In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK), you can Fuse Items and Materials to Melee Weapons. However, what the game doesn’t explain so well is how to unfuse them. Often times you will find already fused items but they aren’t very strong and would benefit from being refused with a stronger item.
Here’s how you do it: Press the “+ Button” to open the Menu > Navigate to the Weapons Tab > Click on the Fused Weapon > Click “Destroy Fused Material”.
That’s all there is to it.
Do note that the previously fused item gets destroyed when unfusing it. The weapon itself won’t be lost and can be refused with other materials again. Remember that stronger enemies drop stronger fusion parts. The damage an item adds when fused is displayed in the Item Menu, when scrolling over an item it’s in the “Fuse Attack Power” field below the weapon name. The weapons base damage can be seen in the Weapon Menu and Weapon Quick Select.
The fused part adds its damage value to the base weapons damage value. There can also be additional damage boosters depending on the parts used and the resulting weapon.
