Mixtape 100% Walkthrough

May 8, 2026 by Gage 6 Comments

Here you can find a full walkthrough for Mixtape, including the collectible locations, all interactions required for the Front to Back trophy/achievement, other “collectible” interactions and the locations for all minigame and misc trophies.

Mixtape is split up into 30 total chapters, switching between minigames or unique interactions and dialogue sections. A full playthrough following the guide should take around 3-4 hours.

Chapter select is available at any time after you have completed a chapter, and can use this to restart minigame sections or jump backwards for collectibles. The game does track interactions for Front to Back through chapter select, but the visual indicator of a “collected” interaction (white circle switching to a faded circle) is reset in chapter select. So if you need to retry interactions you will need to try all of them in a section again to check if you missed something.

Chapter 1: Skate to Rockford’s

Thrashed – Ollie a car. :bronze:

While skating at the very start of the game, Ollie over a car with :x: / :a: in the left lane. It is easier to ollie over the shorter white or red cars, though you can do it over the taller ones with very precise timing. If you jump too soon and hit the car you are automatically placed back in time a short amount and can try again on the same car if you want. This can also be earned in the other skateboarding sections throughout the game if you miss it here.

Chapter 2: Rockford’s House

Inside Rockford’s house is the first location where you have items you need to interact for unique conversations. You can see what items you haven’t interacted with because they will have a white dot visible on them, whereas ones you have interacted with will have a hollow dot that is only visible when you are closer.

To the left of the bedroom, interact with the door, the painting, and the radio.

Opposite the door to the bedroom, interact with the picture, the painting, and the bathroom counter.

In the bedroom facing toward the other characters from left to right interact with the CD on the shelf, Cassandra, the record player, the skateboard, the keyboard pencil case, and Slater lying on the bed.

Facing toward the door from left to right interact with the tapes by the TV, the cassette player and CDs on the shelf.

After you’ve interacted with all items you can interact with the glowing cassette on the desk that the game directed you to earlier.

Chapter 3: The Kiss

French Connection – Kiss for 60 seconds :bronze:

Stay in the kissing minigame for 60 seconds. The trophy won’t unlock until you back out, so you need to time this yourself if you want to know exactly when you quit out.

After the kissing minigame you are in the bedroom again. Interact with Cassandra and Slater again.

Then interact with the pictures on the closet, followed by the VCR on the TV to progress.

Chapter 4: Headbanging

After the headbanging minigame, interact with Cassandra and Slater again, then interact with the string of photos on the wall to progress.

Pick up the other three photos that are marked around the room. One is directly below the string, one is in the book to the left of Cassandra, and the final is on the closet door where you viewed the photo before. Interact with the string again to progress.

Chapter 5: Shopping Cart Bomb

Smooth Shopper – Don’t crash once while escaping in the shopping cart. :gold:

During the shopping cart section, avoiding hitting anything by steering with the left stick, and keeping yourself straight with :l1: + :r1: . The main goal is just to avoid hitting any cars while sticking mostly to the center of the road. If you crash you can immediately start the chapter over, or try again later. The trophy will unlock when you reach the bottom of the hill and the cutscene to end the chapter occurs.

In the bedroom once more, interact with Slater, the poster in the closet, and Cassandra. Then interact with the box on the chair to progress.

Chapter 6: Rockford’s Headphones

After the scene interact with Cassandra and Slater, then the board on the wall and interact with all pinned items.

Chapter 7: Debbie’s Bedroom

After the scene, walk down the hallway to the room that was previously closed. Interact with Slater, the trophies on the shelf, Cassandra, and the box to Cassandra’s right. Then interact with the cabinet, followed by the picture on the green dresser.

Chapter 8: Ultimate Slushie

Grunge Metal Alchemist – Make Slater’s secret slushy recipe. :gold:

In this chapter you make a slushie as Rockford and Slater. Slater’s secret recipe is learned from a poster in his room later in the game, but you can do it now. With either of the two slushies, mix Blue Crush, Bubblegum, Lime, and Orange. You can do a quarter of each, and the trophy will unlock immediately after the cup is filled when it shows your finished product.

