Introduction
Welcome to the Dying Light: The Beast Trophy Guide! While Dying Light: The Beast started out as DLC for Dying Light 2, it eventually turned into its own standalone game. This chapter in the Dying Light universe delivers a condensed, story-driven experience packed with intense parkour combat but now with mutation-based abilities that become more powerful and brutal throughout the game. The trophy list is designed for completionists, you need to find all 100 collectibles, 49 blueprints, and complete all 20 side quests. Nothing is missable, and all trophies can be earned in a single playthrough.
Step 1: Finish the Story
Play through the story on any difficulty. Playing on the lowest difficulty “Easy” is fine for trophies. Along the way, feel free to do as much or as little side content as you want. Doing side quests when they become available is beneficial for the XP rewards. However, you can still clean up everything after the story in free-roam. It’s also good to unlock the 23 Safe Zones and 11 Substations as soon as possible. They are marked on the map by question marks. These unlock Blueprints for crafting, and whenever you die the game respawns you at the nearest Safe Zone.
Step 2: Collectibles, Blueprints, Side Quests
For
Cabinet of Curiosities you need to find all 100 collectibles, for
Craftsman you need all 49 blueprints, and for
Good Samaritan you need all 20 side quests. Here are guides for everything you need for trophies:
Cabinet of Curiosities:
- 8 Castor Woods Newspapers
- 11 Castor Woods Beavers
- 8 Sigils
- 3 Dr. Peter Paulaner Diaries
- 2 Fischer Family Documents
- 6 Asylum Patient Records
- 9 Castor Woods Recipes
- 9 Baron’s Research Recordings
- 8 Hidden Truths With Spark
- 5 Dr. Tal Cuberno Recordings
- 4 Olivia’s Recordings
- 27 Murals
Craftsman:
Good Samaritan:
If you have any of the 23 Safe Zones or 11 Substations remaining, clean them up during this step too. Lastly, clean up any miscellaneous trophies you have remaining, such as 6 revolver headshots in 20 seconds.
Things You Should Know Before You Start:
- Night falls every evening at 7:00 PM (19:00): Your alarm will go off as the sun starts to go down, but you still have about 30 minutes before it becomes truly dark and the Volatiles come out. Even at the end of the game, Volatiles can be deadly and especially so in groups. Don’t bother trying to fight them unless you’re prepared.
- If you can’t get to a Safe Zone, a Dark Zone is the next best thing: It sounds counterintuitive, but whatever Viral enemies you might run into in a Dark Zone, none of them will be as dangerous as a Volatile, and Volatiles won’t follow you inside. So you might as well spend your night killing zombies and looting, just don’t poke your head out until 8:00AM.
- Don’t get too hung up on trying to loot everything or kill every zombie: There’s always going to be more zombies and items in buildings will respawn very quickly so it’s okay to just focus on the missions, especially at the beginning of the game while you’re levelling up. Regular zombie kills give very little XP and only drop basic raw materials/valuables, making grinding on the streets a waste of time. Most of your experience and items will come from completing the missions. Once you’re able to start raiding Dark Zones without relying on stealth, you will be able to rake in valuables and specialized materials in bulk.
- Prioritize Unlocking Safe Zones: Even if you’re in the middle of a mission, you should still detour to secure every safe zone you find right away. Every time you die, you’ll respawn at the nearest safe zone so the more you have the less you’ll have to run to get back to what you were just doing. Also you’ll want to have a safe zone close by if you accidentally get caught out at night, so again the more the better. Finally, almost every safe zone will have a blueprint in it for a weapon, throwable or a mod, making you even deadlier when you get back out there.
- Use Survivor Sense constantly: It has a decent range, will highlight Virals, Volatiles, Chimera, and People, even through walls. It will also put a white dot on anything that can be interacted with (mostly finding salvage), and will highlight collectibles in the area with an orange treasure chest icon, making collectible hunting so much easier.
- Don’t repair a weapon too soon: The game will warn you when your weapon is about to break, prompting you to repair it ASAP. The problem being that each weapon can only be repaired so many times before it is destroyed and taking all of your mods with it, so you have to be strategic with your best weapons. Absolutely ignore the warning, and keep using it until it “breaks”. Then you can repair it from the menu, and it will be no different than if you’d repaired it early except that you won’t have wasted that last bit of durability.
- Or don’t repair it at all: If you go to a workbench and use the “Weapon Enhancement” screen to raise the level of a weapon, it will be restored to 100% condition without counting as one of that weapon’s repairs. This will work until a weapon is raised to level 15, dramatically extending the usefulness of your favorite weapons.
- The top of the map isn’t north: Check the lower left corner of the map. North is actually towards the lower left of the map, making your compass heading nearly backwards compared to a normal map’s orientation. All directions given in this guide will be according to the compass indicator.

