Introduction
Welcome to the SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Trophy Guide! SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake is a 3D platformer, the sequel to 2020’s SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. Given the genre, you can expect lots of collectibles and colorful worlds. The game plays very similarly to the title from 2020. The hub: Bikini Bottom, gives you access to 7 different levels. Each level has to be played at least twice, once for the story and a second time to pick up some collectibles that only spawn once the level has been cleared once. Additionally, many Coins, the collectibles needed to unlock more costumes for purchase, cannot be picked up during your first visit through the levels as many of these are locked behind abilities solely earned through story progression. What’s different from the 2020 title are the boss-specific trophies, asking you to beat the bosses with certain requirements. In addition to these, you have some combat-related trophies and a couple of miscellaneous ones.
Step 1: Finish the Story
During this step, just focus on enjoying and finishing the story. As you complete each level, you will unlock most combat-related trophies naturally. The ones you don’t unlock can be easily and quickly farmed in specific places in the game, so it’s recommended leaving them for Step 4. As you explore the levels the first time, try to remember breaking every possible object and tiki you see, and collect as many Jellies as possible. You will need 12,000 Jellies to be able to purchase all Costumes. Additionally, refer to SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Collectibles Guide to learn the location of all secret items (Golden Spatulas) and the Coins (needed to unlock higher costume tiers and thus make the costumes available for purchase). Get what you can, but don’t stress out too much if you leave something behind. Some coins cannot be collected altogether since you need specific abilities that are unlocked only as you play through the story, so leave these for Step 2. All trophy-relevant boss sections are replayable after beating the full story so don’t worry about their trophies for now.
Step 2: Level-Specific Side Quest Collectibles, Remaining Coins, All Costumes
Every time you complete a level, you will be able to talk to specific NPCs in the hub world (Bikini Bottom). These are marked by a flag icon and talking to them triggers a collectible-specific side quest. These quests require you to find a collectible type in each level that unlocks only after visiting a level for the first time. In fact, you won’t find these collectibles on your first run through the levels. These collectibles are needed for Wanna see me do it again?. Check SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake Collectibles Guide for the locations of these collectibles. Combine this step with the coins you couldn’t get during your first visit of the levels. Once you’ve collected all Coins in each level and unlocked Wanna see me do it again?, purchase all available Costumes in the game for Fashion Hunter.
Step 3: Boss-Specific Trophies
Here’s where things get more difficult. Most of these trophies are very annoying. They’re not really difficult, but the process leading up to them is very tedious. It is encouraged to leave these trophies for when you’re experienced enough with the game mechanics and have played through the bosses at least once and especially are confident enough with their patterns. Once you’ve cleared a level for the first time, you can immediately reload any checkpoint from the Pause menu by selecting a level and then the checkpoint you want, in this specific case the last one. It should, however, be pointed out that bosses can only be replayed once you’ve finished the game once. The main reason why obtaining these trophies is cumbersome is because you cannot immediately reload the checkpoint or a save upon failing and killing yourself doesn’t work either. All of these trophies must be unlocked in one single, uninterrupted and clean go. Every time you fail, you must pause the game, quit out to the main menu and then hit Continue. Another reason why getting these trophies is very annoying is that sometimes, like for level Pirate Goo Lagoon, the boss checkpoint is minutes before the actual boss.
Step 4: Combat and Miscellaneous Trophies Clean-Up
By now you probably should be left with a bunch of combat and miscellaneous trophies to unlock. Refer to their descriptions to find out farming spots for the combat-related trophies and where to get all the miscellaneous ones.

