Introduction
Welcome to the Mouse P.I. For Hire Trophy Guide! Mouse P.I. For Hire is a black-and-white first person shooter. The game doesn’t have a mission replay feature, even after finishing the story. Because of this, everything can be considered missable. As a precaution you should make use of the 50 save slots and keep a manual save after each mission.
Step 1: Complete the Game + All Collectibles
Play through the story, along the way follow the Mouse P.I. For Hire Collectible Guide to find everything.
All trophies are missable because there’s no mission replay, so there are a couple things you’ll want to be aware of as you’re going through your playthrough to minimize the chances of having to start a new game:
- Make sure you’re collecting all Newspapers, Baseball Cards, and Comics as you go through the game. If you miss any that are found in missions, you can simply buy them from the in-game shop.
- Make sure you’re collecting as many schematics as you can get. You’ll need 72 schematics to fully upgrade all your weapons, which the game has more than that so you can afford to miss a few.
- Make sure you’re collecting all the clues as you’ll need to have them all collected in order to unlock the related case trophies.
- If you’re struggling on money to earn
S’all in the Cards, don’t buy the Baseball Cards or missed collectibles from the shop until after winning the 30 Baseball Card games to make sure you don’t lock yourself out of earning the trophy by not having enough money. - Make sure you’re always checking the P.I. Office for new side jobs and completing them as if you miss them, you’ll need to start an entirely new playthrough. Some of these side jobs also reward Baseball Cards, which cannot be bought if you never completed the side job. Completing the side jobs is also a requirement for completing the case related trophies.
- Try to collect every clue you come across as not all of them are required to complete the story. It’s still currently unknown if collecting the optional clues is required for
So, Whodunit, or any of the trophies related to collecting Key Clues, so to be safe you’ll want to collect them. - You’re going to want to try and get all the miscellaneous combat trophies as soon as possible to avoid missing them. You can reload your last save in order to farm these trophies if you need to, but if you’re actively going out of your way to get them whenever possible, this shouldn’t be necessary.
With everything in the game being missable as well as having 50 manual save slots, it’s recommended to have a save before starting every single mission since there is no mission replay and if you miss a side job, or a random miscellaneous trophy, you’ll have a save to fall back on. Below are some recommended locations to make an extra save at so you don’t miss anything. This will also be helpful for earning any of the buggy and unobtainable trophies once they get patched, meaning you won’t need to replay the entire game.
- Make a save before starting the Mission “Saltwater Cambozo” in case you miss
Quint’s Delight, for kicking the shark at the start of the level. - Make a save before starting the Mission “”The Bookkeeper” By Tinsel Bros” in case you miss
Herr Flick of the Wrist, for punching the BMP Agitator at the P.I. Office. - Make a save directly after finishing the Mission “Glugging from the Deep” so you can still unlock
S’all in the Cards and
Everbody Loves Rayguns as starting the “Jack Squat” Mission is the point of no return for the P.I. Office. Just make sure you also have enough coins as it requires 50 coins per game of Baseball Cards, which after winning 30 games will cost 1500 coins assuming you win every single game.

S’all in the Cards Win 30 Baseball Card matches. Home Run! |
|
At the P.I. Office Bar, or the bar in the Roadhouse’s you can play a game of Baseball Card by paying 50 coins. Winning the game will then reward you with Prize Token. Collecting 20 of these tokens will let you use the Prize D-Spenser in the bar to claim the X1 D-Mousifier weapon, which will unlock Everybody Loves Rayguns.
The cards you use for this game are the ones you’ve been collecting, so for this reason it’s best to save this for towards the end of the game as not only will you have better cards, but you’ll also have more coins to be able to play the game back to back as you’ll need at least 1500 coins to play all 30 games, assuming you win every single one. Because of this, it’s also recommended to save buying missed collectibles until after completing this trophy so you can reload your save and still have your money to buy collectibles to save yourself from locking yourself out from this trophy due to not having enough money. The game itself is pretty simple, and it is broken up into 2 different rounds: the batter round and the pitcher round. The batter round is where you’ll get all your points, and the pitcher round is where you’ll want to stop your opponent from getting points. General Gameplay Once the game starts, you’ll be given 5 random cards. Some will be player cards, and some will be tactic cards. Player cards are what you actually need to play to face your opponent, and tactic cards will boost certain stats for them. You will be able to play 1 of each card type per turn. If you don’t like some of the cards that were dealt to you that turn, you can press Each card has different values on it, some of which can mean different things.
For scoring on your opponent, you’ll want to make sure that your value is higher than their value in order to win. If the value is the exact same, there will be a coin toss to see who is the winner of that round. Once you start collecting enough cards, you will also be able to ban certain cards from appearing in your hand. You’ll want to ban the lower tier cards to increase your chances of getting better ones. Batter Gameplay The game will always start you as the batter, which is the round where you earn all your points. Batter cards have 2 different values: strength value & speed value. If the strength value is higher than the pitcher, you win and will move the number of spaces equal to your speed value. If your strength value is at least 3 however, the speed value is ignored and you hit a homerun, having every one of your cards currently on a base run to the home plate, including the one that just hit the ball. In the event you’re up against a pitcher with a fielding value, even if you do manage to win the turn, the fielding value is subtracted from your speed value, making you move less spaces or make you not move at all that turn. For example if your speed is 3 and the opponent’s fielding is 2, you’ll only move 1 space. The only exceptions is moving from the home plate to the first plate, as even if your speed value is 1 and the fielding value is 2, you’ll still move that 1 spot to the first plate. The other exception is in the event of a homerun, the fielding value is completely ignored. Pitcher Gameplay In the second round, you’ll play the pitcher, which is where you want to stop your opponent from earning any points. Some pitcher cards have 2 different values: strength value & fielding value. If the strength value is higher than the batter, you’ll win and stop the batter from moving. Some pitcher cards will also have access to a fielding value, this will slow your opponent down even if your strength value is lower, sometimes even stopping them in their tracks. For example if your opponent’s speed is 2 and your fielding is 2, they won’t move at all that turn even if they won the turn, as long as they aren’t moving from the home plate to the first plate. You’ll want to take advantage of fielding to make sure the cards that have managed to take spaces, don’t move as much or at all. You’ll also want to make sure you’re always playing high strength cards to avoid the opponent hitting a home run, as those can very quickly turn the tide against you. |