After the scene, interact with Slater and Cassandra, then the drawer in the dresser.

Move the items in the dresser around so that you can move the black notebook on the top right. Pick up the ticket to progress.

Chapter 9: Photobooth

After the photobooth minigame, interact with Slater, Cassandra, and the picture sitting on the boxes where Cassandra was in the prior scene. Then interact with the shell sitting on the blue dresser.

Interact with Cassandra and Slater one final time here (both should have a “should we leave” dialogue, keep talking to them if not), then interact with the wardrobe to progress.

Chapter 10: The Ritz Discovery

During the flashback follow the path through the forest, there are no extra interactions during this section.

Goodbye, Stacey’s Room – Complete all memories in Rockford’s room. :bronze:

This will automatically unlock during the next scene when Slater says the same out loud.

Chapter 11: Skate to Cassandra’s

Cone Island, Baby. – Knock over 10 traffic cones during the skate from Rockford’s house. :silver:

During this skating section you need to knock over all 10 of the orange cones that are found along the route. There are exactly 10, so if you miss one you’ll need to try again from the start of the chapter. There are a couple spots where if you miss a cone you can try turning hard to the side to crash and rewind which still counts as long as you hit all cones at least once during the ride.

Cones 1, 2 and 3 are to the right of the yellow dump truck, right on the center line of the road.

Cone 4 is when you reach the intersection where you can see the school bus ahead and Rockford starts yelling at the truck, right on the center line past the intersection.

Cones 5 and 6 are after going under the semi trailer, in the center of the path before the construction area.

Cone 7 is in the first section of the construction area before going off the ledge.

Cones 8 and 9 are on the right side of the road once the camera switches to an overhead angle. These are the hardest two to hit because of this. If you miss one or both you can try turning into the blue car on the left of the road and you should be reset up the road just before the cones.

Cone 10 is when the camera switches back to being behind you on the left just past the cars. If you hit all 10 cones during the run the trophy will unlock immediately upon hitting this one. If it didn’t you’ll need to try again.

Chapter 12: Skipping Stones

Skim Gordon – Throw a stone through the tyre swing. :bronze:

During the skipping stones minigame, you need to throw a stone through the tire swing hanging on the right. You throw exactly where the small aim dot in the center of the screen is, so aim at the top middle of the hole in the tire. You can keep trying as much as you need here.

Once you’ve successfully thrown through the tire you can keep throwing stones around the lake, then after the characters are finished talking use the leave prompt when you are ready.

Chapter 13: Cassandra’s House

Now inside Cassandra’s house is the next section where you need to interact with items for conversations.

Turn around to look at the hallway and interact with the door and the portrait.

In the room facing the doorway, interact with the book and the board on the wall to the right.

Then interact with the tape left of the bed, Cassandra, the flower painting, Slater, and the picture on the right wall. You can then interact with the trophy in the cabinet to progress.

Chapter 14: Softball

And It’s Outta There! – Hit only home runs as Cassandra. :gold:

In this chapter you are hitting softballs as Rockford, followed by Cassandra. You can use Rockford’s turn to get your bearings, but then as Cassandra need to hit every ball to hit all home runs. After the first ball which is right down the center, each other ball is on the outside, and to hit them you just need to push the left stick fully in that direction, then hit :x: / :a: right when the circle around the target is exactly around it. For example below the target is on the top, so push the left stick straight up and then swing when the outer circle lines up. All hits as Cassandra are home runs, so you just need to push in the correct direction and swing at the right time. Unfortunately, after the first hit the directions seem to be randomized, so you will need to react quickly to hit each ball.

Back in Cassandra’s room, interact with the bed, Cassandra, and Slater. Then go into the bathroom and interact with the paper on the wall to progress.

Chapter 15: Toilet Paper Attack

Triple Ply – Throw 50 rolls at the house. :gold:

During this chapter you are throwing toilet paper at a house, keep throwing rolls until the trophy unlocks, then you can choose to leave when you’re ready.

