Boss Fights for Cyberpunk 2077 are confirmed! While the full list of bosses is still unknown, at least one of them, called “Royce” was shown at the Gamescom 2018 demo behind-closed-doors (a press-only event).
The demo featured the hideout of a group of arms dealers. You can either play it cool and side with this faction by giving them a chip that contains 50,000 credits. Or you can do the same but turn around and kill them all to get the chip back. Then their leader “Royce” runs away and turns into a boss fight at the end of the area.
It would appear that this makes many bosses optional or even missable, considering they depend on your long-term choices. There are usually multiple ways to accomplish a goal, so doing it one way will make you miss out on the other gameplay branch.
At least we know bosses will be in the game. Royce, for example, had a weak point on his back. Until the weakpoint was destroyed he was invulnerable to damage. With the weakpoint destroyed he became vulnerable, though had multiple times more health than normal enemies. It took about a minute to bring him down.
