Introduction

Welcome to the Tormented Souls 2 Trophy Guide! Follow Caroline Walker after the events of the first game to the town of Villa Hess where she hopes to find help for her sister, but things turn very bad, very quickly. The town isn’t as inviting and helpful as it first seems, and Caroline is now stuck in another nightmare where she must find a way out.

Step 1: Good Ending on Assisted/Standard Difficulty + Collectibles (Diaries, Weapons, Weapon Upgrades, Combination Locks) + Miscellaneous Trophies

On your first playthrough you should go for the Good Ending and grab all Collectibles (31 trophy-relevant Diaries, 10 Weapons, 5 Weapon Upgrades, 3 Combination Locks). Also earn as many miscellaneous trophies as you can. Simply follow the Tormented Souls 2 Walkthrough and you’ll get everything.

Whether you start on Assisted or Standard difficulty comes down to personal preference, since difficulty trophies don’t stack you’ll have to do a full playthrough on each difficulty anyway. If you want fewer playthroughs, you can do your no healing run here, but it will be easier to do it in a separate playthrough once you know the game. If you go for no healing, then you need to play on Assisted Difficulty to keep the playthroughs at only 3.

The trophies and objectives you’ll want to focus on for this playthrough are:

  • Collect all 31 required Diaries to unlock :silver: Journalist, as well as all other diary-related trophies. There is 1 missable diary at the very end of the Bunker, Sister Angelica’s Notepad 4. Make sure you pick this one up as once you leave the area, you can’t go back.
  • Collect all 5 Weapon Upgrades to unlock :silver: Gunsmith.
  • Solve all 3 Combination Lock Puzzles to unlock :bronze: Master Key. (currently bugged and unobtainable)
  • Kill 120 enemies to unlock :gold: Serial Killer, and all other kill-related trophies.
  • Kill an enemy with a trap to unlock :bronze: Crucifixion.
  • Get the Good Ending to unlock :gold: Redemption.

Refer to Tormented Souls 2 Walkthrough for full step-by-step instructions.

Step 2: Bad Ending Assisted Difficulty Playthrough without Healing, 5 Hours Speedrun, without using Map

If you decided to do your no healing playthrough in Step 1, you can completely skip this step.

With the first playthrough done and being more familiar with the game, you’ll want to finish a playthrough without healing, under 5 hours, and without ever opening the map. You’ll want to unlock the bad ending this time around, so just make sure you don’t do the puzzle to save Miguel in the School. The bad ending is faster to get than the good ending, so it’s better to aim for this ending during your speedrun. To save time on puzzles refer to the Puzzle Solutions.

Don’t pick up any maps until you’re about to enter the Church. Once you get here, go pick up the Town map from newspaper stand near the Church and then continue on with the game since the trophy won’t unlock if you didn’t collect any maps. You can also find screenshots of all the maps under :silver: Ranger in case you get lost. The only areas in the game with no maps are some sections in the Town area, like the Sewers, the Church and Bunker. Pressing the Touchpad to open a map when you’re in an area that doesn’t have a map, or in an area where you didn’t grab the map yet will not void the trophy.

Now that you also have access to the Electric Lance, you’ll also want to collect all 10 weapons to unlock :silver: Hoplophile. (currently bugged and unobtainable) As of Update:  1.004.000, the Electric Lance has also been removed from the game temporarily.

Step 3: Standard Difficulty Playthrough without Saving

If you skipped Step 2 in favor of doing the no healing run during Step 1, you’ll also want to try and complete the game in under 5 hours without using the map here.

For this playthrough you’ll want to complete the game without saving on Standard difficulty while going for the bad ending since it’s faster and easier to do. The trophy will not unlock when you’re on Assisted Difficulty, so you need to make sure you’re on Standard. You can refer to :gold: Amnesia for some tips you can use during your no save run. If you die, you have to start the game over from the beginning. Note that this can’t be ‘cheated’ by backing up saves to PS+ Cloud, because the game makes no autosaves on Standard difficulty. You also can’t turn off your console as it would wipe your progress. It has to be done in one sitting. If you need to take a break, pause the game, but don’t power down the console.

Step 4: Tormented Difficulty Playthrough

All that will be left now is completing the game on Tormented Difficulty. Enemies will deal more damage and take more ammo to defeat. You’ll want to be really careful with how you decide to use your ammo during this run.

Untouchable
Complete the game only using one health item.
Gold
*MISSABLE*

This trophy is highly recommended to be done on Assisted difficulty as you will automatically regenerate to ‘Caution’ when your health is in Danger. You also have the benefit of relying on autosaves in case you end up dying during your run, so you’re not put nearly as far back.

