Introduction

Welcome to the Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Trophy Guide! Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is a spinoff of the main Like a Dragon series, occurring after the events of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth with Goro Majima as the main character. From a content perspective the game is much closer to Like a Dragon: Gaiden, being smaller in scale and story length and returning to the real time action combat from before Ichiban’s games.

Trophy-wise the game is very similar to Gaiden in that you need to finish the story and most of the unique side content, but not requiring you to spend a bunch of time playing the traditional or repeated minigames and grinding for completion. There is also no difficulty or NG+ requirement, so you can play how you like for a single playthrough of the game.

Step 1: Complete the Story

Your first step in the game will be completing the main story. There are no missables, so you can do as much or as little of the side content as you like while you progress.

Step 2: Complete Devil Flags and Pirates’ Coliseum side activities

Next, you will want to work on the Devil Flags and Pirates Coliseum side activities. The Devil Flags side story involves sailing the seas around Hawaii and dealing with a roaming band of pirates. The Pirates Coliseum works similar to the Coliseum in Gaiden, where you use your unlocked crew members in contained arena battles. You will need to complete the Devil Flags story to unlock all of the Pirates’ Coliseum matches. You need to complete all of these to face the Amon Pirates, so it is recommended you work on finishing the Devil Flags section first.

Step 3: Clean up remaining Trophies

Once you have completed the Coliseum, you may only have a handful of trophies left to clean up due to no 100% completion requirement.

Summon the gods with dark instruments 30 times.
Bronze
After unlocking the first dark instrument during Chapter 2, you will then need to use any of them a cumulative total of 30 times to earn this trophy.

The Madness Gauge charges slowly on its own, so make sure to buy the abilities that increase the gauge by larger amounts when you do specific actions such as hitting groups of enemies with the cutlass boomerang, and make sure to always use heat actions when available as they increase the gauge a significant amount.

You can see how many times you’ve used dark instruments in the Challenges > Battle menu under the Pirate’s Dirge/Captain’s Dirge/Sea God’s Dirge challenges at the very bottom of the list.

While working on other activities and obtaining treasure you will almost certainly reach this without trying, so you don’t need to go out of your way to complete challenges early unless you want to.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Trophy Guide Welcome to the Goro Pirates!
Recruited 30 members to the Goro Pirates.
Bronze
This trophy is awarded for recruiting a total of 30 members to the Goro Pirates.

Crew members around the city are marked on the map along with displaying their recruitment requirement. Some crew members can also be obtained through minigame point exchanges or by completing substories. There are a total of 107 possible crew members to obtain throughout the game.

Crew members available through Scouting have a section in the Tasks menu that lists all possible crew members, their current location, and their scouting requirements. If they currently don’t show info that means they aren’t yet available at the point of the game you are.

Note that if you own the deluxe version of the game or individual DLCs that give crew members these also seem to count toward the totals for these trophies. Your current number of Crew Members is displayed in the Pirate Crew Info in the main pause menu.

Bronze
This trophy is awarded for completing all Drink Links with the 4 remaining ship crew members. Each of the crew only has 5 Bond Chats which need to be completed, followed by a single Drink Link event. The crew Bond Chats occur in the water while piloting the ship, and are displayed on the map as soon as they are available the same as with Noah. You can then complete the Bond event in the interior of the Goromaru.

Jason and Masaru’s bonds are available as soon as you have access to Noah’s but the remaining three crew members are in Chapter 3 and right at the start of Chapter 4.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Trophy Guide New Star of the Coliseum
Won 10 different matches in the Pirates’ Coliseum.
Bronze
This trophy is awarded for winning 10 different matches in the Pirates’ Coliseum.

The Pirates’ Coliseum is unlocked near the end of Chapter 2, and functions similarly to the Coliseum in “Like a Dragon: Gaiden”. Using your ship and boarding crews you fight against groups of enemies in various fights, with increasing cash rewards the higher the difficulty.

You are required to complete all matches to be able to fight the Amon Pirates, so you will earn these three trophies while working toward that requirement.