Volley King Defeat 10 Baby Booms by reflecting their missile |
||
Baby Booms are an enemy type first appearing in Pirate Goo Lagoon. The very first one can be found aboard the ship near the start of the level (unmissable, story-related path). All you have to do to unlock this trophy is press as the missile is about to hit you. This way you’ll return it to sender. Rinse and repeat for another 9 Baby Booms to unlock this trophy.
Jaws with Flaws Defeat 10 enemies with the Burrower |
||
The Burrower is a giant worm-type enemy that first appears in Prehistoric Kelp Forest. To defeat 10 enemies with the Burrowers, have it follow you around other enemies when he hides in the ground. If you’ve done things correctly, the Burrower should damage or instantly kill the surrounding enemies. A good farming spot is in Bikini Bottom, right opposite the pineapple house. The Burrower here spawns after completing Prehistoric Kelp Forest.
Wrath-tub Defeat 25 enemies with the Big Jelly’s attack |
||
The Big Jelly is a bigger enemy wielding a bathtub and can be found in most levels, especially in enclosed areas. Have it follow you and make sure you’re close to smaller, weaker enemies, so that when he slams his bathtub on the ground, he will hit the surrounding enemies. A good farming spot is next to Sandy’s house in Bikini Bottom.
The Good, the Bad and the Krabby Catch Mr. Krabs in under 3 minutes |
||
Mr. Krabs is Wild West Jellyfish Fields’ boss fight. Catching him in under 3 minutes is not a walk in the park. The time is very tight and even the slightest mistake can result in a fail. You can be sure that getting hurt or, worse, killed means having to start over. So, during the seahorse riding section, spam at all times and keep corners to save a bit of time. During the train section, alternatively use and to gain a bit of a boost. Killing enemies isn’t required and is a major time waste, so immediately aim for doors or the buttons that open them. You can jump-glide over the gaps you would otherwise tiptoe on and you don’t need to inflate the platforms during the moving thorn panels. As for the last section, simply hit any enemy and this will trigger the switch at the end of the wagon. Press it and the chase will be over. If you’ve done all of this in less than 3 minutes, you’ll get this very annoying trophy.
Kah-Rah-Tay King Don’t take damage during the Sandy boss fight |
||
Sandy is Karate Downtown Bikini Bottom’s boss fight. The fight spans over three phases:
Phase 1: as soon as the fight starts, do nothing, but do NOT stand on the glowing platform that is about to flip over. Skip the cutscene and then immediately hide behind the stack of dynamite and wait for Sandy to crash into it. Then, karate kick her to remove one health bar. Once you’ve damaged her, she will spawn some enemies, including some Ninjellies. Ninjellis can be particularly tricky here as they will constantly dash at and try to hurt you. Stand close to the arena walls and let the Ninjellies crash into them. This will automatically stun them allowing you to finish them off. The other enemy type shouldn’t be too much of an issue to deal with. Once all enemies are eliminated, be ready to get behind (but NOT on) one of the glowing platforms and wait for Sandy to crash into the stack of dynamite again, then karate kick her. Phase 2: now Sandy will topple and spin her wheel. Simply dodge as it comes rushing towards you and you’ll be fine. She will then spawn the same enemy types, so use the wall strategy from phase one and you’ll be fine. Again, wait behind of the glowing platforms and for Sandy to crash into the stack of dynamite, then karate kick her. Phase 3: as soon as phase 3 starts, she will spawn some human enemies who will spin around the arena, trying to hit you. Here you need to quickly find a spot in between the human enemies so that they don’t get you. The human enemies will spin around the arena twice, each time in a different direction. Once they’re done, get behind a glowing platform and wait for Sandy to crash into the stack of dynamite, then karate kick her to finish the fight. Sandy per se is not the annoyance in this fight. It’s more about finding a strategy to deal with the mob in between each phase that actually poses a challenge. Use the strategies outlined above and you’ll eventually unlock this trophy. |
||
Deck Scrubber Reclaim the Dutchman’s ship within 5 minutes during the boss fight |
||
The Dutchman’s ship is Pirate Goo Lagoon’s boss fight. To unlock this trophy, you need to defeat three waves of enemies. Defeating each wave allows you proceed upper deck, with the final wave allowing you to end the level. This time the time requirement is a bit more lenient, but you should still take care of bigger enemies first, taking longer to eliminate. Unfortunately, if you fail, you need to reload the last checkpoint, Admiral Prawn, which is a bit further back than the actual ship. When you’ve defeated all wave enemies, you’ll unlock this trophy.
Pet you didn’t see that coming Don’t get seen by King Gary during the boss fight |
||
King Gary is Halloween Rock Bottom’s boss fight. During the boss fight, King Gary will try to freeze you with his gaze and you’ll have to reach and hit three vending machines, each on a different floor of the building, to end the fight. In order to unlock the trophy you can’t get frozen by his gaze. You’re allowed to get spotted for a split second as long as you don’t get stuck in his gaze. Even if the light of his gaze turns red, you’re fine. Take your time behind handrails, columns, moving snails, let enemies come to you, and you’ll be fine.
Dehydrated Evade all of Pom Pom’s shockwaves during the Boss fight |
||
Pom Pom is Prehistoric Kelp Forest’s boss fight. During the boss fight, you have to avoid all sand shockwaves. These are fairly easy to dodge and shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge as long as you don’t focus too long on the enemies. It’s better to ignore them. It’s okay to get hit by the moving water jets.
Knight in shining PJs Deliver all cakes without getting hit once |
||
Delivering all cakes is Medieval Sulfur Field’s boss fight. During this fight, you’ll need to deliver a bunch of cakes to the guests around the tables while being chased by enemies and a witch casting a stunning spell. For this trophy, it’s okay to get stunned by the witch’s spell, but you can’t get hit by the enemies. A good strategy to unlock this trophy is make a cake, leave it where it spawns, clear the area of enemies, and then serve it. Since you can’t jump while waiting on tables, it’s better to have an area that is as empty of enemies as possible. Of all boss-specific trophies, this isn’t too bad. Just take your time and you’ll be fine.
Splash Zone Have Glovey Glove defeat 20 enemies during the boss fight |
||
Glovey Glove is Jelly Glove World’s boss fight. During this fight, you’ll have to charge the Reef Blower by sucking enemies into it and then shoot it at Glovey Glove. During the fight, the boss will try to hurt you by casting goo into the arena. Simply have some minions follow you, making sure they land on and around the goo silhouettes. Rinse and repeat until you unlock this trophy. Probably the easiest of the boss-specific trophies.
Tentacle Dodger Don’t get hit by Jelly Squidward’s tentacles during the boss fight |
||
