Introduction

Welcome to the Sifu Trophy Guide! This is going to be a relatively challenging platinum. There are two difficult trophies :gold: Prodigal Child & :bronze: Scareless that require you to finish the game with the age of 25 & 50 years or less. You start at the age of 20 and with each death, your age rises up. This means if you die one time your age goes up to 21, if you die a second time your age goes up by two to 23, if you die a third time your age goes up by 3 to 26, and so on. Your maximum age is 78 and if you get over that age you will die. If that happens you can either start at Mission 1 again (you will lose all your unlocked skills and perks except skills that you unlocked permanently) or restart the story completely. The good thing is that the game only has 5 missions. Each mission is about 25 minutes long, even quicker if you rush through them. Also, there are two ways to reduce your death counter – after big group fights/boss fights your age gets lowered by one – and you can spend 1000 XP at shrines to reset your age. It is highly recommended to back up your save after each mission and before each boss fight because as mentioned above you only have limited lives and by backing up your saves you can repeat the fight without deaths. When your age goes up your health will go down a bit, but you will get a little bit stronger with increased age. The last thing to note is that you can replay each Mission after you complete it, which will update your starting age for the next mission as well. For example, if you finished a Mission at Age 30 on the first try and then you replay it and finish it at Age 24, your new starting Age for the next mission will also update to Age 24. This is the case with every mission, thus allowing you to keep replaying the previous one until you finish it at a lower age.

With Update 1.08 from May 3, 2022, an Easy Mode was added. It comes with these benefits:

Student Difficulty (Easy Mode) :

  • More life and structure for the Main Character
  • Enemies are less aggressive
  • Enemies are less reactive in defense
  • Simplified patterns for various archetypes and bosses
  • The Death Counter cannot go beyond 1
  • Better shrine rewards

This Easy mode makes the game much easier, but you still need to complete it at the age of 25 or lower. So this is not a cakewalk.

Step 1: Play through the Story on Student difficulty & Get the Talismans

Start a New Game on Student and while playing the Prologue you can choose to play as Boy or Girl. It does not matter which one you choose, there is no difference between them and it does not change the Story. After the Prologue, you start at your house. Just play through the Story and don’t worry about both “Finish the game with age 25/50 or less” trophies just yet. You need to get familiar with the game first. So enjoy it and see this as your practice run. You can still replay each level after you complete it (e.g. to mop up collectibles later).

Try to unlock some permanent Skills, this will be useful when you go for the :gold: Prodigal Child Trophy.

Also, you should go for the Talismans in your first playthrough. You get a talisman from each boss at the end of every Mission when you spare the respective boss instead of killing them. Each boss gives one Talisman/Trophy. To spare bosses, do not kill them in their second phase with the Takedown ( :tr: +  :o: ), instead wait a few seconds until the prompt disappears and break their Structure again and you will see the option to spare their life with the left D-Pad :left: .

If your age gets too high, feel free to replay the previous mission via mission select. This will update your starting age for the next mission too. Example: if your first playthrough of Mission 1 was at Age 30, then you replay Mission 1 and finish it at Age 24, you will start Mission 2 at Age 24. This then makes the next mission somewhat easier because you go into it at a lower age. This applies to all missions. You can also farm XP for permanent skills via mission select which further helps to make it easier.

Step 2: Pick up Collectibles, Grind XP for Permanent Skill Unlocks, Practice every Mission

Pick up every collectible. There are overall 85 collectibles across all 5 Missions, needed to complete the “Detective Boards”. You need all 85 Collectibles for trophies, each mission rewards you with one trophy for having found all collectibles in it. Most of them are automatically unlocked from the story, so you don’t have to pick up too much after the story. As mentioned above you can replay every mission after you complete it once.

» Sifu Collectible Guide

It is recommended that you replay any mission you like to get more XP for permanent skill unlocks. This will also help for the next step. For example, when you played Mission 1 for the first time and finished it at the age of 30, you start Mission 2 at the age of 30. But if you replay Mission 1 and you finish it now at the age of 24, you start Mission 2 at the age of 24. This is the case with every Mission, so keep that in mind for the next step. If you replay a Mission you will lose the Shrine bonuses and skills not permanently unlocked, from your first playthrough of that mission.

Step 3: Finish the Story at Age 25 or Younger (Avoid Deaths)

This will be the hardest part on your way to Platinum. You have to finish the game at the age of 25 or less. It’s recommended that you practice each Mission until you can breeze through it. There are Shrines in each Mission where you can reset your Death Counter. As mentioned in Step 2, replaying a Mission via Mission Select and finishing it at a lower Age will update your starting age for the next mission as well (if your first playthrough of Mission 1 was at Age 30, then you replay Mission 1 and finish it at Age 24, you will start Mission 2 at Age 24).

