The Floating Palace is the first subquest in Chapter 1: Act 3, A New Star Approaches, an Archon Quest in Genshin Impact. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of The Floating Palace Archon Subquest.
The Floating Palace is unlocked automatically when you finish Guizhong.
Region: Liyue
Area: Liyue Harbor.
Quest Giver: Automatically given after completing Guizhong
Requirement: Complete subquests Guizhong
Recommended Level: 25
Reward: 675 Adventure EXP, 27,500 Mora, 3 Hero’s Wit, 5 Mystic Enhancement Ore
Mission Description: Find a way to reach the Jade Chamber, Ningguang’s floating base.
Objectives:
- Go to Mt. Tianheng
- Search for a way up to the Jade Chamber
- Try using the mechanism
- Head over the Guizhong Ballista
- Fight the Millelith
Starting Location: Liyue
Go to Mt. Tianheng
Mt. Tianheng sits west of Liyue Harbor.
It’s quite a climb, so make your way up. Eventually, a cutscene begins with Paimon contemplating ways to reach the Jade Chamber.
Search for a way up to the Jade Chamber
Even if you weren’t all the way to the top before the cutscene, you appear further up the mountain. Once at the top, head to the eastern edge to find a clover windmill.
Try using the mechanism
Note: You may have swapped elements for your Traveler, leaving your Traveler with an element other than Anemo. Thankfully, Upon reaching level 25, which you already have by this point, each player receives Lynette free. She doesn’t need to be leveled up in order to do what you need right now.
With an Anemo skill, activate the mechanism. A vertical wind current appears.
Glide up the current and then float down to a small stone platform with a chest on it.
While stuck on the platform, Paimon brainstorms ways to get up to the Jade Chamber.
Head over to the Guizhong Ballista
Use the Teleport Waypoint near the Guizhong Ballista and then glide down to the ballista.
When you get close, a cutscene plays. Paimon proves her bad negotiations skill, and you end up fighting some Millelith guards.
Fight the Millelith
Three waves of Millelith soldiers come at you. Dispatch them all.
When the battle finishes, you meet a new member of the Qixing, Keqing. She gives you some background on Ningguang as well as the means of reaching the Jade Chamber.
Finishing this cutscene completes The Floating Palace subquest.