Jelly Squidward is the final boss fight in the game. Between each phase, he will try to hurt you by smashing his tentacles on the ground. Similarly to the boss fight against Pom Pom, simply use your jump abilities to avoid the shockwaves and you’ll be fine. Another relatively easy boss-specific trophy compared to some of the others.
Return to Sender Defeat 5 Jelly Makers by knocking other enemies into them |
||
Jelly Makers are an enemy type first encountered in Wild West Jellyfish Fields. They always spawn smaller minions unless killed. To obtain this trophy, all you have to do is hit a small minion and direct it at the Jelly maker body. You can weaken the Jelly Maker twice as long as they die from a minion. A good place to farm this is during the puffer fish section at the end of Wild West Jellyfish Fields. Right at the start of the section there is one single Jelly Maker and no other enemies around that can bother you. Once you’ve killed, kill yourself until all underwears are gone, rinse and repeat until the trophy pops.
Stunning Performance Push 50 enemies with the Jelly Maker roar |
||
One of the enemies in Wild West Jellyfish Fields is a big blob of pink goo that spawns smaller minions. This enemy is called the Jelly Maker and one of his attacks is the roar, a wave that stuns you and everything that hits. This trophy will almost certainly unlock naturally during your first visit of Wild West Jellyfish Fields since the Jelly Maker always spawns near other, smaller enemies. Lure the smaller enemies near the Jelly Maker for additional kills.
Friendly Fire Defeat a Big Jelly with the Baby Boom projectile |
||
The best place to unlock this trophy is Pirate Goo Lagoon. When you reach the sandcastle (unmissable, story-related event), you’ll have to defeat a bunch of enemies in order to progress. One of these two enemies are a Big Jelly and Baby Boom, both in close proximity to one another. Simply position yourself behind the Big Jelly and the missiles will eventually hit him. Repeat this twice to completely empty the Big Kelly’s health bar and you’ll unlock this trophy.
Bubble the Trouble Bubble 10 Tartar Jellies that are currently engaged in an attack |
||
Tartar Jellies are an enemy type that can be found in Wild West Jellyfish Fields. These enemies shoot white goo at you from the bottle they’re wearing, but can easily be killed with a spin attack. However, this trophy requires you to bubble them first. So, when you see one attacking you, cast a bubble with . Provided you don’t kill them with a spin attack and bubble them first, this trophy will come relatively naturally as you explore Wild West Jellyfish Fields for the first time.
Hazardous Defeat 25 Ninjellies with environmental hazards |
||
Ninjellies first appear in the level Karate Downtown Bikini Bottom. These are very small enemies, dashing at you to attack you and require the use of the Karate Kick in order to stun and then kill them. This trophy will unlock almost certainly as you play, so don’t worry too much about it.
Sponge out of Harm’s Way Defeat 50 enemies without taking damage inflicted by them |
||
These don’t have to be 50 consecutive kills without getting damaged. This trophy will unlock naturally over the course of the game, so don’t even worry about it.
Bamboozled Bubble an enemy that hasn’t detected SpongeBob yet |
||
Bubbling is an unmissable, story-related unlock and allows SpongeBob to temporarily lock an enemy in place and stun them. The first opportunity to obtain this trophy is right after unlocking bubbling in the level Wild West Jellyfish Fields. Ride the platform and then look down to find two enemies. From the ledge you’re on, approach the one closest to you making sure you’re not detected and a bubble icon should pop above the enemy’s head. When it does, press to cast a bubble, imprison the enemy and unlock this trophy. Doing so will also unlock an award.
SpongeBob JellyPants Carry 10000 Jellies at once |
||
In order to avoid grinding for Jellies later on, it’s recommended to not purchase any costumes until you’ve reached 10,000 Jellies. Once you have, this trophy will unlock and you can then start buying costumes.
Jellyfish Hunter Catch 50 Jellyfish |
||
Jellyfish are found throughout all levels and are small enemies charging up to then release a small shockwave. Simply press when you’re close to one to catch it. Unless you willingly ignore them, this trophy will almost certainly unlock naturally as you play, so don’t stress out too much about it.
Sponginator Destroy 500 objects |
||
On your adventures you will come across many types of destructible objects. Some of these are hay bales, crates, barrels, fences, posters. Simply destroy everything you can as you explore each level and you will unlock this trophy fairly soon in the game.
King of Bubbles Bubble 100 enemies |
||
Bubbling is an ability first unlocked in Wild West Jellyfish Fields. To use it, press when you see the bubble icon above an enemy’s head. SpongeBob will then release a bubble that imprisons the enemy, leaving it vulnerable for further attacks. For this trophy, you simply need to bubble 100 enemies, no need to kill them.
The Way of the Sponge Karate Kick 100 enemies |
||
The Karate Kick ability is an unmissable, story-related unlock during the level Karate Downtown Bikini Bottom. When you get close to an enemy, you’ll see a kick icon above their head. This means that you can perform a kick by pressing and then . The Karate Kick is one of the most effective and fastest ways to get rid of enemies. You will use this ability a lot, so don’t worry too much about this trophy.
Red and Shiny Press 50 buttons |
||
On your adventures you will come across buttons needed to progress onward in the levels you visit. Pressing 50 buttons will come automatically as you play through the story, so you needn’t worry about this trophy. Alternatively, you can farm this on the same button provided that it can be pressed again. If you want to farm this, you can do so in the level Wild West Jellyfish Fields, right after unlocking the bubbling ability.
Boxing Champion Destroy 1000 Tikis |
||
Tikis reward you with Jellies, the game currency. These are everywhere and respawn upon death or replaying a level. This trophy will uncle naturally over the course of the game, so don’t worry about it.
Spring Cleaning Suck in a total of 100 enemies with the Reef Blower |
||
The Reef Blower is an unmissable, story-related unlock during the level Jelly Glove World. To suck an enemy, simply hold . Rinse and repeat until the trophy pops. If you need to farm this, a good spot is during the second phase of the Glovey Glove boss fight. During this phase, there are two boxer enemies spawning infinitely and a Baby Boom continuously shooting projectiles at you which count towards the trophy.
Is it a plane? Is it a pizza? Glide 1000 meters throughout the game |
||
On your way to the first portal in the game, you will unlock the pizza box which grants you the ability to glide. You will glide a lot in this game, so don’t worry about this trophy. It will unlock naturally.
BounceBob Jump 10 times in a row on one Jump Pad |
||
Jump Pads are lifebuoy bouncy pads found in specific areas of the hub and levels. The first opportunity to unlock this trophy is right at the start of the game, in the hub world, after helping Sandy clear her garden of the tiki heads. Thereafter, you have to get back to Patrick’s and in order to do so you have to spin-press a button to reveal a lifebuoy pad which will allow you to go back to him. Simply jump on the lifebuoy 10 times in a row to unlock this trophy as well an award.

