smoke grenades grenades and ensure your stamina is high (use a healing radio frequency) for the next section.
  • Groznyj grad Southeast – Make a save here. This is very tricky. Immediately throw the food by pressing :sq:, as soon as snake lets go of the food equip the smoke grenades, run immedaitely right, holding :sq: to prime the grenade which silences your footsteps, past the guard to the crawl space. You have to do this very quickly or a guard will spot you, it will likely take you several tries.
  • Groznyj Grad Northwest – Run forwards, sticking to the left barriers, when you approach the second row of tanks start moving up and to the left of them, a guard should have noticed you and starts walking to the bottom pair of tanks you just ran past. Run up from here towards the dog, make sure to have a smoke grenade primed, run by the dog and left along the fence past a vehicle, then in between the 2 sets of crates here, then run in between the 2 guards ahead, run up to and behind the far end guard near the stairs, still with your grenade primed, equip your cig-gas spray and quickly knock him out, prime a smoke grenade again and run past the next sleeping dog, then crawl under the pipes to the escape hatch.
  • Tikhogornyj: Behind Waterfall – Grab Cardboard Box B here just before the ladder room. It’s lets you take a short in the next area.
  • Groznyj Grad Northwest (revisited) – Equip the spider camo and run left along the tanks, prime a smoke grenade so the dog doesn’t hear you. Run past the vehicle and towards the truck just by where the escape was. Climb in the truck and equip Cardboard Box B, this will take you straight to Groznyj Grad Weapons Lab: West. Backtrack to the locker room where you stashed Raikov earlier, the Sneaking Suit is in this looker and the Maintenance camo is one opposite. It’s very important to grab both of these.
  • Groznyj Grad Weapons Lab: Main Wing – Equip the Maintenance camo and plant the C3 on all 4 fuel tanks. Stay clear of the mechanics, if one is too close to a fuel tank the use the cig-gas spray to knock him out. Equip the sneaking suit before planting the last of the C3.
  • Volgin – This is a tough fight. Equip the Mask straight away, Volgin will say “ivan, is that really you?”, run behind him and try to get 3 headshots with the Mosin-Nagant, the remove the mask quickly before he goes berserk. Volgin should then say “here it comes!”, run behind him and headshot him. After this you want to try and bait his eletric beam attack he does almost every time you equip a gun, bait the attack, unequip your gun so the beam doesn’t follow you, and slam him once the attack is finished and roll over him for a bit more damage. Repeat this until you reach the 2nd phase where things get more complicated. He will start off by using a wide area-of-effect bullet attack, prone to avoid this. Continue to bait the electric beam attack but be careful, he fires 3 beams at once now, once he stops don’t run to him instantly as he will counter with a punch, instead wait a very brief period and then go in for the slam and roll. If he starts absorbing electricity from a panel you can score a quick headshot. For his other bullet attack where he fires them rapidly at you, try to roll in to him to interrupt the attack, it’s very difficult to dodge this otherwise and it inflicts heavy damage. When he is on low stamina, use a fake death pill, Volgin will aproach and then turnaround, revive yourself and you can then headshot him a few times for free, hopefully finishing him off. Once you beat him, pick up the Cold War camo he drops immediately, it makes the upcoming escape sequences mostly a joke. IT’S VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU GRAB THIS.
  • Escape sequences – Equip the Cold War camo. This has the special property of making it so when facing enemies they won’t shoot Snake. Make sure to face the few RPG enemies in Groznyj Grad, otherwise they will fire and kill you in one shot. Use your Mk22 and Stun Grenades to take out enmies, anything you do with them will not count as a kill, even if the bikes or floating platforms crash and explode as a result. Just keep facing enemies and taking them out and you’ll get through most of the escapes with little to no damage received.
  • Shagohod – This is essentially the same regardless of difficulty, it just has more health. Shoot the treads with the RPG and then it’s weakpoint while it’s immobilised. When on the ground, shoot the treads with the RPG and then quickly headshot Volgin with the Mosin-Nagant, it only takes 4 headshots to defeat him.
  • Eva Escort – These are not very difficult. Grab a few food items for EVA at the start as you will need to feed her a couple of times. In the first area move to the branching paths, crouch at the first tree here, turn around and wait for enemies to show up. Once they do throw a stun grenade at them and quickly take the right path across the log bridge all the way to the end of the area, you shouldn’t get spotted. In the 2nd escort area, just take your time, utilise a high camo index and the thermal goggles to pick off guards. Take the left branching path and take out all the hidden snipers in the grass using the thermal goggles to spot them, there are several of them here.
  • The Boss – If you are confident at countering her CQC attacks, this can be a very quick and easy fight. Equip the Sneaking Suit camo as it halves damage and gives decent camo index here. The trick to countering her CQC is pressing :o: the moment Snake grunts as The Boss comes to attack him with CQC, then quickly rotate the left stick. I managed to counter her a few times but not 100% consistently. If you can counter her CQC quickly slam her down, then get 2 quick headshots with the Mk22, then run away and hide before she starts shooting at you. If you prefer a less CQC focussed fight, keep track of her using the thermal goggles and use the Mk22 and Mosin-Nagant from afar to pick her off by peaking around trees or crouching in the flowers. With the Sneaking Suit and a suitable face paint, you will have a 45-50% camo index when crouching, this means she won’t see you quite as easily, giving you time to lineup headshots with the Mosin-Nagant, you have to be quick though as she moves around the area quite fast.

The only hard trophy is for BB RANK. In my opinion compared to 1 and 3 it is 9,5 difficulty only because od that one trophy.