Not every single weapon can be upgraded. Below are all the weapons that can be upgraded:
You’ll need 72 schematics to fully upgrade all the weapons and the game has over 80 schematics to collect, so as long as you’re looking around the levels and checking every safe you come across, you should have enough schematics by the end of the game to fully upgrade them. |

Hole-y Trinity Kill 3 enemies with one shot. |
|
| There are multiple ways to kill 3 enemies with a single shot, but the easiest way would be to use an explosive barrel. Bring 3 enemies over to one of the explosive barrels and once they’re close enough to it, shoot it to blow it up. If all 3 enemies die, the trophy will unlock. If you’re struggling to get this to work, you could try using the charged shot of the fully upgraded Boomstick on a group of the small melee enemies that can be found in some missions as they’re one of the weakest enemies in the game and should easily kill multiple with a single charged shot. | ||

Thank you for the trophy guide. I’m surprised but glad Mouse: P.I for Hire got a guide on this website before the game has released. Hopefully the developers fix the glitched trophies as soon as possible, and maybe add New Game Plus/mission replay.
A says
This is the same as reviewers getting their reviews out before the game releases. Those running this site get the game early and then follow the publisher’s set embargo date/time and post whenever they are allowed. I’d wager just about all of their trophy guides have been released before whatever game launches.
Anonymous says
Maybe the way I worded it made you misunderstand me, but I already understand how review copies and embargos work, my point was that this game was not in the list of upcoming guides, so that’s why I was surprised it got a trophy guide on this website before the game came out (also Dying Light: The Beast and Life is Strange: Reunion are examples of games getting trophy guides after they have released, but I agree that most PowerPyx trophy guides come out before or on launch day).