It helps to back up your save regularly. If you die you can simply copy back your save. To back up your save:

Console Settings > Saved Data Management > Saved Data > Console Storage > Upload your save to PS+ Cloud [PS5/PS4] or USB flash drive [PS4 only]. If using PS+ cloud (the only option on PS5) make sure you have automatic save sync uploads disabled or else it could automatically overwrite your cloud save (PS5 Settings > Saved Data and Game/App Settings > Saved Data PS5 > Sync Saved Data > Auto-Sync Saved Data = Disabled). To copy back the save, go to Console Settings > Saved Data Management > Saved Data > PS+ or USB > Copy to Console Storage > Overwrite.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Scareless
Beat the game while being 50 years old or less.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
See trophy :gold: Prodigal Child
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Prodigal Child
Beat the game while being 25 years old or less.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
This will most likely be your last trophy for platinum. You start with the age of 20 and each Death increases your age. One Death adds one year, a second Death adds two years, a third Death adds three years, and so on. There are two ways to reduce your death count:

  • Shrines where you can reset your Death Count to 0 for 1000XP.
  • Also after each big fight (after each big group fight where lots of enemies fight against you, when killing elite enemies and after each Boss), your Death Count will reduce by 1.

A combo of blocking and using the leg sweep ( :l-down:  :l-up: +  :tr: ) is highly recommended. The leg sweep is almost broken because it brings most enemies to fall down and you can attack them on the ground while holding  :o: . Also, once you beat the game, you can replay earlier missions because when you first play a mission you will notice that some areas are locked and they will unlock once beating the game. This will open new paths to complete each mission even quicker and it will help to get fewer deaths.

You can make this easier by buying permanent skills first, so doing a few extra playthroughs in preparation for this will reduce the difficulty.

Replaying Missions via Mission Select also updates what age you will have at the start of the next Mission. For example, when you played Mission 1 for the first time and finished it at the age of 30, you start Mission 2 at the age of 30. But if you replay Mission 1 and you finish it now at the age of 24, you start Mission 2 at the age of 24.

The biggest help with this is to back up your save game regularly. If you die you can simply copy back your save. This makes the trophy much more doable but you should still do a few practice playthroughs until you know how to defeat all enemies. If you die all the time it would take too long to copy saves back and forth each time. If you need 5 playthroughs that is fine, practice the game as much as you need before attempting this trophy.

To back up & restore your save: Console Settings > Saved Data Management > Saved Data > Console Storage > Upload your save to PS+ Cloud [PS5/PS4] or USB flash drive [PS4 only].

Update: As of Patch 1.08 this can be done on easy difficulty which makes it vastly easier.

Climbing and going across the environment allows you to control the flow of the fight.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
You have to use the environment during a fight and jump over a few barricades or other obstacles. It can even be the same barricade over and over again. A good opportunity is the boss fight against Fajar in Mission 1 “The Squats”

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Dance of the Praying Mantis
Throwing enemies around makes handling big groups easier. (Ignored in training mode.)
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Street Fighting
Anything can be a weapon, so keep using your environment to your advantage. All is fair in such fights! (Ignored in training mode.)
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
You need the Environment Mastery Skill to get this trophy. It costs only 500XP. Once you bought it you will notice that you can throw some stuff off the ground into enemies. Do that whenever you can and the trophy will unlock.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Life is your teacher
Unlock your first skill.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
There are 25 Skills in total. Buy one of them and the trophy will unlock. To buy Skills you need XP and you earn XP by defeating enemies. You can buy skills in your apartment on the tree in the garden:

When you are dead (before reviving yourself), you can see and buy Skills on the right-hand side of the screen:

While at a Shrine, you have to press :sq: to open the skill tree. The cheapest Skills costs 500XP.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap State of constant learning
Permanently unlock a skill for the first time.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
To permanently unlock a skill you have to buy a Skill five times again after you unlocked it once. This means in total you need to buy a Skill six times. You pay always the same amount of XP, which means if a Skill costs 500XP to unlock once, you need another 2500XP to unlock it permanently.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Qi Gong: Mind
Receive the highest XP-based shrine reward for the first time.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
The highest XP-based shrine reward is the Death Count reset, which costs 1000XP. Whenever you find a shrine and you have 1000XP you can buy it. But you can only buy it two times total throughout your playthrough. Be aware that if you buy one shrine reward, you can not buy another reward on the same shrine. You can only get one reward per shrine.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Qi Gong: Breath
Receive the highest score-based shrine reward for the first time.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
The highest score-based reward is the Parry Impact and costs 4000 Score in Mission 1 and varies in each Mission, look down below to see how much it costs each Mission. You can buy it three times in total throughout the game. It increases the impact of Parry on an enemy’s Structure. The Structure is basically the Shield that you need to break to beat an enemy. Once the Structure breaks you can take down an enemy instantly with :tr: + :o: .  Your Score rises by defeating enemies and if you don’t get touched your multiplier goes up to 5, thus earning you more Score. You can raise your multiplier also by taunting your enemies with the right D-Pad :right2:

