Crimson Forest is the 2nd region in Phantom Blade Zero and contains 83 Collectible Locations. This walkthrough will guide you to all the collectibles in the Crimson Forest Region in chronological order. Everything that’s needed for trophies and 100% completion is included. Anything that is missable will be marked with a warning, everything else can be collected after the story in free-roam.

Collectibles Overview:
First Visit
Everything here can be obtained on your first visit to the location.
#1 – Bell (Crimson Forest)
Directly ahead after the story cutscene.
#2 – Memory Flower
Directly beside the Crimson Forest Bell.
#3 – Bell (Abandoned Main Road)
On the side of the road after jumping over the barricade.
#4 – Shieldbreaker Talisman (Accessory)
After jumping over the broken bridge, the chest will be on a small scaffolding near some enemies.
#5 – Blackstone Fragment
From the previous collectible, follow the main path until you reach the cave and instead of running along the wall, drop down and it’ll be next to the enemy.
#6 – Bell (Pangzhen Bridge Overlook)
On the side of the road by the giant bridge.
#7 – The Fanatic’s Broken Blade (Weapon)
Reward for defeating Hua Qianziao, the Sword Fanatic. Story-related.
#8 – Simmering Brew (Medicine)
Directly ahead after falling through the bridge and swinging across the beam.
#9 – Memory Flower
From the previous collectible, follow the cliff side into the cave and the collectible is guarded by a group of dogs on the right.
#10 – Bell (Trail of Cages)
Continue through the cave and you’ll find the bell on one of the cliff faces.
#11 – Memory Flower
After meeting Quick Hand Zhang, enter the cave along the side of the cliff and it’ll be on a lower rock platform.
#12 – Blackstone Fragment
From the previous collectible, walk down into the water and it’s in the chest. Careful as the water does poison damage.
Unlocking Quick Hand Zhang’s Shop Pre-requisite
Continue going through the cave and once you reach the end you’ll see a crank to lower the cage that Quick Hand Zhang is in. You’ll need to free him from his cage in order to get a few collectibles later and unlock his shop.
#13 – Cavalrybane (Accessory)
From where the crank is where you free Quick Hand Zhang, drop down to the lower scaffolding platform to find the chest.
#14 – Bell (Outlaw Trap)
From Quick Hand Zhang, follow the cliff face past the cave and across the bridge. The bell will be on the left side past the large enemy.
#15 – Memory Flower
From the Outlaw Trap Bell, turn around towards the horse riding enemy and it’ll be on the right.
Key Item – Preservation Talisman Fragment I / Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank
Enter the cave directly ahead from the previous collectible and both will be inside.
#16 – Honor Among Thieves (Tales) – MISSABLE
Exit the cave and go up the hill ahead. Defeating the enemy by the campfire will accept the quest.
After defeating the main boss at the end of this region, this tale will fail if not completed.
#17 – Preservation Jar
From the Outlaw Trap Bell, use the Crimson Forest Tunnel Crank and enter the cave. Go across the bridge on the right and pick up the Preservation Talisman Fragment II. If you’ve picked up both it’ll turn into the Preservation Jar.
#18 – Sect Leader’s Snuff Bottle (Treasure)
From the previous collectible, follow the cave ahead and it’ll be in the chest.
#19 – Sha-Chi Amber Fragment
Back track from the previous item to the other side of the cave and go through the door. It’ll be in the chest ahead.
#20 – Kuye Dew (Medicine)
From the previous collectible, go down the stairs and it’ll be by all the corpses.
Missable Warning
If you haven’t completed the Apprentice Healer Tale, defeating the next boss will automatically fail it.
#21 – Outlaw Warblade (Weapon)
Reward for defeating Jing Ye, The Outlaw. Story-related.
#22 – Memory Flower
From where you fought Jing Ye, The Outlaw, go left and once you read the small wooden bridge you can drop down on the right.
#23 – Secrets of the Baishan Sect (Tales)
On the giant wooden bridge, speak with Lanlan to accept it.
#24 – Bell (Thieves’ Camp)
Across the giant wooden bridge, directly ahead.
#25 – Silent Wrap (Accessory) – MISSABLE
Talk to the Gentle Thief and he’ll ask you 3 questions that you have to answer correctly and he’ll reward you with the item.
