COD WW2 Darkest Shore: How to Build, Upgrade Ripsaw

February 4, 2018 by CriesOfFurya Leave a Comment

In the first Zombies DLC Map “Darkest Shore” of Call of Duty WW2 you can build and upgrade a Ripsaw. The ranged Ripsaw is needed for the main easter egg. This guide will walk you through all the steps and item locations:

Step 1: Assemble the Ripsaw

The Ripsaw is composed of 2 parts that you have the collect first, the saw blade and the saw itself. The saw blade can only be found stuck in a wall, above a beheaded soldier near the lift by the right cliff. This spawn is fixed and it will always be there.

The saw can only be found in the artillery bunker, however there are 3 locations it can spawn in. The locations are:

Once you have collected both parts, make your way over to the Submarine Pens and assemble the Ripsaw at the work bench. It’ll cost you 2500 jolts to buy the Ripsaw and it will replace the shovel as your melee weapon.

Step 2: Get the ranged upgrade

You now have the ability to rip out the spines of regular Zombies and Pest with the Ripsaw, by simply hitting them with a heavy melee attack (ADS + fire button) and holding  :sq: . Your objective now is to rip out a spine that has a charged battery attached to it. You’ll notice when you found a charged one, since it’ll have a light at the end of it and sparks coming off it. Also you’ll see a red bar to the left of your players HUD.

Bring the charged battery over to the work bench and attach it to the Ripsaw there. You now have to kill around 20+ zombies in the vicinity of the work bench to complete the upgrade. You’ll now be able to buy the ranged upgrade for 500 jolts, or the upgraded ranged Ripsaw for 3000 jolts if you havent bought the base model yet.

NOTE: The ranged Ripsaw will be needed for the main easter egg, so make sure to assemble it as quickly as possible!

Step 3: Pack-a-punch the ranged Ripsaw

This step is by far the trickiest of them all and I wouldn’t really recommend pack-a-punching the Ripsaw, as it will only increase the ranged saw blade count and the melee damage and not the power of the saw blades themselves. This version is also not needed for the easter egg.

First you have to find 6 dials from a 6 digit enigma code around the map. The code could look like this: +07-22 or -02+18 and it will tell you by how many clicks you have to adjust the big flak gun in the artillery bunker. The 6 spawns for the dials are:

  1. Behind the bent prison bars by the Dr. Straub spawn in the first tunnel from the beach.
  2. Underneath some wooden planks on the middle cliff (by the Lee Enfield wallbuy).
  3. In the U-Boat pens in a prison cell on the floor, opposite of the power switch.
  4. On the right side of the flak gun by double tab (also near the PaP station).
  5. Inside the artillery bunker in the room with the power switch. This one will be sitting in the locker next to the bunk bed.
  6. Also inside the artillery bunker, sitting in the second window left of the Geistschild machine.

You will be able to tell if the dial you have found is the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th digit in the code. You will always find 4 numbers and 2 symbols (+ and -) and they will tell you the exact coordinates for the flak gun in the artillery bunker. This only works after you have completed the warships step from the main easter egg. Once the flak gun has been adjusted and fired, a little fuse will spawn right in front of it. Pick it up and you will have completed the upgarde. You can now pack-a-punch your Ripsaw whenever you want.