Back in the room again, interact with Slater, the spot on the wall left of Cassandra, and finally Cassandra. You can then interact with the picture on the table beside the bathroom.

Chapter 16: Floating on Sadness

It’s the Pigs, Darling – Hit 3 pig balloons. :bronze:

In this next section you are floating backwards through a bunch of areas. After flying above the buildings you go through an area with a bunch of large pig-shaped balloons. You need to steer into the 3 that are in your path as you float. They are very easy to hit, but note that the trophy doesn’t unlock until the end of the section when you float into Rockford’s house right before the scene switches back to Cassandra’s Room.

Back in the room, interact with the door of the trophy cabinet and Slater sitting on the bed.

You also need to look up at the curtains above the window for a harder to spot interaction. Then interact with the paper behind Slater to progress.

After the short scene where the characters switch places, interact with Slater (he should have a “should we leave” dialogue, keep talking to him if not) and then Cassandra twice (you don’t seem to be able to interact with her in the prior spot by the door so has two banked dialogues now), then interact with the open window behind Slater to progress.

Chapter 17: Cassandra’s Rooftop

After the short scene interact with Cassandra twice first (she should have a “should we leave” dialogue, keep talking to her if not), then interact with Slater to continue.

Instructions Not Required – Complete minimaster assembly in under 15 seconds. :gold:

After interacting with Slater he gives you the Minimaster, and need to swap the batteries in under 15 seconds.

Move the hand to the Minimaster and grab it with :r2: / :rt: , then use the right stick to rotate and flip it over.

Press :r2: on the battery cover to open it, then one at a time grab the two batteries and move them over to the slots. They’ll automatically move to the slot they are meant to be in.

Press :r2: / :rt: to close the battery cover, then pick it up and flip it back over. Press :r2: / :rt: on the power button to turn it on and complete the minigame. If you need to try again you can start from the Cassandra’s Rooftop scene and speak to Slater again.

Chapter 18: Bodacious Cretaceous

Don’t. Move. – Take 20 photos in Bodacious Cretaceous. :silver:

In this chapter you are taking photos in an abandoned park. You just need to take at least 20 total photos before the end of the section, they can be all at once when you have access to the camera, or spread throughout the area. The final room where you can take photos is the one after the volcano area. The trophy will unlock once you have taken your 20th photo.

Matching The Drapes – Complete all memories in Cassandra’s room. :bronze:

This will automatically unlock during the next scene right before the next skateboarding section.

Chapter 19: Skateboard Explosion

Appetite For Destruction – Explode all objects on your way to the secret hideout. :silver:

In this skateboarding section you can hit :l2: / :lt: and :r2: / :rt: to cause items along the path to explode. The items will be highlighted with red lines when you are near them, but you can also just mash the triggers the entire way through and you should hit every object. The trophy will unlock when you blow up the gumball machine while going through the mall if you’ve hit every object.

Chapter 20: The Shitty Ritz

This has a bunch more items to interact with for dialogue.

From where you start, interact with the yellow fridge, the poster on the table, the empty bottles on the boxes, and the open window.

To the right of the house interact with the whip cream dispenser, the radio, and Slater.

You can then interact with the highlighted items to start minigames. First start with the paint cans on the ground by the deck.

Chapter 21: Door Painting

Paint it, Black, If You Want. – Paint the entire door in under 30 seconds. :silver:

In this minigame you are painting the door of the house in a flashback. Move the left stick to position the roller, then hold :r2: / :rt: to paint, then move the roller up or down. To do this quickly, go immediately to side and to the top or bottom, then roll the entire edge. Move the roller over enough to cover a new strip, then go back across again, repeat until the door is completely covered. You don’t need 100% of the door covered, there is a bit of leeway, so if you miss a small amount during one of the rolls keep going and then come back to cover it at the end. The trophy will unlock immediately during the painting if you cover the majority of the door fast enough, so you can then continue painting after that if you want.