- Stole a landowner’s jade belt
- Butterfly
- The letter never said. his fate is unknown.
After defeating the main boss at the end of this region, this tale will fail if not completed.
#26 – A Healer’s Mercy (Tales) – MISSABLE
Talk to Yu’er near the Thieves’ Camp Bell to accept it. You’ll need to complete this tale to unlock

A Healer’s Mercy Objective 1
Backtrack to the Outlaw Trap Bell and head towards the small cave where collectible #15 was found and talk to the wounded thief.
A Healer’s Mercy Objective 2
From the Outlaw Trap Bell, drop down into the other cave and head towards the chest where you found the Sect Leader’s Snuff Bottle and talk to the wounded thief along the wall.
#27 – Quick Hand Pendant (Accessory)
From the Thieves’ Camp Bell, follow the road out of it and climb up the wall and enter the small cave. If you freed Quick Hand Zhang earlier, talk to him and he’ll give you the Quick Hand Pendant. There are also 2 other accessories that can be purchased from him for 30,000 each, but they do not count towards the areas progress tracker.
#28 – Quick Hand’s Request (Tales) / The Wily Hare’s Three Dens (Tales)
Talk to Quick Hand Zhang and ask him about the relics in the area to accept, as well as the other dens.
#29 – Memory Flower
From Quick Hand Zhang, exit his shop and follow the wooden walkway along the cliffside into the cave.
#30 – Bloodstained Seal (Treasure)
From the previous collectible, it’ll be in a chest slightly ahead on the left.
Key Item – Forest Outpost Courtyard Key
After exiting the cave, go up the stairs and into the building on the left.
#31 – Blackstone Fragment
From the previous item, exit the building and enter the other building with the chest.
#32 – Bell (Red Serpent House)
Directly ahead after unlocking the Forest Outpost Courtyard.
#33 – Bell (Cliff of Longing)
From the Red Serpent House Bell, run up the hill and continue going up the stairs, then climb the wall directly ahead.
#34 – Bell (Cliffside Lodge)
From the Cliff of Longing Bell, go back down the small cliff and go across the broken bridge. The bell is behind the lodge just ahead.
Key Item – Crimson Forest Cellar Crank
From the Cliffside Lodge Bell go up the ladder and go through the poison room onto the balcony.
#35 – Sha-Chi Amber Fragment
Use the Crimson Forest Cellar Crank in the lodge and go down the stairs. Enter the poison room on the right and open the chest.
#36 – Blackstone Fragment / Crimson Forest Secret Chamber Crank
Go back into the main room and drop onto the wooden plank between the 2 platforms, where you can find both items beneath one of the platforms.
#37 – Memory Flower
Drop down to the bottom and go through the large opening
Key Item – Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key
Go back up the stairs and drop onto the rock platform.
A Healer’s Mercy Objective 3
From the last item, continue on the path and exit out the door, then talk to the thief ahead.
A Healer’s Mercy Objective 4
Backtrack to the Thieves’ Outpost Bell and use the Thieves’ Camp Dungeon Key to unlock the door, then talk to the thief directly ahead.
#38 – Ancient Crossbow (Treasure)
From the thief, turn around and you’ll see a chest in the corner.
Key Item – Cave Prison Key
From the previous collectible, turn around and defeat the 2 enemies down the ladder.
#39 – Sha-Chi Amber Fragment
Directly ahead under the wooden platform.
#40 – Sha-Chi Amber Fragment
Go back up the ladder and use the Cave Prison Key to open the cell with the chest inside.
#41 – Calming Gourd (Accessory) – MISSABLE
After saving all 4 of the thieves, return to the Thieves’ Camp Bell and talk to Yu’er.
After defeating the main boss at the end of this region, this tale will fail if not completed, meaning you cannot collect its reward.
#42 – Flying Dagger (Phantom Edge)
After collecting all 3 treasures, return to Quick Hand Zhang.
#43 – Memory Flower
After the cutscene where you’re getting chased, the collectible will be directly ahead.
#44 – Bell (Mirrorwood Entrance)
Directly beside the previous collectible.
#45 – Iron Gauntlets (Phantom Edge)
Reward for defeating Stone Hand Iron Fever. Story-related.
#46 – Memory Flower
In the arena where you fought Stone Hand Iron Fever.
