Region: West Elizabeth
Gold Medal Requirements:
- Kill all 3 enemies in Dead Eye
- After the confrontation, return to Pronghorn Ranch within 1 minute 30 seconds
Starting Location: Pronghorn Ranch, West Elizabeth
Talk to Abigail
Your argument with Abigail is interrupted by Tom, who lets you know that Mr. Geddes needs you to head over to Strawberry to pick up some mail. Drive the wagon to the waypoint by the post office.
While looking for mail, the wrong person overhears the name Marston, and of course it causes trouble.
On the way home, you pick up a tail. No matter how fast you order Jack to drive, you cannot lose them.
Especially since two more men join the hunt soon enough.
You tell Jack to stop the wagon at a fallen tree, and you jump out to confront the men. If your Dead Eye meter isn’t full at this point, it would be an excellent moment to use a tonic. Trying to defuse the situation is pointless, it’s time for action.
- GOLD MEDAL: Kill all 3 enemies in Dead Eye
Once all three are down, get back to Jack immediately. Skip the cinematic.
- GOLD MEDAL: After the confrontation, return to Pronghorn Ranch within 1 minute 30 seconds
Steer around the fallen log to the left through the trees and drive the wagon as hard as you can back to Pronghorn Ranch. Cut left across this bend in the road to save time.
From here it’s just a straight shot down the road to Pronghorn. Drive like hell and good luck!

Glitched, the horse likes to turn hard right at the beginning for some reason when you need to go left. Wastes a good couple seconds needed for the gold.
Same. When I gun it, the horse drives straight into the trees right at the start and you can’t really makeup lost time with shortcuts.
It’s important to prioritize steering around that log even if it means you don’t start switching the horse for a few seconds.
I am having the same problem with my game.

Yet another insanely unimaginative gold medal objective. Firstly, don’t skip any cutscenes as is suggested here (I may be wrong, but every gold medal I’ve gotten on a mission with a time related objective fails unless I watch all cutscenes). As many people have mentioned, the horse generally always turns right once you regain control after the “confrontation” cutscene, completely blowing you out of the water for the 90 seconds. My biggest tip for this one is to abandon and restart checkpoint. Once the game reloads you’ll be able to turn the horse left. Go up the embankment and find the line that takes you between two trees then back down to the path on the other side. From here just gun it back to the ranch as quickly as you can. Feel free to keep restarting from the checkpoint until you find the quickest line back.
