All That Glitters is a Stranger Mission Strand (Side Questline with Treasure Hunt) in Red Dead Redemption 2. This Walkthrough shows how to complete the Treasure Hunt from the Jack-Hall-Gang.

Reward: 2 Gold Bars (each worth $ 500)
All That Glitters Starting Location
This Treasure Hunt is located quite close to the Gang’s first camp Horseshoe Overlook. It is upon a plateau overlooking the Dakota River.
Famous Explorer (or at least so he says) Máximo traveled to the United States to seek another fortune.
Máximo, however, is quite busy and has to leave the country tomorrow. Because he believes we are an adventurer like him and he doesn’t want his map to be unused, he offers us to buy it for $10. If you decline his offer he will bring it down to $5. Bargain!
In case you scared him away, robbed or killed him by accident, you can buy his map from any fence in the game.

The first shown location is also in the Horseshoe-Area, a bit to the north from where we picked up the quest. It is a mountain called Caliban’s Seat. Approach it from North to South and you will be able to ride to the top. When reaching the top, before going to the small camp at the very end, head down to the right a bit and continue the narrow way along the cliff-side. The next treasure-map is in a small gap in the wall.

Treasure II
The location of the second treasure is quite a bit up North; Cotorra Springs in the state Ambarino.

Out of all the rock-cairns in this area, it is the one with a rather large rock on its top.
Treasure III
The final treasure of this hunt is east of the previous one, still in the state of Ambarino. To be precise, the Lake O’Creagh’s Run in the Grizzlies East.

The marking on the in-game map is actually a bit off. The location is not on the front-facing northern side, but on the other side of the island (south).

In this location, Arthur will find two Gold Bars, which can be sold for a total of $ 1.000. Quite a bit of cash in the early days!

I accidentally Knocked him with my horse and he got pissed and ran away screaming for help . Could never buy his map .
Do you happen to have another manual savegame to load?
You should be able to buy it from any fence in the game if you scared him away or killed him.

I’ve done this stranger strand but on my achievement unlocks it hasn’t contributed? Any ideas?

How do I know if this mission is completed ?
Also dont skip to last location without doing other 2, the rock prompt will not show up.
So I’m up to the final area at O’Creagh’s Run, and everytime I try to swim to that little island in the lake I start to drown and have to swim back to shore. So how the hell am I supposed to complete the final objective of this treasure quest if the game is actively preventing me from doing so ?!?
You can use a stimulant to fortify your stamina, or enter the water from the south side which is closest to the island and then just power through. You might lose some health too but thats okay, just eat something after.
There should be a canoe
I reached the second stage at Cotorra Springs, but when I hit X to search for the treasure, Arthur falls through the rock into a void and eventually ends up south of valentine.
Anyone know how to fix that glitch?
U can use your horse to swim across if u need too.
Also i got this glitch the first time where i jumped off the cliff and i flew strate up then my game crashed! My ps4 crashed!!!