#47 – Memory Flower
Inside the cave just after the area where you fought Stone Hand Iron Fever.
#48 – Bell (Mirrorwood Long Pillar)
From the previous collectible, take the right path and once you exit the cave, go into the glowing red area on the left.
#49 & #50 – Crimson Forest Long Pillar (Challenge Location) / Miraculous Scabbard (Accessory)
Directly beside the Mirrorwood Long Pillar Bell. The fight here is quite difficult, so you can tackle this later on down the line instead. There will be a reminder later on in the collectible guides of when you should come back to complete it.
#51 – Bell (Burial Grounds)
From the Mirrorwood Long Pillar Bell, go towards the river and swing across the branches. The bell will be directly ahead.
#52 – Memory Flower
From the Burial Grounds Bell, it’ll be straight ahead by the enemies.
#53 – Memory Flower
From the previous collectible, keep moving forward until you reach the forest covered in fog. Hug the right wall and keep looking out to your left and you should see it near a rock.
#54 – Bell (Parting Mists)
After the cutscene with the Illusion of Inanis, drop down and it’ll be directly ahead.
#55 – Banyan Tree (Challenge Location)
From the Parting Mists Bell, drop down and head towards the giant tree to the right and interact with it. This will start a challenge where you’ll fight a couple waves of enemies, with the last wave consisting of a rematch with Jing Ye, The Outlaw. There is no need to worry about dying as if you die, you’ll respawn and resume from whichever wave you died on.
#56 – Memory Flower
From the Banyan Tree, go back onto land and follow the path upward and once you drop off the cliff, it’ll be directly ahead.
#57 – Memory Flower
Continue down to the bottom of the cliff and it’ll be across the river ahead.
#58 – Bell (Mirrorwood Depths)
Directly behind the previous collectible.
#59 – Memory Flower
Directly ahead through the gate.
#60 – Memory Flower
After clearing the mirrorwood puzzle to clear the mist, it’ll be directly ahead.
#61 – Memory Flower
Directly ahead from the previous collectible.
#62 – Bell (Threadbound Great Tree)
After clearing the second mirrorwood puzzle to clear the mist, it’ll be directly ahead.
Missable Warning
Before defeating the next boss, make sure you’ve completed all the following tales, as they will automatically fail.

#63 & #64 – White Serpent & Crimson Viper (Weapon) / Resonance Talisman (Accessory)
Rewards for defeating Bai Chilian, Lady of the Twin Serpents. Story-related.
Clean Up Visits
The collectibles listed under here can only be obtained after certain story events, obtaining specific Phantom Edges, or obtaining specific items.
Progression Required: Reaching Village of Lu and unlock the Leave None Alive tale.
#65 – Seal of Dugu (Accessory)
From the Thieves’ Camp Bell, go onto the giant wooden bridge and defeat the enemy there.
Key Item – Thief’s Manual
Go towards Quick Hand Zhang’s hideout and defeat the enemy by the entrance.
Phantom Edge Required: Bastion
#66 – Brass Chest Guard (Accessory)
From the Thieves’ Camp Bell, enter the Thieves’ Camp Dungeon and drop down to the lower section. Use the Bastion Shield to cross the arrow trap towards the chest.
#67 – Memory Flower
From the previous collectible, go up the ladder and go through the other arrow trap using the Bastion Shield to enter a new area. Look to the right and in the field and it’ll be next to the horse mounted enemy.
#68 – Bell (Lakeside Arch Bridge)
From the previous collectible, on the nearby stone bridge.
Phantom Edge Required: Flaming Mane
Key Item – Loong Emblem (Yin)
From the Red Serpent House, burn the branches ahead and enter the building. It’ll be directly ahead
Key Item – Serpent Rattle: Red / Key Item – Red Serpent Tongue
From the previous item, directly on the left.
Progression Required: Entering Mirage Estate
Once you enter Mirage Estate, it will freeze over the lake by the Burial Grounds Bell.
Phantom Edge Required: Tiger Cannon
#83 – Song of Part (Tempering Material)
From the Cliffside Lodge Bell, then go to the north end of the tunnel and blow up the wall.
That’s 100% of the collectibles you can find in the Crimson Forest area in Phantom Blade Zero.