Wanted Sponge Hit 25 NPCs |
||
You don’t need to hit 25 different NPCs, but you can hit the same NPC 25 times. The first opportunity to do this is right at the start of the game, with the NPC on your right. Once you’ve hit an NPC 25 times, you’ll unlock this trophy and the award. Alternatively, play through the game as normal and hit everyone you come across with and you’ll unlock this trophy early on.
Beach Spinster Spin 6 Beach Umbrellas at once |
||
Level: Pirate Goo Lagoon
This trophy can be unlocked in the level Pirate Goo Lagoon. Shortly after the beginning of the level, you’ll meet Flying Dutchman, the ghost of a green pirate. On the same island are several umbrellas that when hit start spinning. For this trophy, you need to hit 6 different beach umbrellas and make sure they’re all spinning simultaneously. The fastest and easiest way to unlock this trophy is to go from umbrella to umbrella and hit them all. Since there are more than 6 umbrellas on the beach, eventually 6 of them will be spinning at the same time. |
||
Music Enthusiast Listen to a Slamvil perform a solo in peace and quiet |
||
Level: Pirate Goo Lagoon
A Slamvil can be found in the level Pirate Goo Lagoon. Load the Scurvy Swamp checkpoint and drop down below. Swing to the middle tree using the hooks and head left. This is a Slamvil and soon as you get close to him, you’ll unlock this trophy. |