  • Mission 1 “The Squats”: 4000 Score
  • Mission 2 “The Club”: 5000 Score
  • Mission 3 “The Museum”: 8000 Score
  • Mission 4 “The Tower”: 5000 Score
  • Mission 5 “The Sanctuary”: 4000 Score
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Qi Gong: Essence
Receive the highest age-based shrine reward for the first time.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
The highest age-based shrine reward is the weapon durability. To buy it you just need to be age 25 or less. You can buy it three times in total throughout the game. It increases the weapon durability which is highly recommended to damage your opponent’s Structure. Weapons are very useful to defeat large groups of enemies.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap The 36th Chamber of Kung-Fu
Bare handed or with a weapon, standing up, against a wall, a ledge, or on the ground… Perform each takedown type at least once.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
To take down an enemy you need to break the Structure of your opponent, once the Structure breaks you can take down an enemy instantly with :tr: + :o: . Here is a list of what is needed for the trophy.

  1. Bare hands – Perform a takedown with your bare hands while an enemy is standing, near a wall, on the ground, and near a ledge (can be a table or a half wall) – 4 Takedowns
  2. Repeat EACH takedown from above with a bat, a staff weapon (broom or a long stick), and sharp weapon (Machete or Katana) – 12 Takedowns
  3. For the big fat enemies perform a takedown while they are standing, on the ground, and with a bat, a staff weapon (broom or a long stick), and sharp weapon (Machete or Katana), for the weapon kills you only need to do them while they are standing, because if they are on the ground, the takedown is always the same – 5 Takedowns
  4. last but not least, perform a running takedown on an enemy. When you can perform a takedown ( :tr: + :o: ) on an enemy, do not press it, instead, run into him with :r2: and press :tr:

That’s it. 22 Takedowns in total. Once you did them all, the trophy will unlock.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Master of the Phoenix Eye Fist
Use each Focus Attack at least once. (Ignored in introduction level.)
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
This is pretty straightforward. Once you used all Focus Attacks, the trophy unlocks right away. Keep in mind that you have to upgrade your Focus Bar at the shrines for 250XP and you need to buy this 4 times = 1000XP total because the Thigh Cut Focus requires 3 Focus Bars.

There are 8 Focus Attacks in total:

  1. Snake Eyes: unlocked automatically from the beginning.
  2. 360 Swing: this needs to be bought from the Skills Menu for 500XP (costs 2 Focus Bars)
  3. Strong Sweep: this needs to be bought from the Skills Menu for 500XP
  4. Face Smash: this needs to be bought from the Skills Menu for 500XP (Max age to unlock: 59, costs 2 Focus Bars)
  5. Double Palm: this needs to be bought from the Skills Menu for 500XP (Max age to unlock: 49, costs 2 Focus Bars)
  6. Vertical Strikes: this needs to be bought from the Skills Menu for 500XP (Max age to unlock: 39, costs 2 Focus Bars)
  7. Thigh Cut: this needs to be bought from the Skills Menu for 500XP (Max age to unlock: 29, costs 3 Focus Bars)
  8. Calbot Focus: this needs to be bought from the Skills Menu for 500XP (you need to unlock this move first, see :bronze:  Path of the Prospect how to unlock it)

