The Monster Hunter World Iceborne expansion has 60 Treasure Locations. This guide shows where to find all of these collectibles. Getting all treasures unlocks the following trophies and achievements:
- Fledgling Collector – Find your first treasure.
- Veteran Collector – Find all treasure within a single locale.
- Ultimate Collector – Find all treasure.
Each region has a total of 10 treasures. In order to start hunting treasures you will have to reach Unity Level 6 with the grimalkyne faction in the region you want to search for treasures (Bugtrappers for Ancient Forest, Protectors for Wildspire Waste, Troupers for Coral Highlands, Plunderers for Rotten Vale, Gajalaka for Elder’s Recess, Boaboa for Hoarfrost Reach).
To start leveling a faction you will first have to earn their trust by finishing their side quests, which also unlock a certain Palico Gadget from each of them. Use this guide for information on how to unlock all the Palico Gadgets: Palico Gadgets Guide.
Once you have a gadget unlocked in a region you can now use the help of a faction on a hunt. You can either just search for a grimalkyne on the map and it will join you on your hunt or you can use the new gadget “Tailraider Signal” you can unlock in Hoarfrost Reach which lets you call a tailraider like a taxi (highly recommended). Be careful though: you can only call a tailraider when you play solo, since it takes 1 of the 4 spots on your hunting party.
Once a faction reaches level 6 you will be able to perform pawswap with them in their lairs (marked on your map and also has a quick travel button). You can now trade them items for treasure tips. A grimalkyne will show their interest in your item by their movement. They can be non-interested and will turn their heads away, be curious or neutral about it, or go totally crazy for your item, jumping around, dancing around, basically begging you for it. That’s what you are looking for. Always give your items to the grimalkyne which wants it the most, or one of them since multiple can have the same reaction.
They enjoy stuff like potions, meat, traps, etc. Try giving them basically anything you have in your box, they might like it. They can drop the hints pretty fast sometimes and other times you will have to travel back and forward between regions a lot for a single hint, since you can only give them 3 items during a single visit. Only after you get the hint you can find the treasure. Some treasures have one or two hints before you can dig up the actual treasure.

Do you need to get a treasure before you get the next hint?

Definitely hard to get collectionables and boring too. At least with gold crowns you hunt…
Anyway, thank you for this guide. I really appreciate the work and effort to do it and help people like me to get those things easily.