If you save before every mission say I’m missing something in mission 2 can I go back get the collectible then reload a current mission say mission 10 will me going back still recognise the collectible I went back to get despite reloading my current mission?
MikeCheckx says
I have the same question. I, like most, despise no chapter select and tons of missables.
If you can go back like you mentioned to cleanup without affecting your actual progress it’s tolerable
ObsiEez says
No. you’d need to complete the game from that point onward for it to continue to count.
Ben says
Can you farm the combat related trophies by reloading previous saves?
ObsiEez says
I believe you can, yes
Kegan says
Not sure about loading previous saves but, i got my Firestarter & Boom Town Trophies in A bit of a Scene mission ( Second encounter ) were you’ll find 4 barrels & 4 Enemies, i kept killing 3 & let the last enemy kill me for a Reset.
Kegan says
Even Spike-D 16 Tons Trophy can be done in the same encounter
DrejzLV says
On twitter post they mentioned they are investigating now bugged trophies referenced to PowerPyx site :)) so hopefully next hotfix addresses the issues.
Laurent says
Are we getting a video for the collectibles as well?
ObsiEez says
There is currently no plan for this
Richard says
I got review copy on Steam, 10 days ago, so i finished. Achievement “So, Whodunit?” its just about clues from main quests. You dont need find others so its connected with story progression.
Bandit says
Well Bang is bugged for me so that’s lovely
John Calum says
The description for the trophy “We’ll B.A.N.G., ok?”
You need to upgrade all 8 weapons to maximum, not 7. I thought it was glitched until I discovered this.
Also seems alot of the main case and clue trophies aren’t popping properly.
ObsiEez says
Which is the 8th gun in question? I unlocked it after upgrading those listed 7 weapons. As for the cases & clue trophies, they seem to either be buggy & not unlocking when they should for a lot of players, or there is some weird secondary unknown unlock requirement
John Calum says
It was the Portable Freezer, only after collecting and then maxing out that did the trophy pop, it may be due to a different build/patch of the game but I needed all 8 maxed for the trophy to unlock.
ObsiEez says
I’ll add this to the guide. I think you are correct & I just probably forgot about the weapon since you get it so late & after no longer having access to the hub.
Euki says
I was working on the Holey Trinity trophy on Bandels Lab. In the projector room with the hot pepper. I gather like 5 by the explosive barrel and shot it once. I killed 5 but neither the Holey Trinity or Goud’em popped up. Maybe mines bugged???
DrejzLV says
There was an update that fixes some clues towards trophies, can you confirm that it fixes unobtainable ones mentioned?
Mike says
The patch came out and fixed two trophies?
ObsiEez says
Yes, the trophies are now fixed. It requires getting all the clues. Guides are being updated with this information & the clue locations will be added to the collectible guide in a few hours after they’re all mapped
Negus says
Newest update patch notes states trophy fixes
Baylee says
What is the point of no return where I won’t be able to upgrade weapons and play the card game.
ObsiEez says
For upgrading your weapons there will be an upgrade station right before the final boss, so as long as you have enough schematics you don’t need to worry about that. As for playing the card game the point of no return for that is starting “The House of the Empty Mouse” as you’ll no longer have access to the P.I Office before starting that mission, or the Roadhouse. But it’s best to do it before starting Jack Squat so you can use the vending machine to get the Raygun weapon as well with the prize tokens
daevera says
Would you be able to save your game each time after winning a baseball card game that way if you lose one you could keep reloading the last save so you don’t waste money? I haven’t started the game yet, so I don’t know how that would work.
ObsiEez says
Yes, this would work
Saaaaaaam96 says
The April 19 patch didn’t fix the “Our Lesser Brothers” trophy, as it requires you to get a specific clue on a previous mission, and since there’s no chapter/level select, those who, like me are already finishing the game will probably have to play it once again
ObsiEez says
The trophies are fixed, it’s just the way it was bugged made it impossible to earn it if you were already past there.
nikita_ololo says
I reloaded old saves and replayed the missions “To Catch a Mockingmouse” and “Saltwater Cambozo” (including pinning all the clues to the wall in the office), but the trophies “Our Lesser Brothers” and “Misfortunes of the Missing Magician” didn’t drop. Am I right in thinking they can only be obtained by replaying the game? Or is there a way to get them by reverting to older saves?
Maybe the missions in guide are incorrect?
ObsiEez says
They’re correct as that is exactly where the popped for me. Did you get every single clue up to those points in the game (making sure not to miss even 1) as well as completing the side jobs?. The patch made 2 clues in the “A Bit of a Scene” & “Cheeseball Sub” Missions obtainable now which previously weren’t, so if you don’t have those it still won’t unlock
DrejzLV says
Just for everyone who didn’t get the Plat for story related trophies, I’ve just got Platinum, had to replay whole game all over again, following Collectibles just for the clues did the trick! Thanks for the patience with the guide and updating it!!!
Brandon says
Yup I know I’m going to have to do this. I already have seen some of the story based clue collecting trophies didn’t pop for me At certain points. So my first play through I’ll just continue get everything non clue related. Then play thru again just for clues. Sucks but at least the game is fun.
Lucas says
I managed to get the 20 tokens to obtain the X1 weapon, and now I have 12 more tokens, but the trophy for winning 30 baseball games didn’t unlock. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
ObsiEez says
Some side jobs reward prize tokens as well. There is a total of 6 prize tokens rewarded for side jobs, so you should still need to win a couple more games
Cormac says
This is quite an annoying platinum without mission replay / collectible tracker in levels. Think I might leave it and hope they introduce one in the future so I can go back and clean it up.
Brandon says
Saving before and after baseball game wins and reloading after a loss makes the games less of a hassle. As you will never technically lose coins after a loss.
Mac says
True, and also the game tracks wins separately from save files so you don’t need to have 1500 at once. I didn’t have enough money for 30 games so I won 20 ten reloaded an earlier save. After winning 10 on that save the trophy popped.
Addison says
In One Flew, you can grind infinite money. It’s very slow but there’s no real alternative right now. During the fill the inkwell part of the level, enemies infinitely respawn. If you need to top off money, it’s better than nothing.
ClaudioChamp says
“Smoked cheese and Mirrors” and “Misfortunes of the missing magician” glitched on me. Is there anyway to know what I missed?
ObsiEez says
You can check your clue tab in the journal & cross reference it with the missable clues in the collectible guide. Did you also make sure to do all the side jobs while working towards those 2 trophies?