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap I know Kung-Fu
Reach a level score of 3000.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
See trophy :silver: Ferocity, speed, strength, accuracy
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Ferocity, speed, strength, accuracy
Reach a level score of 5000.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
For this, you must get 5000 score in a single mission. You can not get 2000 Score in Mission 1 and 3000 in Mission 2 etc, it has to be in one single mission. It is best to get and keep a multiplier of 5 and beat a lot of enemies. You will lose your multiplier when going down or getting killed. You will most likely get this on your “Finish the game while being 25 or less” playthrough. To increase your age you can taunt your enemies with pressing :right: on the D-Pad. You can do this 5 times in a row to get a x5 multiplier.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Old Child
Reach your oldest appearance. Will you still have enough strength left to reach your goal?
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
You will get it once you get over the age of 78. Keep dying to increase your age.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Sword Stained With Blood
Successfully use a blade weapon’s one-shot attack on an enemy. (Ignored in training mode.)
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
To get this, you need the Charged Backfist Skill first. You can buy it for just 500XP. Now all you need is a bladed Weapon and an enemy. Weaken that enemy until he is nearly dead, now just hold :tr: with a bladed weapon in your hand so that you kill the enemy with your bladed weapon.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Lightning Hands
Perform 3 takedowns within 12 seconds. (Ignored in introduction level.)
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
You perform Takedowns by damaging your opponent’s Structure and pressing :tr: + :o: . In Mission 1 “The Squats” you will come across a long corridor with a lot of weak opponents. There you have a very good opportunity to weaken 3 opponents and defeat them with takedowns.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Kung-Fu Tussle
Hit 3 enemies in a single strike. (Ignored in introduction level.)
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
To do this you need to buy the 360 swing focus from the Skill tree. It is the first skill and costs 500XP. Now all you need is a big group of enemies and a staff weapon like a broom. In Mission 5 “The Sanctuary” right before the final boss you will fight some enemies. There is an enemy with a long weapon before the door to enter the boss area, first run into him with :r2:  and do a leg sweep with :tr: , take the weapon, and run down to the balcony where you also can throw enemies into the mountains. Make sure you have at least two focus bars (you can see it on the bottom left of your screen), hold :l2: , and choose the 360 swing focus with the :rs: when at least 3 enemies are around you.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Path of the Prospect
Unlock the mighty Calbot move.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
You can unlock this move in Mission 3 “The Museum”. When you first reach the fourth floor, turn to your right and go through both black gates.

After that go down the stairs to floor 3 and turn to your right and you will see a blue-haired lady watching a mask, defeat her.

Now just pick up the mask which will unlock the trophy and a new focus attack to buy

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Rumble in the Hangar
In the Squats, clear the hangar in less than 1 minute 20 seconds after being detected by the main group.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
You come across the hangar in Mission 1 “The Squats”. You can not miss it. It’s part of the Story. You should stay stealthy and kill the first 4 enemies without alerting anyone before you try this or else you might run out of time. The main group consists of 6 opponents, which are all in the middle of the warehouse.

Once you enter the warehouse, turn to your left and jump over the barricade & down the edge and kill the enemy there.

Turn to your right and jump down the ledge, turn to your left and watch out for the enemy there. You need to go to the right where the stairs are.

Before you go up the stairs kill the enemy on the left and go up the stairs.

Once you go up the stairs take the stairs on the right and walk up to the enemy slowly.

Walk a bit further and go to the stairs, there is an enemy on the left side, kill him.

After that jump down the ledge and kill the 6 enemies in the middle of the warehouse. Once they spot you, the timer begins. After you killed them all within the time limit the trophy will pop.

IMPORTANT: If you are using the shortcut to reach the warehouse faster it does NOT unlock the trophy even if you meet the requirements.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap The Pit Protector
In the Club’s pit, beat the Big Guy before any other enemy is beaten.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
You come across the Pit in Mission 2 “The Club” on your first playthrough, it is part of the Story, you can not miss it.

Jump down the pit and defeat the Big Guy before any of the other enemies.

It is not too difficult. Fully concentrate on him and unleash some combos and you will kill him really fast.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Be like water my friend
In the Museum, throw an enemy into the fountain from a higher floor.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
You can do this as soon as you enter the second floor. There are 2 weak enemies which you can throw into the fountain.

Make sure you stand on the edge of that barricade, weaken one of them and throw him with :sq: + :x: into the fountain,

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Take damage to save time
In the Tower’s caves, drop from a high point to get deeper faster.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Near the end of Mission 4 “The Tower” you  will reach the caves.

Now turn to your left and go down the stairs. Instead of going to the left go to the right and jump down the edge.

this will earn you the trophy. Be aware that this will kill you and you lose a life but you will respawn down there.

There are two more spots in the caves, this is just the first opportunity.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Warriors from the Mountain
In the Sanctuary, throw an enemy into the mountains.
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
Before you enter the boss fight, you have to kill a few enemies outside. There is your chance to get the trophy. Go down onto the balcony and weaken an enemy until you can takedown him, but instead of taking him down, press :sq: + :x: to throw him into the mountains.

Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap Come Snap With Me
Give the Photo Mode a shot!
Sifu Trophy Guide & Roadmap
The Photo Mode is accessible at any time. You just have to press  on the D-Pad, select Photo Mode and confirm it with :x: . It does not matter what settings you use with it. Once you select an Option and back out of it, the trophy will unlock.

