How to reach Fountainhead Palace
This is an endgame area. After having defeated the Corrupted Monk in Ashina Depths and the Guardian Ape in Sunken Valley and collected the materials in the caves they were guarding, you must return to Ashina Castle. Get back to the Upper Tower rooftop where Kuro’s Room is. There you must decide on the game ending. In order to get to the Fountainhead Ending (the full ending), talk to Great Shinobi Owl and choose the 2nd dialogue “Break the Iron Code, stay loyal to Kuro”. Then you must defeat the Great Shinobi Owl. After conversations in the Castle you will have to go back to where you fought the Purple Corrupted Monk. The Idol is called Wedding Cave Door in the Ashina Depths. Enter the tent there and a huge rope monster will transport you to the area. Leave your transporting device to find the Fountainhead Idol just in front of you.
The area is not available if you choose to betray Kuro on the tower roof!
Once you go through the door towards the bridge you fight against the real Corrupted Monk. This time he has 3 health bars but with a bit of trickery you can get rid of 2 straight away. If you grapple up the trees as soon as possible you will be able to deathblow his first health bar immediately. When his first bar is gone grapple up to the trees again, lock onto him and jump to get rid of the second bar as well. Now he has only one bar left and shouldn’t be trouble any longer. By defeating him you will unlock the Vermilion Bridge Idol.
Fountainhead Palace – Mibu Manor
Keep dropping down until you reach the pond area with houses to your left. For now avoid the water at all cost since a lightning-throwing enemy will snipe you in water every time. Head through the building on your left and make sure to kill the flute playing squid enemies quickly, since they will curse you with a very annoying status effect if you don’t. Traverse the manor area while climbing on the roofs and head through the red door protected by some dog-like enemies to reach the Mibu Manor Idol.
In the next section it is important not to run through the area too fast, since the flute squids will curse if you do so. Take your time and kill them one by one. After dealing with the enemies you will reach a bridge and the Flower Viewing Stage Idol. From this Idol you can head right to find the Sakura Bull mini-boss.
Fountainhead Palace – The Lake
First of all you want to reach the big tree in order to kill the lightning-throwing enemy. As soon as you cross the bridge the Great Colored Carp will destroy it. Grapple across the broken bridge and run behind the buildings to grapple up to the ledges there. From those you can grapple even higher to the viewing platform. Here you will find a locked temple door and going downstairs will let you reach Great Sakura Idol and also the tree with the lightning enemy. Defeat him and you will now be able to dive in the pond without risk. Check the rear area where you grappled at for another Shimochi Warrior mini-boss as well.
From the tree jump into the water and swim to your left to find an underwater cave.
Swim through the cave while avoiding being eaten by the big fish. You will reach the backside of the temple with the closed door and the Palace Grounds Idol.
Additionally, you can grapple up to the roof and reach the Feeding Grounds Idol for the Great Colored Carp feeding bell.
Follow up the grappling points and the concrete stairs and you will reach the final Idol of the area Sanctuary Idol and a place where you can pray. Do this and this will trigger the Divine Dragon boss fight. First kill all the small white dragons while ignoring the colored one which spawn shortly. Once done the real fight will begin. What you want to do is grapple from one tree to another and once you land on one with lightning on it you can attack the dragon with the lightning you absorbed. At some point he will push you back and attack you with long-range waves. You will obtain Divine Dragon’s Tears by defeating him. With those head back to Kuro.
Where to go after Fountainhead Palace?
With the Divine Dragon’s Tears head back to Kuro’s Room to find out he is gone. He went to the same place you fought against Genichiro at the beginning of the game. The Castle looks different now though. Head through the open window in Kuro’s library and to the area where the Ashina Castle Idol was to find a Kite Grapple Point to the right of the castle. This will allow you to reach the Ashina Outskirts where you can find 2 minibosses Shigekichi of the Red Guard and Demon of Hatred at the end of the path. So if are going for all bosses as well, you will have to keep that place in mind.
Where you have to go in order to reach the final boss fight is taking the left from the Ashina Castle Idol and dropping down the hole as soon you enter the first room.
This will lead you to the Ashina Reservoir Idol. Another mini-boss awaits against another Seven Spears member but you can skip it if you wish by using the grapple on the left which is also where you need to go. Follow the path back to the Secret Passage from the beginning of the game, grab the Near Secret Passage Idol on your way and enter the final boss battle of the game.
First you will have to defeat a 1 healthbar Genichiro in his second form, followed by a 3 health bar fight against Sword Saint Isshin Ashina. Make use of the huge area. You can basically run around the area and wait for the bosses to do their most unsafe attack and punish it. It will be an endurance battle so make sure to ration your Healing Gourds and Pellets for the long battle.
This concludes the “Fountainhead Palace” area of the game as well as the game itself. After the game you will be asked if you want to start the 2nd playthrough (New Game+) right away or if you want to keep playing. If you still have unfinished bosses and items to find, select “No” to keep playing in Free-Roam. You can start New Game+ at any time by praying at the idol of the Dilapidated Temple.
Hope you enjoyed the Sekiro Walkthroughs and if you need help finding the remaining bosses as well as collectibles and upgrade items, refer to our complete Sekiro Shadows Die Twice Wiki & Strategy Guide that will bring you to 100% completion.

I can’t do the deathblow at the start of the corrupted monk fight, any suggestions?
Jordan says
U have to grapple to the 1st branch possible t pull the right when u walk on the bridge and grapple your way as quick as possible to the highest point on the last branch to the left. Doing so will always have a deathblow market ready on him as soon as u reach the branch and immediately jump towards him and soon as u do the 1st deathblow grapple right up to the branch above him and back to the branch u done the 1st one from and jumping on him again will give u 2 deathblows and just use divine confetti and firecrackers to finish him off. It’s really a easy fight just remember if ur not able to do the deathblow then ur just not moving fast enough
Debiruman says
You can’t with the 1.03 update, the first stealth-kill possibility has been removed, you just can stealth-kill him once, at the very begining of the second phase.
Debiruman says
You can’t perform two stealth-kills on the True Corrupted Monk anymore with the 1.03 update, you have to fight him properly to remove his first health bar, but you still can stealth-skill him from above as soon as he reappears for the second phase for a one-shot kill, and then fight him again in the third phase.

You say:”This will allow you to reach the Ashina Outskirts where you can find 2 more mini-bosses as well as Demon of Hatred at the end of the path. ”
2 more mini bosses?? Which ones? The Shigekichi of the Red Guard which other mini boss shoud I encounter? Besides Demon of Hatred… which one is
PowerPyx says
This wasn’t worded properly. It’s only Shigekichi + Demon of Hatred. So 2 total (not 2 + Demon of Hatred).
I updated it to “This will allow you to reach the Ashina Outskirts where you can find 2 minibosses Shigekichi of the Red Guard and Demon of Hatred at the end of the path”.
And I can confirm this again there’s only Shigekichi there + Demon of Hatred. So only 2 total in Ashina Outskirts, not 3.
Thanks for your question about this! It helped to make the guide better =)
