Introduction

Welcome to the V Rising Trophy Guide! V Rising is a gothic open-world role-playing game that takes us into the dark world of vampires. There are a total of four acts to play through in the open world, which is divided into five large biomes. Version 1.0, which is also making its debut on PlayStation, is a relatively easy platinum, which can be achieved in around 15 hours thanks to custom server settings. For the Platinum trophy, you need to beat all the bosses and finally drink Dracula’s blood. After that, we only have a few more miscellaneous trophies to clean up. There are no missable trophies, so you can earn them all at any time, in any order. Once the last boss is defeated, there is also free roaming, so you can keep all progress and continue to explore the world.

Step 1: Finish the Story, defeat and drink the blood of every V-Blood Boss

The first step is to concentrate on killing all 57 V-Blood carriers, which are the bosses. They are divided into a total of 4 acts. If you are playing without custom server settings, you will need to adjust your equipment to match the level of the bosses. However, if you play with custom server settings, you can start the game with the maximum level including equipment, which makes the whole thing a breeze. The bosses are relatively easy to find once we have placed the Castle Heart in a construction area. Our first quests will automatically lead us to this location before the real hunt can begin. Once we have completed the ‘Lord of Shadows’ tutorial quest, we will unlock ‘Blood Tracking’ to locate the bosses. While hunting the V-Bloods you will automatically unlock the trophies for visiting all regions.

For all V-Blood locations during this step refer to V Rising All V-Blood Locations (Bosses).

Step 2: Collector of Forgotten Lore I, II and III

After you’ve made it through the story and killed all of the V-Blood carriers, you should already have most of the trophies unlocked.
Most of the remaining trophies can be done quickly. Collector of Forgotten Lore I, II and III trophies will take the longest as they require a lot of paper farming.

For these trophies we need a total of 2,150 papers, 3,975 scrolls and 4,500 schematics.

We also have to build the Research Desk, Study table and the Anatheum in our castle. Here we will find lots of unknown production recipes that we can unlock. Normally this is done through books, which we can find randomly in the world or exchange with traders. To speed up progress, we farm the materials mentioned above, which can be finished in about 3 hours.

  • Step 2.1: Complete the Research Desk

To get paper quickly, we build the paper press in our castle to speed up progress. Here we use plant fibre and sawdust to produce paper until we have the desired quantity. We then interact with the Research Desk to insert all the collected paper to obtain the recipes more quickly. Once all the recipes have been unlocked, the trophy is ours. This trophy is also awarded to all co-op players as soon as they interact with the desk.

  • Step 2.2: Complete the Study table

To get scrolls quickly, we use the paper press again to speed up progress. Here we use paper and coarse threads. Coarse threads can be farmed in Farbane Woods and Dunley Farmlands. To speed this up, we can build Loom in our castle. Here we place plant fibre and pollen to get coarse threads. After that, we produce scrolls until we have the desired quantity. We then interact with the Study table to insert all the collected scrolls to obtain the recipes more quickly. Once all the recipes have been unlocked, the trophy is ours. This trophy is also awarded to all co-op players as soon as they interact with the desk.

  • Step 2.3: Complete the Anatheum

To get schematics quickly, we use the paper press again to speed up progress. Here we use the scrolls and this time Tech Scraps. Tech Scraps can be farmed all over in Gloomrot by defeating enemies or destroying Scrap Piles. We can’t speed this up this time. If we have enough Tech Scraps, we produce schematics until we have the desired quantity. We then interact with the Anatheum to insert all the collected scrolls to obtain the recipes more quickly. Once all the recipes have been unlocked, the trophy is ours. This trophy is also awarded to all co-op players as soon as they interact with the desk.

Step 3: Miscellaneous Trophies

Now let’s take care of the last batch of trophies like A Perfect Test Subject, An Eye for Quality, Exquisite Blood. These can be wonderfully combined. Unfortunately, the trophies are a bit RNG dependent, so we need a bit of luck, but it doesn’t take that long. Even if you’re not lucky, it’ll only take about an hour.

  • Step 3.1: A Perfect Test Subject Trophy

First, we focus on the Perfect Test Subject trophy by building the maximum number of cells in our castle. Then we go to large cities and use the Dominating Presence ability when we see people with blood quality above 90%. Ideally, 97-100% would make things easier. Then we send the prisoners to our cell and feed them gruel. Unfortunately, there is always a 35% chance that the captive will mutate, but since we stuff all the cells, we have several chances to get the trophy. Once a prisoner reaches 100% through the gruel, the trophy is ours. Important: Don’t kill the prisoner yet!

  • Step 3.2: An Eye for Quality Trophy

Once we have a captive with 100% blood quality, we can use the Dominate skill to claim it. Once we have the trophy, we send the prisoner back to the cell for our last trophy.

  • Step 3.3: Exquisite Blood & Blood donor Trophy

This trophy is quickly done. As we have already dominated our captive, we cannot drink its blood while it is still alive. To do this, we interact with the cell and drain the remaining blood in the bottle, so that we can carry the 100% quality with us. We then drink the blood and the trophy Exquisite Blood and Blood donor is finally ours and along with it the Platinum.

I do wish they put a trophy locked behind difficulty though. Being able to ‘cheese’ the settings and blast the Platinum is good for hunting of course. But the game is great so being pushed in difficulty would’ve been nice.

If you fancy embracing the game, do go for Brutal. Of course it’s way harder and a lot slower but you get to experience the game.