Question on the trophy where you have to beat it at age 25 or less. You mentioned if you are at age 30 after mission one you can replay it and start mission 2 with a lower age.. Does this apply to the other 4 missions as well or just mission one. So if I die alone in mission 2, can I replay mission 2 again until I get a better outcome.

This applies to every mission. So yes you can replay mission 2/3/4 to get an lower age.

I have an idea about that. You probably have to spare from mission 1, then mission 2, then mission 3, then mission 4 and mission 5. I think you can not spare boss 2 before boss 1 etc.

And in ‘Kung-Fu Tussle’,the 360 swing needs 2 focus bar so how to do this in level 1?I unlock this achievement in level 5 and it took me quite a few time. It’s the last trophy I got.

You need to use all weapons to takedown while enemy is standing and on the ground

    • Vainseason says

      February 11, 2022 at 11:37 am

The weapons cover staff, broom, bat, pipe, stick, knife

The easy way to takedown on the ground; Choose a easy enemy(not a big guy or a Muay Thai man), fill enemy’s structure enough, enter L(down) + L(ip) + triangle, and you can fall the enemy knockdown on the ground. If you’re holding staff or broom, you will use it to fall the enemy. Bat, pipe, stick, or knife you will use your foot. Anyway after then, enter takedown buttons(△ + ○) while you’re holding weapon.

Regarding “Kung-Fu Tussle”, I’d like to suggest the Spin Hook Kick (△△-△). It can hit multiple target with the third hit. It can be a bit tricky to land on 3 people but the corridor fight in the Squats level has plenty of enemies so you can try many times.
Might be helpful since it’s very early into the level and doesn’t require any Focus.

What happens if you repeat a level (usually level 1) to get all the shrines (one can only get it by the shorcut) and then end with a worst age?

already got level one at 20 years old but it would be nice for the long run get the 4 shrines, do i need a perfect run? or can i just beat at 20 repeat to get the 4 shinres and get to the club with 20 and 4 shrines?

    Reply
    • Maximmillian says

      February 11, 2022 at 3:03 am

its not possible to get the 4 shrines if you use the shortcut.

only 3 going normal and max 2 if using shortcut (on stage 1)

… and if you already passed at AGE 20, that save is kind of locked, like for example:
finish stage 1 at AGE 20 with 3 Shrines unlocking the endurance passive
if you redo the stage one and get to stage 2 at AGE 20 again but use 3 Shrines to unlock the kill regen passive

… then in Stage 2 you will get the passives from the first run (if you restart the run). So, only way to get new passives in a new stage is only if you get there with the AGE below the first run (and since 20 is the minimum, its not possible to change anymore).

i got the 36th achievement after 11h of gameplay, needed to made a table in office to get this =P
    so …

there is a takedown as it says for each “place”, a wall, standing, ground and ledge (table, half wall, whatever). And the place is for the enemy, there is no takedown where you are on the ground and you do a crazy comeback … so the enemy that must be on the ground, at the wall as so on …

so i made a table and went checking each takedown,
1- barehand – enemy position: ground, standing, wall and ledge.
2- now repeat each one using a different weapon: staff, bat and a knife (for me it was the knife takedown at the ledge that was missing)
3- now repeat again each one but on the big fat enemies
(i think this enemies only has different takedowns when standing, for me all the takedowns on ground was the same no matter which weapon i had, at the wall and ledge too (maybe?), don’t remember now, just try, if see its different then do for each one)
    4- one takedown when running
5- and last just to be sure: one takedown for each boss (spec, since i did it after finish the game)

after redoing each one it popped for me.
    tips:
Sanctuary has all the weapons, and enemy types and its relative small map.
Probably the ones that are missing for you guys are the ledges one, especially for the knife and staff, so start with those ones.

I accidentally unlocked ‘Kung-Fu Tussle’ in a super easy way that doesn’t require any skills/weapons, might be helpful for anyone struggling to get it. In the hanger in level 1 let all the enemies there follow you up the stairs, while you’re standing up the stairs make sure that most of the enemies are near each other and still on the stairs, parry any of the enemies then throw them down the stairs using :sq: + :x:. If they hit 3 people while falling it’ll count for the trophy.

For “Legendary Talismans of Wuxing” trophy, should we start sparing bosses sequentially from Level 1? Or we could chapter select each level and then spare Yang the latest? I’m currently on Student difficulty, but unable to spare Yang in the end (so sad if I have to restart my game in Normal difficulty).

For the 36th takedown trophy, The Sanctuary is a pretty good place to try to get a lot of them. The ones I was missing were running and staff on fat guy takedowns
