Moonfinger is the second subquest in Chapter 1: Act 2, Archaic Lord, an Archon Quest in Genshin Impact. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Moonfingers Archon Subquest.
Moonfinger is unlocked automatically when you finish An Organization Known As Wangsheng.

Mission Description: Purchase the necessary Noctilucous Jade to complete the Rite of Passing.
Objectives:
- Go and by Noctilucous Jade
- Look for the Meat tribe’s giant cooking pot
- Defeat the Hilichurls
- Approach the cooking pot
- Defeat the Hilichurls
- Heat up the cooking pot
- Defeat the Hilichurls
- Use Pyro on the cooking pot
- Defeat the Hilichurls
- Use Pyro on the cooking pot
- Return to Liyue Harbor and Speak to Shitou
- Put the Noctilucous Jade in place
Starting Location: Liyue Harbor
Go and buy Noctilucous Jade
Head to the southeast end of Liyue Harbor and find the vendor near the Teleport Waypoint.
Zhongli and the vendor, Shitou, talk about quality of the Noctilucous Jade and how to determine the best quality. The grade can only be determined by applying Pyro to it.
Shitou provides small portions of the jade so you can test them. You end up going to Dadaupa Gorge in Mondstadt to safely test the samples.
Look for the Meat tribe’s giant cooking pot
Teleport to the Temple of the Lion in Mondstadt.
Then, climb up the rock face behind the domain and head east. You soon arrive at a cliff overlooking a giant cooking pot. Jump down to it.
Defeat the Hilichurls
A group of hilichurls surround the cooking pot. Defeat all of them.
Approach the giant cooking pot
Once all the hilichurls are dealt with, go back up the wooden ramp to the cooking pot.
Heat up the cooking pot
Use Pyro attacks on the cooking pot to increase the temperature of the water in it.
Defeat the Hilichurls
When you reach halfway up the temperature gauge, a group of hilichurls tries to stop you. Take them out.
Use Pyro to heat the pot
Return to heating up the cooking pot.
Defeat the Hilichurls
With 1/6th remaining on the temperature gauge, yet another group of hilichurls tries to stop you. Take them all out.
Use Pyro to heat the pot
Use one more Pyro attack to fully heat the water.
Return to Liyue Harbor and find Shitou
Speak to Shitou and let him know which of the three Noctilucous Jades you want. Pick the third jade.
You are given the possibility to choose from all three. Fortunately, Paimon stops you if you make the incorrect choice.
Shitou finds out what the jade is for, and he offers to sell it to you for half price.
Put the Noctilucous Jade in place
Use the Teleport Waypoint in northwest Liyue Harbor and face southeast. The brick wall behind the buildings is perfect for climbing.
At the top, go left along the edge until you reach the location where the Rite of Descension took place.
You discuss with Zhongli about the current state of the investigation.
Finishing this cutscene completes the Moonfinger subquest.
