Resident Evil 4 Remake Chapter 12 contains 17 Collectible Locations. This walkthrough will guide you to all collectibles in chronological order. Everything that’s needed for trophies, achievements and 100% completion is included: Treasures, Castellans, Merchant Requests, Recipes, Weapons, Weapon Parts, Chapter-Specific Trophies & Achievements.
All Collectibles except Treasures Progress carry over into New Game Plus. There is no Chapter Select or Free-Roam after the story, but you can get missing collectibles in New Game Plus. All Treasures must be found in a single playthrough to unlock their trophies. Some collectibles can’t be reached on the first visit, those must be collected during later chapters when you have the necessary key items.
Collectible Progress can be tracked in the Challenges Menu. Treasure Progress shows on the world map after buying the treasure map from the merchant. It’s highly recommended to collect everything at the first opportunity outlined here, areas gradually become inaccessible when advancing the story.
Chapter 12
Objective: Make your way to the surface
Key Item: Luis’s Key
Automatically obtained during cutscene at start of chapter, unmissable.
Key Item: Small Key
After using the elevator at the start of the chapter, it’s in a small briefcase straight in front of the elevator.
Merchant Request: Jewel Thief
Same room, on wall next to elevator / merchant. You must find and sell the scratched emerald from a crow’s nest, will be listed below when we get there.
Merchant Request: The Disgrace of the Salazar Family
Same wall as the other Merchant Request. You must deface a portrait, which will be shown below. We’ll backtrack to the Throne Room next, where we will find the portrait.
Treasure: Gold Chicken Egg
Go through the door opposite the Gondola (don’t go on Gondola yet). Then backtrack to the Throne Room in the east of the map. There you can use the Cubic Device to get a treasure.
Ramón’s Painting (for Merchant Request “The Disgrace of the Salazar Family”)
Same room, in the left corner of the Throne Room. The small painting on the side wall is the one of Ramon. Open inventory, click on the golden egg that you got from previous treasure, select “Equip” (DON’T “USE” IT), then throw the egg against the painting. If you throw it at the wrong painting pause the game and select “Quit Game” and “Continue” to respawn before the room, then you can recollect the treasure and retry.
Stolen Jewel (for Merchant Request “Jewel Thief”)
Backtrack to the Courtyard. Exit the gate on the west of the Courtyard, then look north in the direction where a merchant/typewriter room is. Here you can shoot down a crow’s nest, then loot the scratched Emerald from it and sell it to the merchant. This is just outside the Courtyard, not directly in the Courtyard.
Treasure: Ornate Beetle
Inside the Locked Drawer on the Castle Battlements. With the Small Key you found at the start of Chapter 12 you can now backtrack there and open the drawer. The quickest way is to go through the Courtyard typewriter save room, from there go east and then north, over the small stairs on the side of the Castle Battlements.
Objective: Get to the top of the clock tower
(Note: for one of the upcoming trophies “Capacity Compliance” you will have to defeat a lot of enemies quickly. Bringing a fully upgraded TMP with about 200 ammo is HIGHLY recommended here to make it much easier. Equip it before advancing to the clocktower but save the ammo until you reach the trophy, which will be listed below).
Castellan 12
Backtrack to the merchant at the start of the chapter north of Ballroom, enter the golden Gondola and go through the gate to enter a room with enemies (“Clocktower”). In the northwest corner of the room, before going upstairs, it’s sitting on a box.
Treasure: Gold Bar
Same room. Treasure chest is on the left side behind some boxes, still on ground floor before going upstairs.
Treasure: Alexandrite
From the Castellan, go up one floor, but don’t go left where the firebreathing statue is. Instead, go straight to the end of the floor, then look up and shoot down the silver lamp.
Treasure: Mirror with Pearls & Rubies
Go up to the very top of the clocktower. There is an enemy at a lever that makes spiked balls roll down the stairs. DON’T drop down the ladder yet. Instead, behind the lever there’s a a broken stone railing, go through it to find the treasure chest.
Treasure: Extravagant Clock
Same area, at the very top of the Clocktower drop down the ladder then find this on the left. DON’T pull the lever yet, doing so triggers a Point of No Return (elevator ride), after which you can no longer free-roam the Castle.
Trophy: Capacity Compliance
Now pull the lever to activate the elevator, don’t let any enemies jump onto the elevator. The elevator isn’t allowed to stop. If an enemy jumps onto it, pause the game immediately, click “Load Game” and load the last Autosave to be put back right before the elevator.
Objective: Go After Ashley
Treasure: Yellow Diamond
After the elevator ride and reaching the top of the clocktower, step outside, go across the wooden boards, shoot the silver lantern hanging from the scaffold. Go across the wooden boards slowly while crouched or else they will break and you fall down.
Objective: Defeat Ramón
Trophy: You Talk Too Much! (Throw a grenade into Ramón Salazar’s mouth)
During the Ramón Salazar Boss Fight, throw a grenade in his mouth to get this trophy. If you run out of grenades you can reload the last autosave to keep retrying until you get it. A good opportunity is when he sticks to the ceiling to spray you with black ooze, throw an explosive grenade at his mouth and it will explode.
Key Item: Lip Rouge
Dropped by Ramon boss, loot it after boss fight.
That’s 100% of the collectibles in Chapter 12 of Resident Evil 4 Remake (RE4).
Next Up: Chapter 13 Collectibles

Demsville says
You don’t need to chuck the Golden egg you can just wait in the room for the chicken to lay a brown egg and use that. Then that allows you to sell the golden egg for a lot of money.
Gary S says
And it lets you sit on the throne whilst you wait for your eggs.
Gary S says
A newgame+ cheese that can be used for “Capacity Compliance”.
By the time you’re this deep in your second run of the game, you’ll have enough maxed out weapons. Sell them all and buy the infinite rocket launcher.
I cleared out the enemies until the clock tower elevator first, then went back and made a save the other side of the gondola. I sold everything I needed to, and bought the infinite rocket launcher.
It makes easy work of this scenario, then just reload your previous save. Jobs a good’n.
Gigi says
While that is true, it also works just as well with the infinite ammo handcannon. Took a few tries because I was unfamiliar with the spawning sequence, but at my third or fourth, it went smooth
Towa says
For Capacity Compliance trophy. I got it to pop even when a mob landed on the elevator. I took care of it before Leon voices his lines, so I guess it counted? Has that happened to anyone else?
MechaLeon says
I got this to pop last night in almost the same way. I actually made a manual save at the merchant on the other side of the gondala to try at a later time because I was trying to pop the trophy for awhile but wanted to move the story along lol. I wasn’t trying too hard on the lift. Had a couple guys drop down including a shield guy. I took them out quick before Leon said something about the lift. Made it to the top and the trophy popped lol