After exiting painting, first interact with Slater, then interact with the couch.

Chapter 22: Couch Moving

Sofa King Fast – Get the couch in place within 30 seconds. :silver:

In this minigame you are moving a sofa across the area while controlling Cassandra and Slater on either end with both sticks. Immediately start going right with both of them and try to take as straight of a path as you can through the middle. When you reach the right side you can see the spot on the ground where you need to drop the couch, you need to be directly over top of it so that it turns green, then you receive the :x: / :a: prompt to drop it. The correct position should be that Cassandra and Slater’s feet are just outside the rectangle on the short sides. If you did it fast enough the trophy will unlock as soon as you drop the couch.

After exiting sofa moving, first interact with Slater again, then interact with the ground in front of him.

Chapter 23: Leaf Sweeping

Leaves That Are Green – Clear the leaves in under 45 seconds. :silver:

In this minigame you are sweeping leaves out of the area of the firepit. Hold :r2: / :rt: to charge up your broom swing, then release to blow large amounts of the leaves. Do this starting from the middle to push out most of the leaves, then go around the edge mashing sweep without charging to clear the rest of the leaves. Once all leaves are out of the circle it will turn green, and you will be awarded the trophy.

After exiting sweeping, interact with Slater one more time (he should have a “should we leave” dialogue, keep talking to him if not), then interact with the slingshot on the trunk of the car.

Chapter 24: Slingshot

From The Hip – Hit all the cans in under 30 seconds. :silver:

In this minigame you are shooting cans and bottles on the top of the car with a slingshot. Even though the trophy says cans, you need to hit ALL bottles and cans. Start from either the left or right, and move to the other side shooting all of them as you go. Aim by placing the thing you are shooting at just above Rockford’s fingers while charging. If you are quick enough the trophy will unlock immediately when you hit the last can or bottle.

Chapter 25: Slater’s House

Now inside Slater’s house there are more items to interact with.

Towards the stairs from left to right interact with the red robot, plasma orb, photos on the guitar amp,  green book and guitar on the couch.

On the opposite side of the room from left to right interact with the picture on the left, Slater, the wall behind Slater, the fish tank, and the record player.

Finally interact with the lava lamp to the right of the tape player, then interact with the tape player to progress.

After the short scene, interact with Slater (he should have a “should we leave” dialogue, keep talking to him if not), the minimaster on the desk, and then the tape on the bed to progress.

Front To Back – Find everything in the bedrooms and all unique conversations. :gold:

If you did not miss any interactions throughout the game, this should unlock after interacting with the tape on the bed.

Chapter 26: Starlight Video

Doppelbanger – Knock over all the character cutouts in the video store. :silver:

Tapehead Graveyard – Knock 200 VHS tapes off the shelves in the video store. :silver:

Both of these trophies occur in this section within the video store where you are drunkenly walking around as Slater. For Tapehead Graveyard, just keep walking into the tapes on the shelves to knock them onto the ground. For Doppelbanger, you need to walk into the character cutouts that are around the store. There are 5 total, two at the end of the aisles to the left, two on the back wall, and one at the end of the aisle near the clerk. You can do a lap around the outside wall while also knocking over videotapes.

After knocking over the cutouts keep walking around knocking over tapes if needed, both trophies unlock immediately when you complete the requirement. Once you are ready to progress, hold :r2: / :rt: to look at the tapes on the shelves and grab 2 blue tapes and 1 yellow tape and take them to the clerk.

Eight Minute Odyssey – Complete all memories in Slater’s room. :bronze:

This will automatically unlock during the next scene right before the next chapter.

Chapter 27: The Run

Well, Take A Look At You – Don’t miss a single jump or slide while rescuing Cassandra. :silver:

This section is an auto running section where you need to jump with :x: / :a: and slide with :r2: / :rt: to avoid obstacles in your way. Obstacles are very obvious throughout, if there isn’t an obvious hole you slide under, then you jump over it. There are some taller obstacles like fences that it might look like Rockford has ran into, but this doesn’t count, only if you miss a specific jump or slide. If done correctly the trophy will unlock immediately when the cutscene starts before Rockford drops the firework in the trash can.