The only time you can’t regenerate your health is at the very start of the game since you’re at a fixed Danger level until you heal once, which is why you’re allowed to use 1 healing item. Make sure the healing item you use is a First Aid Kit, which you can find very early in the Matron’s Office to make sure you’re at full health.

For the rest of the run, you’ll want to play it safe and be very careful of traps as they can take a big chunk of your health. If you find yourself losing too much health in a specific section, you can keep reloading the autosaves that Assisted difficulty gives you until you make it through the section with very little damage to no damage. You’ll also want to make sure you use your dodge very often, especially against bosses so you can mitigate your damage as much as possible.

Death
Let the shadows consume you.
Bronze
Whenever you stand in the dark without a light, your screen will slowly be covered in darkness and you’ll eventually die, which will unlock the trophy.
Journey
Travel to the past.
Bronze
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Master Key
Solve all the combination key puzzles.
Bronze
BUGGED & UNOBTAINABLE – After completing all 3 Combination Key Puzzles the trophy still doesn’t unlock. It’s recommended to have a save before the doing the final Combination Key Puzzle so you can go back to the save after a patch has been released.

You will earn this if you follow the Tormented Souls 2 Walkthrough.

There are a total of 3 Combination Key Puzzles to complete:

  • Door to the Archives (story-related, cannot be missed)
    • Female Symbol
    • Cross
    • Moon
  • Gate to the Church (story-related, cannot be missed)
    • Heart
    • Yin and Yang
    • Star
  • Locker in the Computer Lab in the School
    • Sun
    • Heart
    • Man Symbol
Escape
Escape from the infirmary.
Bronze
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Reflection
Enter the Other Side using a mirror.
Bronze
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Anxiety
Complete the game in under five hours.
Gold
*MISSABLE*

It’s highly recommended to do this on subsequent playthroughs so you know where to go and how to complete the puzzles quickly. You can complete the game pretty comfortably in 3-4 hours, so 5 hours is more than enough time. Below are some tips to do it as fast as possible:

  • Go for the bad ending as going for the good ending will add roughly 10-15 minutes to your time.
  • Only kill enemies when you absolutely need to. If there is a room that you’ll never enter again, there is no point in killing any enemies if you’re leaving.
  • Only loot items that are on your path or not out of the way. The only exception to this would be going for the Shotgun as it’s a very good weapon and the time loss is worth it.
  • Play on Assisted difficulty for more ammo drops, meaning you won’t need to spend as much time picking up extra ammo. You’ll also be killing enemies faster since they have less health. You also won’t need to waste time saving or picking up Recording Tapes as you can use the autosaves on Assisted instead.
  • Look at the Tormented Souls 2 Puzzle Guide to have all solutions ready and not waste time on Puzzles. If you get lost with where to go next, refer to the Tormented Souls 2 Walkthrough.
  • Pausing the game with :opt: will pause the timer, so you can check for puzzle solutions or the walkthrough without adding to your time. The timer will still go in the inventory and in the map.
  • You can skip cutscenes with :x: to save time.
Crucifixion
Kill an enemy using a trap.
Bronze
*MISSABLE*

There are plenty of traps in the game you can use the kill enemies. The first trap is in the Basement in the Convent. You can lure an enemy over to the statue with the sword and once they’re close, run under it to trigger it and have it kill them. An easier spot to earn the trophy however is in the Crypts right after you pick up the Cursed Book. All the spinning traps in the area will activate and once you hear the enemies chasing you, you can run behind one of the spike traps and wait for them to run into it.

Amnesia
Complete the game without saving. (Unavailable on Assisted difficulty.)
Gold
*MISSABLE*

You’ll need to complete the game without saving a single time on Standard difficulty or higher. It’s recommended to do this on subsequent playthroughs when you know the game, and try to play as safely as possible. If you die, you have to start from the beginning. Below are some tips to help you survive.

  • You can look at the lights at your controller to see your health. Green means you’re at Fine, yellow means you’re at Caution, and red means you’re at Danger. Once you get down to Danger, you’ll want to heal up right away.
  • Watch out for traps as they can do a good chunk of damage to you and if you’re already low on health, it can outright kill you.
  • Remember where all the enemy locations are so that you don’t get taken by surprise. And if you do, back up and deal with the safely.
  • Make sure to use your dodge, especially against bosses as it has invincibility frames and a lot of boss attacks practically require you to dodge in order to avoid them.
  • During the Puppet Virus Puzzle, make sure you double and triple-check that you’ve done it correctly before you inject yourself as if you do it wrong, it will result in an instant death. And with it being the last puzzle in the game, you’ll have to replay the entire game again if you die here.
  • Similarly, make sure you cure the puppet virus before entering the Resurrection Chamber to face the final boss. If you enter the area while still having the puppet virus, you will be killed and this will not result in earning an ending and will force another attempt.