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Trophy Guide Ace of the Coliseum

This trophy is awarded for winning 20 different matches in the Pirates’ Coliseum.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Trophy Guide Master of the Coliseum
Won 30 different matches in the Pirates’ Coliseum.
Bronze
This trophy is awarded for winning 30 different matches in the Pirates’ Coliseum.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Trophy Guide Legend of the Coliseum
Defeated the Amon Pirates.
Silver
This trophy is awarded for defeating the Amon Pirates, the pirate version of the traditional hidden boss of the series. To unlock the fight against the Amon Pirates you must complete ALL other Coliseum matches, which also requires completing the Devil Flags side story as beating each officer and the leader unlock a new match in the rightmost Coliseum match set. Once you have completed all of these you can challenge the Amon Pirates.

Before starting the challenge make sure that you have yourself and your ship fully upgraded. For the ship the Super Laser Cannon, and Energy Cannon are good options. For the Machine Gun if you can craft it the Super Coconut Machine Gun is great, but if not either the highest level Gatling Gun or Frost Machine Gun.

During the ship battle you only fight against Amon’s ship, with it having a total of 10,000 health. Watch for when they fire rockets at the start and boost fast them, then try to focus their stern with your machine guns to stop their movement. You can then quickly get alongside and deal damage with your guns. They fire weapons much more quickly than other ships, so once they are active again watch for attacks and boost out of the way. Watch for if you are set on fire, then switch to deck view and pop smoke to stop them attacking, then shoot a couple rockets before switching back to driving the ship.

The deck fight is against 50 enemies. If you go in with full Madness immediately use the shark attack to thin out some enemies, then try to use the pistol heat attack to clear out some more. Watch out for the other named enemies aside from Amon, as they can gang up on you and take you down very quickly even on Beginner. Amon will use a deck ability early which will cause all enemies to deal area damage around them, which you want to try and block as soon as he performs it. Use your deck ability as soon as it’s available, and try to deal with all the weak enemies so only Amon is left. If you get to this point without getting knocked out he goes down easy as he doesn’t have a huge amount of health on his own.

Amon wants a one-on-one fight now, which you can prepare for before starting. This is a normal fight like other story bosses, so you can take a trip to Hawaii and fill your inventory with healing items before accepting. Save your Madness attack for when he spawns clones, where you then want to use the shark attack as soon as possible to help clear them out. Watch out as he will summon flying knives at the same time which you will need to block. Watch your health at the same time, because if you fail to block them you will take a lot of damage very quickly. He will only summon the clones once so when you can clear them out he is much easier to deal with, but watch for the knives as he will keep summoning them, though he won’t attack you while the knives are out so if the clones are all gone you can just stand and guard against them.

Silver
This trophy is awarded for defeating the leader of the Devil Flags.

After beating the third Devil Flags officer you will need to reach Pirate Rank 5 and acquire at least 330 flags to challenge the leader.

The Final Heaven area has no treasure or extra Devils Flag fleet to fight, so if you want you can just drive through the area ignoring the other groups of enemy ships. Make sure before you progress past the second lighthouse you have set your crew and ship up with your current strongest options. When you reach the island keeping a full madness gauge is helpful to launch sharks right at the start of the fight to deal with most of the weaker enemies, then you can focus hard on Captain Zeus.

Bronze
In Chapter 1 you are introduced to the Goro Kingdom on Rich Island, where your pets live and can be interacted with. You obtain 3 pets automatically during the story, while the others are obtained by going to the paw print locations that are marked on the map after obtaining the cat Onigiri in Chapter 2.

Obtained 2 balls.
Bronze
At the start of Chapter 3, you are automatically given the substory When You Wish Upon Some Balls by Captain Beef. He tells you about 7 hidden golden balls that a contact is requesting, and if you find all of them he will grant a wish. The balls don’t appear in the game before you are given this substory, so you cannot earn this trophy until then.

Very unlikely, only Lost Judgment has received post launch DLC that included trophies, and that was announced when the game came out.

Thank’s for posting this trophy guide, glad it doesn’t have 100% challenges and no difficulty trophies and everything can be completed in premium adventure.

Depending on where you are in the story there might be one or two that don’t show up due to time of day, try progressing the story and it will probably show up when time of day changes. If you’re finished the story then try changing time of day at Revolve.