- Hold the Touchpad / View Button to see your watch: Useful to see what time it is and how long you have before nightfall.
- Use Opportunity Weapons and Environmental Hazards: Particularly on the larger Chimera, don’t ignore the fuel tanks or pitchforks that are usually present in the area. Eventually you’ll also get a remote activator for car bombs and electric fences! Every point of damage you do this way is one hit your weapons don’t have to take to their durability.
- Sell nothing, buy everything: You can sell weapons at the Town Hall and Exile’s Cove vendors, but it’s never a good idea. For the small amount of cash you’ll get, you’re better off dismantling the weapon for parts. In fact, you should get used to picking up every weapon you can and dismantling all the weak weapons every time your inventory is full. The only thing you should ever sell is valuables, because that’s all they’re good for. Conversely, there are items that you should always buy in the stores: bullets of any kind, rare resources (Cordyceps, Poppy, Oxidizers, etc.), and common resources that you always run out of (e.g. Wiring, Resin). This will depend on what consumables / throwables you prefer.
- Save your bullets: Even if you buy ammo every time you’re in the store, it will always be in short supply. When you search raiders with weapons, you might get 2-3 bullets/shells/rounds but more often than not you’ll get nothing, and the Convoys that the game keeps reminding you about might have a couple of boxes of ammo with a bullet or two each. So don’t pass up looting any soldier/raider, picking up every gun, and opening every convoy you pass by. Then save your ammo for the Chimera fights.

We’re Safe Here! Activate all safe zones |
|
There are a total of 23 Safe Zones to find and activate all over the map. They’ll be marked on your map as question marks until you are nearby, then they’ll be marked on your map and you’ll receive an entry on the Activities tab in your Journal, which you can track to see exactly what is required to secure each location. They’re all variations on the same activities, but it’s always worthwhile when you find a new Safe Zone to make a detour in the middle of any quest and unlock them right away. Almost all of them will have blueprints in them, which you’ll need for Craftsman anyhow, and since you’ll always respawn at the closest Safe Zone when you die you’re going to want to have as many unlocked as you can to make that trip be as short as possible. |

And Then There Was Light Activate all transformer stations |
|
| There are a total of 11 Substations to find and activate all over the map. These transformer stations will appear on your map after The Cable Guy quest. They’ll be marked on your map as question marks until you are nearby, and they will be tracked under the Activities tab of your Journal until they’ve been activated, which you can track to see exactly what is required to secure each location. Once activated, each one will supply power to traps that are set in each zone in fixed positions, giving you a new weapon to use on crowds of zombies. As a side bonus, there are usually blueprints to be looted from these substations as well so visiting these locations should also be a priority. | ||

I Still Don’t Approve of Mindless Fun Kill 500 zombies with your vehicle |
|
| Every time you drive a vehicle you will kill a lot of zombies. You will probably unlock this trophy accidentally while completing the story, so you don’t have to go out of your way to grind this. It counts together all vehicle kills cumulatively, you don’t have to do it in a single drive. | ||

Gunslinger Do 6 headshots with a revolver within 20 seconds |
|
| When you get your first revolver, the easiest place to get this trophy is right outside City Hall. Climb up to the top of the Undefeated Fighter statue, which is narrow enough that Virals won’t climb up next to you.
Wait till the zombies following you are all around the base of the statue. If you don’t have enough regular zombies, use decoys to draw them in. The Viral enemies are faster and bob their head a lot more, so it’s usually not worth going for them. When you’re ready, aim down and start shooting at their heads. Take your time, you’ll have 3 1/3 seconds for each enemy to get six in 20 seconds. If you miss you will have to reload your revolver, which takes about nine seconds as you load bullets into the chambers one at a time. Depending on how long you took at the beginning of your run it is likely that some of your kills will no longer fall within the 20 second window, so after you’ve reloaded don’t stop shooting until the trophy pops. |