Note that this can’t be ‘cheated’ by backing up saves to PS+ Cloud either, because the game makes no autosaves on Standard difficulty. You also can’t turn off your console as it would wipe your progress. It has to be done in one sitting. If you need to take a break, pause the game, but don’t power down the console.

Registry
Save the game.
Bronze
To save the game, you’ll need to use Recording Tapes on the Tape Recorders in Safe Rooms. The Recording Tapes are also found in safe rooms. The amount you find in the safe room depends on the difficulty you’ve chosen.

This trophy doesn’t actually unlock on your very first save, it unlocks when you overwrite a save, so don’t worry if it doesn’t unlock right away.

Femme Fatale
Create the nailer.
Bronze
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Blasphemous
Defeat the Iron Maiden.
Bronze
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Avenger
Defeat the Harvester.
Bronze
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Butcher
Defeat Pighead.
Bronze
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Gunsmith
Upgrade all weapons.
Silver
You will earn this if you follow the Tormented Souls 2 Walkthrough.

There are a total of 5 weapon upgrades, you need all of them to earn the trophy:

  •  Metal Pipe 1 – Shotgun Upgrade
    • In the Convent, go to the Torture Museum (Other Side) and use the stretcher in the middle of the room to split the scarecrow. Go back to the Torture Museum in the real world and you can pick up the Shotgun pipe from the split corpse.
  • Compressed Air Canister (Small) – Nailer Upgrade
    • In the Convent, on the table in the upper part of the Library that you access through the Lady Chapel.
  • Metal Pipe 2 – Shotgun Upgrade
    • In the Processing Plant, on a small table in the 2F Dining Room that you can access through the Warehouse.
  • Coil Nail Drum – Automatic Nailer Upgrade
    • In the Cemetery, inside the coffin of the Burial Chamber behind the brick wall you need to destroy with the Sledgehammer.
  • Recoil Spring – Hand Cannon Upgrade
    • In the School, inside the locker in the Computer Lab that you use the Combination Key to open.
Hoplophile
Collect all weapons.
Silver
BUGGED & UNOBTAINABLE – The trophy is currently unobtainable and won’t unlock, even after collecting all 10 weapons on the same playthrough.

You will earn this if you follow the Tormented Souls 2 Walkthrough.

There are 10 weapons in the game and you’ll need to collect them all in a single playthrough to earn the trophy. The last weapon, the Electric Lance, will only appear after clearing the game once so you can’t unlock this trophy on your first playthrough.

  • Nailer (cannot be missed)
    • Combined the Compressed Air Canister with the Nailer Frame. Both these items can be found in the Workshop in the Convent.
  • Hammer (cannot be missed)
    • On a nun’s corpse in the Crematorium in the Convent.
  • Shotgun
    • Complete the puzzle at the top of the Bell Tower in the Convent. (Bell Tower Puzzle)
  • Automatic Nailer
    • On a corpse in the male bathroom in the Mall Lower Floor section of the Mall.
  • Crowbar (Cannot be missed)
    • On a man’s corpse in the Bathroom in the Processing Plant.
  • Crossbow (Cannot be missed)
    • Pick up the Metal Bike Parts in the Surveillance Room of the Processing Plant, as well as the Crossbow Frame in the 2F Kitchen of the Processing Plant then combine them.
  • Chainsaw (Cannot be missed)
    • Pick up the Circular Saw Blades that drop after defeating the Harvester and the Chainsaw in Reception after going down the ladder in the Slaughter Room, then combine them.
  • Hand Cannon
    • Complete the puzzle in the mausoleum in the Cemetery Grounds. (Reliquary Puzzle)
  • Sledgehammer (Cannot be missed)
    • In the Cave next to Joseph.
  • Electric Lance
    • In the Workshop in the Convent after beating the game at least once. (As of Update: 1.004.000, the Electric Lance has been removed from the game temporarily.)
Fashion
Change outfit.
Bronze
You can change your outfit in the Guest Room at the Convent by interacting with the dresser there. Outfits obtained through DLC will count towards the trophy too.
Serial Killer
Kill all enemies in Villa Hess.
Gold
This trophy is misleading as you don’t need to kill every enemy in the game. You only need to kill any 120 enemies, which there are over double that amount to find in the game. In most cases, this should come naturally as there are a lot of enemies that block your path forward that you’ll be killing. If you didn’t unlock it after clearing the game, you can reload an old save and run through the map killing enemies that you missed.
Futile
Finish the game getting the bad ending.
Silver
*MISSABLE*

To get the bad ending, you need to beat the final boss without saving Miguel. As long as you never complete the puzzle to save him, you’ll get the bad ending.