Thank you for the trophy guide. I wasn’t even sure if this game was getting a trophy guide, but I’m glad it did. The game would probably be better without these annoying boss trophies that I’m not looking forward to earning. However, the game looks good, Platinum trophy difficulty is reasonable, length is fair and price is right (£34.99 or less) so I’m probably buying this game next.

How do you replay the Mr. Krabs Boss Fight. How to trigger this fight. Because there is a portal in front of the wooden lift to end the level.

You can replay it after the story.

hi there,
will you be doing a guide for Wild hearts

Im having problems getting back to the mr krabs chase sequence. How do you get back there?
PowerPyx says
After beating the full story.

After finishing a level, it does not allow you to fight the boss again. There is just a portal that takes you right back to Bikini Bottom. So I wouldn’t say 0 missable, since it seems those would require additional playthroughs.
PowerPyx says
You can replay them after the story.

8 trophies are glitched for me. 3 boss ones, the jumping pad one and some misc combat ones. They’ve unlocked as awards but not as trophies.
Re-doing them didn’t help.
Anonymous says
That’s annoying, Purple Lamp should’ve made sure there were no glitched trophies. I guess I’m lucky that my current game is going to take quite a while to finish, so hopefully they will patch all glitched trophies by the time I play this game.
Drew says
Which bosses and did you get it to work?
Pez says
Deck scrubber is one of them. Also the ones for catch Mr Crabs in 3 minutes and not take damage from Sandy.
I reinstalled the game but it didn’t help. Did you figure it out?
Drew says
Deck Scrubber is definitely glitched. I have redone it and timed myself clearing it easily under 4-minutes…nothing popped. Probably should adjust the guide.
PowerPyx says
I’m not sure if this is glitched for other players too? It’s obtainable at least, could be an individual glitch if something went wrong with trophy set install.
I’d suggest reinstalling the game. Sometimes there are issues with the trophy set install when first booting up the game. A reinstall can help fix it. Must redo the trophy requirement afterward to pop it. I have this too sometimes that a trophy won’t unlock for me despite working fine for everyone else and reinstall usually fixes it for me. Hope that helps in your case.
For anyone else reading this – please feel free to leave a comment if you encounter bugged trophies, the more reports we have the better we can drill down on what trophies have widespread issues and will update it in the guide accordingly.

I beat the whole run from the beach and destroyed every enemy in 3mins 45secs…trophy would not pop. Re-installed and it worked just fine.

‘PS4/PS5 Crossbuy: No, the game is only available on PS4’
This information is not true anymore, since there is a PS5 version.
PowerPyx says
Thanks, updated! Do you know if they’ve added save transfer/auto pop too?
Xeneise says
One question, you say 12,000 jellies are needed for buying all costumes. However, I’ve spent 13,000 and still have like 7 or 8 more to unlock… did they change the price of the costumes in recent updates?
I’m playing the PS5 version if that matters, maybe the price of costumes is different than the PS4 version.
Buubi says
They patched it and you need a total of 28,000 for all costumes now
