Introduction
Welcome to the Mixtape Trophy Guide! Mixtape is the newest game from Beethoven & Dinosaur, who previously created the musical side scrolling adventure The Artful Escape. Mixtape is in a similar style, but in a full narrative adventure closer to Life is Strange. The story follows a trio of high school seniors through their final day in town together, with very heavy usage of 90s period music to tell the story. Trophy-wise the game is quite easy, with a full platinum playthrough only taking around 3-4 hours. You can also clean up trophies quickly using chapter select.
Step 1: Complete the Game Following the Walkthrough Earning All Trophies
Follow the Mixtape 100% Walkthrough to get Platinum in 1 playthrough.
If you happen to miss any of the timed or misc trophies you can use chapter select to restart the chapter they are in immediately, but be aware this will cause the “collected” status of interactions to visually reset for the section of the story you are in. The interactions are still counted as collected and you don’t need to interact with them again for the trophy, but it can make keeping track of them confusing and makes you go through all of Cassandra and Slater’s dialogues again for new ones.
Step 2: Cleanup
If you did a blind first playthrough or need to clean up anything missed during the initial playthrough, you can use chapter select after the story to jump to any spot within the story you need for the remaining trophies.

| This trophy is awarded for completing each “room” section of the story, along with doing all optional item interactions and exhausting all dialogue for Cassandra and Slater during these sections. While playing through normally you can see if you haven’t interacted with something or have new available dialogue because a white dot will be visible over the item or character, then if you have already interacted with an item or have no new dialogue there will be a hollow dot. If you are doing a full playthrough you can use this to see new items, though note that if you use chapter select the visual indicator is reset and dialogue for Cassandra and Slater starts over for that section, but the game still keeps track of items you have previously interacted with.
You can follow the 100% Walkthrough to obtain all interactions as well as other trophies in a single playthrough. If you completed the playthrough and didn’t earn this trophy, you can clean it up using chapter select to jump to specific spots and going through all interactions and dialogue again quickly to see what you missed.
If doing this didn’t work for you, then you may need to try playing through each bedroom section from the start again and always interacting with Cassandra and Slater in each scene where they have new dialogue. This seems to unlock the requirement if doing all dialogue in the final interaction of each section doesn’t work. |

Cone Island, Baby. Knock over 10 traffic cones during the skate from Rockford’s house. |
|
| Chapter 11: Skate to Cassandra’s
During this skating section you need to knock over all 10 of the orange cones that are found along the route. There are exactly 10, so if you miss one you’ll need to try again from the start of the chapter. There are a couple spots where if you miss a cone you can try turning hard to the side to crash and rewind which still counts as long as you hit all cones at least once during the right. Cones 1 2 and 3 are to the right of the yellow dump truck, right on the center line of the road. Cone 4 is when you reach the intersection where you can see the school bus ahead and Rockford starts yelling at the truck, right on the center line past the intersection. Cones 5 and 6 are after going under the semi trailer, in the center of the path before the construction area. Cone 7 is in the first section of the construction area before going off the ledge. Cones 8 and 9 are on the right side of the road once the camera switches to an overhead angle. These are the hardest two to hit because of this. If you miss one or both you can try turning into the blue car on the left of the road and you should be reset up the road just before the cones. Cone 10 is when the camera switches back to being behind you, just past the cars on the left. If you hit all 10 cones during the run the trophy will unlock immediately upon hitting this one. If it didn’t you’ll need to try again. |

in the left lane. It is easier to ollie over the shorter white or red cars, though you can do it over the taller ones with very precise timing. If you jump too soon and hit the car you are automatically placed back in time a short amount and can try again on the same car if you want. This can also be earned in the other skateboarding sections throughout the game if you miss it in Chapter 1.

Imo that softball trophy is much harder than the one for knocking the 10 traffic cones down.

The Banned in Massachusetts trophy feels bugged but it’s doable. Took me 8 tries and I had to tap Circle and Triangle as fast as I possibly could. The triggers just weren’t fast enough for me.
Liam says
For some reason the fireworks trophy won’t unlock for me despite going through it twice and frantically tapping the triggers. Anyone else having a similar problem?

MontyThighon says
Banned In Massachusetts can take a bit of trial and error. You can also spam the face buttons as well and that counts. It seems the big finale can be pretty patchy, easier to just spam the triggers and the face buttons.
MontyThighon says
Seems some dialogue with Cassandra is a bit similar, but has different branches.
Each bedroom contains multiple dialogue lines for Slater/Cassandra that appear in a specific sequence. If you are missing one of the later dialogue lines, it may be necessary to play through that bedroom’s connected chapters in a single session without quitting or using Chapter Select, as using Chapter Select appears to reset the dialogue progression back to the first line.
For example, starting from Cassandra’s House, you can speak to the character for dialogue, then pick up the yellow item to enter “Softball,” return to the bedroom for additional dialogue, continue through “Toilet Paper,” return, then “Floating on Sadness,” and finally Cassandra’s Rooftop, with new dialogue potentially appearing between each section.
If you instead load directly into a later chapter, such as “Floating on Sadness” via Chapter Select, the dialogue sequence may reset to the beginning.
Based on testing, it seems the most reliable approach is to complete each bedroom’s related sequence in one uninterrupted sitting so the dialogue progression carries over correctly.