Craftsman Upgrade all blueprints to their maximum |
|
| To earn this trophy you will have to find or unlock 49 blueprints of any kind, including weapons, gadgets, tools, consumables, mods. Then by using the workbench, improve the blueprints until they’re all at Legendary status. Some weapons or blueprints will already be at Legendary status when you receive them, such as the Flamethrower or Grenade Launcher. Since you won’t have to upgrade them to make them Legendary, these weapons will not count towards your total. You can tell which ones will count because they will have three chevrons next to the weapon’s damage value. Whereas the weapons that started out Legendary (like the Flamethrower) will have no chevrons since it had no upgrade path.
Exclusive Deluxe Edition content, items from Pilgrim Outpost, and DLC items will all count towards your total, (as long as they don’t start out Legendary) and there are more than 49 available in the game in case you miss some. Refer to Blueprint Locations for details. |

Kylin McCrane Win gold in all Travis’s races |
|
| Once you buy the Efficient Driving and Collision Expert skills from the Survival Skill tree, you will see a new Side Quest pop up on your map, west of the Highway Tower Safe Zone and northeast of the Farm Relay Substation (by map directions). Go there and you will find a crashed vehicle and a dead driver. When you interact with the driver to check his vitals, you’ll get a short cutscene and start the Side Quest The Fast and Fortunate. Meet with Travis and get his pitch, then follow your objective markers to each race in the series. Be sure to keep retrying each race from the sign marker until you have a gold in each race. Once you have a gold in all four races for the quest, you will get the trophy. Then return to Travis to complete the quest and get your prize. | ||

Apex Predator Kill a Volatile |
|
| Volatiles are the extremely dangerous zombies that only come out at night. They’re faster than you at a dead sprint, take a lot of damage to kill, and can wipe out your health bar in seconds. By the end of the game, you will have enough throwables, mines, C4 and the Saw Blade launcher, all of which will make your hunt for them much easier. | ||

Blacksmith Repair your weapons 50 times |
|
| The easiest and most economical way to do this is to pick up every melee weapon that raiders or soldiers carry over the course of the game. Each one will likely already be damaged, and can be repaired immediately. After that, you can dismantle them for some rebate on the parts. You won’t be short of weapons to repair in this way, and the scrap and blades that you’ll need are the two most common resources in the game. | ||

Firefighter Kill 112 enemies with the flamethrower |
|
| In the Survival branch of the skill tree, you can unlock the Flamethrower skill in the 2 point tier. Craft a flamethrower and at least 1000 flamethrower ammo (you’ll probably need more). When you find a large crowd of zombies set them on fire with the flamethower. As long as the zombies die while still on fire, it will count towards the trophy. Good places to farm this include outside the St. Valentine Asylum or the junkyard arena where you fought the Chimera. | ||

Hexakosioihexekontahexa Kill 666 enemies using your beast-like powers |
|
Over the course of the game, you’ll be using your Beast skill frequently. At first you’ll only be able to punch enemies to death, but soon you’ll be able to throw heavy objects, do an aerial smash, and a ferocious swipe. Any kills made with any of these abilities will count towards the trophy. By the end of the story you’ll probably have most but not all the kills you need. It won’t take long while grinding for Craftsman to bash out the remainder of what you need without too much trouble. |

This trophy guide was posted on 10 October 2025? How did I miss this? PowerPyx didn’t even make a YouTube community post for this. Regardless, thank you for the trophy guide, considering when the game got delayed, it did not look like there would be a trophy guide on this website. This is the first Dying Light in which you can earn the Platinum trophy completely single-player, which I love, so I’ll definitely play this game eventually (Techland should have published a physical edition so that people like me would prioritise buying it sooner rather than later).
