Trap Tool is a crafting material in Monster Hunter World. It is used to craft Pitfall Trap and Shock Trap. Trap Tool is bought for 200 Zenny from the provision stockpile at Astera. It can also be in your camp’s box during capture quests. Generally, traps are used to capture monsters alive instead of slaying them.
Location:
Talk to the vendor at Astera’s Provision Stockpile to buy the trap tool for 200 Zenny. He is unlocked after a bit of story progress has been made. If he’s not there you need to keep doing story assignments and he will become available automatically.

You can buy as many Trap Tools as you wish, he will never run out of stock.
