Lost in the Woods is a World Quest in Genshin Impact, part of the Between Pledge and Forgettance quest line. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Lost in the Woods World Quest.
Lost in the Woods automatically starts during the Natlan! A New Adventure Archon subquest.

Mission Description: Find your way out of the mysterious woods
Objectives:
- Defeat the Rifthounds
- Shatter the rock and rescue the whelp
- Follow your Saurian companion
- Leave the strange space
Starting Location: Natlan
This quest begins automatically when you get close to the glowing stone pillars on the left.
You spontaneously get teleported to a random wood in the middle of nowhere. Even if you look on the map, you don’t appear anywhere specific.
It’s worth mentioning that you cannot teleport anywhere while in this quest.
Defeat the Rifthounds
The first Rifthound you see is fighting with another creature. Defeat that one and move forward to make two more Rifthounds spawn.
Take them out.
The beast that fought alongside you is now wounded. In its weakened state, it telepathically offers you aid.
When you reach out your hand, press L1 and Square.
You then morph into the big creature.
Shatter the rock and rescue the whelp
Directly in front of you, a little whelp sits locked in a transparent pyramid.
Approach it and use your basic attack.
After helping out the whelp, it decides to join you. You then get to manually choose its name.
Press Square to type in a name of your choice.
You’re given an immediate opportunity to change the name if you wish. Choose “Let me think about this some more…” when the next dialogue options appear.
If you approve of the name, choose “Let’s go with that!”
Follow your Saurian companion
Your new companion leads you to the glowing, transparent rocks that teleported you here.
Once your companion turns around, the exit prompt appears in the middle of the transparent rocks.
Leave the strange space
Interact with the glowing spot to leave.
Exit the strange woods to complete the Lost in the Woods World Quest.
Should you decide to change the name of your new companion, you can use the “Reaffirmed Accord of Appelation,” which you can find in your Precious Items tab in your inventory.
Be aware that this item can only be used once to change its name.
