Astarion is a recruitable Rogue character in Baldur’s Gate 3. In order to make him join your team you must locate him and talk to him. He will then follow you around and aid you in combat.
This guide explains the steps to recruit Astarion.
Step 1: Find Astarion Location
Astarion can be found after the Prologue, when the Mindflayer Spaceship has crash-landed at the beach. You can still find him later. Continue until you reach the first fast travel point in the game called “Overgrown Ruins”. From this point head west through the crashed spaceship, then follow the path at the beach behind the crashed spaceship. Along the path you will find Astarion. He’s a white-haired man standing in the middle of the road.
Step 2: Talk to Astarion and pick the correct Dialogue
When approaching Astarion he will automatically start talking to you. Just be nice to him here. These are the dialogues that are confirmed to work for recruiting him: 1. Easily. Stand back. > 1. Put it away. We don’t need to fight. > 1. It’s the mind flayer’s worm – it connected us. > 2. Glad to see we’re all caught up now. > 1. (Your Name) > 2. I know we don’t want them in our heads. > 2. We can start by travelling together? Better odds, I’d say.
Should you already be in a party of 4 players, then Astarion will head to your camp instead. To travel to camp press the campfire button in the bottom right corner of the screen and choose “Go to camp”. Then talk to Astarion at camp. You will need to tell another team member to stay at camp to open up a free slot in your party.