Chapter 28: Coastal Cruise

Banned In Massachusetts – Don’t miss any fireworks in the coastal cruise. :silver:

This functions the same as the skateboarding explosion section where you hit :l2: / :lt: and :r2: / :rt: to set off fireworks as they appear on screen. You can keep mashing the triggers throughout to continue setting of the fireworks as they appear and the trophy should unlock right before the cutscene where the cars are on the ground again.

Chapter 29: Party at the Ritz

Fight For Your Right – Acquire all the items at the party. :silver:

In this chapter you are playing as Slater through the view of a camcorder, and need to walk around the party filming people shown by the white boxes, as well as picking up items for this trophy. Once you get into the main area the white boxes visible in the camera show where you need to go for filming, but there are other partygoers you need to also accept items from. There are a bunch of people you can high-five, but they don’t count toward this.

Walk forward and on the right is a guy in sunglasses who offers you a drink, take it and keep interacting to drink all of it.

Slightly forward on the left until you reach a girl who offers you a drink, take it and drink it.

Go toward the center of the yard slightly right of the interaction with Rockford and the radio and a man will offer you some food, take it and eat it.

Directly behind him is a bow with more food. Keep taking and eating until you can’t take anymore.

Facing the house on the right is a girl in all black who offer another drink.

Just past those partygoers toward the house there is a bathtub filled with drinks you can pick up. Keep taking and drinking the drinks until there isn’t a prompt to take anymore.

Go onto the deck of the house and left of the door the girl will offer you another drink.

Turn opposite the house where there is a marker to film the guy in the sunglasses, the girl to his left offers another drink. After picking this one up the trophy should unlock.

Chapter 30: Finale

Last Song – Complete the game. :bronze:

The last chapter is a final linear section, and you will earn the final trophy after the credits (you can hold :x: / :a: to speed them up).

Cleanup

Once you’ve finished the story you should just need individual minigame-related trophies or some interactions for Front to Back. You can check the Trophy Guide for specific chapters for the minigames. If you are missing Front to Back :gold: , it’s recommended to go to the following chapters and go through all interactions again.

  • Chapter 2: Rockford’s House – Specifically to interact with the closed door in the hallway (Debbie’s room).
  • Chapter 8: Photobooth – Pick up the shell to have Cassandra and Slater move, then interact with every item on the upper floor and exhaust Cassandra and Slater’s dialogue.
  • Chapter 15: Floating on Sadness – Exhaust Slater’s dialogue.
  • Chapter 16: Cassandra’s Rooftop – Exhaust Cassandra’s dialogue and interact with everything in her room and the two items in the hallway. The curtain above the window and the closed door in the hallway seem to be missed most frequently.
  • Chapter 23: Leaf Sweeping – Exhaust Slater’s dialogue, interact with everything around the area.
  • Chapter 25: Slater’s House – Interact with the tape player so Slater moves, then exhaust his dialogue and interact with every item in his room.

If doing this didn’t work for you, then you may need to try playing through each bedroom section from the start again and always interacting with Cassandra and Slater in each scene where they have new dialogue. These seems to unlock the requirement if doing all dialogue in the final interaction doesn’t work.

For anyone struggling with “Banned In Massachusetts” – just mash square instead. It’s much easier/more consistent than L2/R2.

Took me a while to get the Banned In Massachusetts trophy. The best strategy for me was during the flying section: I just placed my controller on the table and mashed SQUARE as fast as I could — then the trophy popped.

Love the game but the fact that you can’t skip cutscenes (at least after finishing the game) is super lame.

In chapter 4 you mention to pick up 3 photographs….there isn’t 3 photographs to pick up in this chapter though, only the one on the string that progresses the story

My bad, had to interact with the “progress” one to have the ability to pick up the other 3
