Upon reaching The Tangled Shore in Destiny 2 Forsaken, you will meet a vendor called Spider. After meeting him there are no more waypoints / milestones from the main story so players may wonder what to do next.
The game doesn’t really explain this.
After meeting Spider on The Tangled Shore: You have to do 5 of Spider’s bounties. Then it will show a new Milestone and you must return to Spider to advance the story. Remember you can select which bounty to track from the Inventory. You also complete bounties from the inventory, not by talking to Spider.
You can mix them up between “Wanted Bounties” and “Tangled Shore Bounties”. Do public events to get Ghost Fragments. These are needed to accept the Weekly Bounties from the “Wanted” category. The Daily Bounties just cost a little bit of Glimmer and are straightforward — you either got to kill a certain number of enemies around the Tangled Shore or do some patrols or public events.
For Wanted Bounties you (usually) need to enter a Lost Sector on another planet. This is pointed out in the bounty description, e.g. “Hunt down a Prison of Elders escapees hiding out in the Drain in the EDZ”. So with this clue you know “EDZ” is the planet (Earth) and “Drain” is the name of the Lost Sector. A few can be in outside areas which are named on the map.
Of course you can stick to just the daily bounties if you prefer.
Here are some examples of the Wanted Bounties when Forsaken was released in the first week of September 2018. These will change weekly but the general principle should remain the same:
- Wanted: Metal Captain Bounty
- Wanted: Kurg, The All-Seeing Force Bounty
- Wanted: Zerz, the Unstoppable Weight Bounty
- Wanted: Mazan, Lost Captain Bounty
- Wanted: Fortifier Yann Bounty
Again, keep in mind after fulfilling a bounty’s requirement you still need to go to your inventory and confirm the bounty as completed. Only then it will count. After 5 it triggers the new Milestone to talk to Spider again.
Now that you and Spider are friends, he gives you the location of the Scorned Barons’ hideout. It’s time to seek revenge and rob Uldren of his Barons by completing mission “Scorned”. First, talk to Petra again who stands next to Spider. Then the next mission starts. From here you have waypoints again, same for the mission after that. Then you have to talk to Spider again and he unlocks Adventures on The Tangled Shore, again the waypoints disappear. Complete all Adventures to advance the story.