Killer
Kill 80 enemies.
Silver
Refer to :gold: Serial Killer.
Undertaker
Defeat the Coffin.
Bronze
Story-related and cannot be missed.
Walker
End the game on Assisted mode.
Bronze
You’ll need to complete the game on Assisted difficulty, which is the easiest difficulty setting. It has autosaves, gives you more ammo, enemies have less health, and you regenerate your health from Danger to Caution.

Difficulty trophies do not stack, meaning you need one separate playthrough on each difficulty setting.

Survivor
End the game on Standard mode.
Silver
You’ll need to complete the game on Standard difficulty, which is the normal difficulty setting. There are no autosaves, it gives you the regular amount of ammo, and enemies have the normal amount of health.

Difficulty trophies do not stack, meaning you need one separate playthrough on each difficulty setting.

Mad
End the game on Tormented mode.
Gold
You’ll need to complete the game on Tormented difficulty, which is the hardest difficulty setting. To unlock Tormented difficulty you’ll first need to beat the game on Standard difficulty. It won’t unlock if you beat the game on Assisted difficulty. There are no autosaves, you get less ammo, and enemies have more health.

Difficulty trophies do not stack, meaning you need one separate playthrough on each difficulty setting.

Ranger
End the game without using the map.
Silver
*MISSABLE*

You’ll need to beat the game without ever opening the map. Pressing Touchpad will open the map if you have one, so make sure you don’t press it. If you don’t have a map or are in an area without a map, pressing the Touchpad will not void the trophy.

For the trophy to unlock, you’ll need to actually pick up a map however, so the best way to earn it is to finish up to entering the Church without picking up a map, then you can pick up the Town map off the newspaper stand near the Church and beat the game as normal. The last area doesn’t have a map anyway, so you don’t need to worry about accidentally opening it. Below you can see all the maps in the game in case you get lost during your playthrough.

Convent

Town

Mall

Processing Plant

Cemetery

School

Redemption
Finish the game getting the good ending.
Gold
To get the good ending, you’ll need to save Miguel before you beat the final boss.

After getting the Sledgehammer, you can go back to the Convent and go to the Refectory. You can now break the brick wall there and go to the Dormitories where you can find the Duct Tape. After defeating Pighead in the School, you can go to the Girls’ Restroom and go through the mirror to the Other Side and go to the Director’s Office (Other Side). You can then use the Duct Tape on the robot sitting in the chair which will save Miguel and lock you into the good ending.

Ruthless
Kill 40 enemies
Bronze
Refer to :gold: Serial Killer.

Hello ! I don’t think the Crucifixion trophy is missable. It unlocks when you kill the Harvester. He must be killed with the harpoon, which is considered a trap.

It didn’t unlock this way for me (At least on PC), but it seems to unlock randomly for players with things that aren’t considered “traps”

As long as the game or console doesn’t have an update, then it’s safe. If there is an update or console update it will restart the game, which will make you lose your progress

The electrical lance seems to be bugged, or their is a rating tied to it. I played through on standard, good ending, rating C. Got the outfit (Police), but no lance in the workshop on my follow up playthrough (tormented difficulty).

The most recent update has removed it from the game as it wasn’t intended to be released yet. I already updated it on the weapon guide but forgot to update it here on this guide. It has been added now

You know I’m still using the lance in my current run, I’ll be bummed out if I can’t use it on my tormented run.

With the psychical edition you can uninstall the game, get offline, install it from the disk and have day one game with the lance. It makes easier the don’t save and Tormented run. I think they wanted to do like Resident Evil, if you get an “A” you receive a weapon, if you get an “S” you receive infinite ammo, stuff like that. But it was bug or unfinished, and they ‘re fixing it. Also day one I have all the “deluxe upgrade” outfits. Now they disappeared. 5 dollars for the outfits, now makes sense.

Just a warning about a game breaking bug: my brother took the elevator down to the final boss before completing everything you need to do, and when he had completed everything and tried to take the elevator down to the boss again, it said the elevator didn’t have any power. Saw someone else have this problem too. So make sure to have a save before you use the elevator.
