Building Bridges is the 18th main story quest in Final Fantasy 16 (XVI) and a subquest of “Homecoming“. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the Building Bridges main scenario chapter.
- Starting Location: Martha’s Rest
- Requirement: Occurs during Homecoming
- Reward: 50 XP, 100 AP, 1100 Gil, 1 Meteorite
- Quest Info: In order to continue on their way to Phoenix Gate, Clive and Jill must see the bridge to Eastpool rebuilt. They make their way down into the marshes in search of Martha’s wayward carpenter.
After Clive and Kill save the carpenter from certain death at the claws of maddened monsters, he thanks them by getting to work on a new bridge.
Objectives:
- Find Bernard
- Rescue the man being attacked
- Slay the cray claws
- Report back to Martha
Find Bernard
You have the spot Bernard is located marked on the map just south of Martha’s Rest, so head over there. You can easily reach it from a ladder just to the side of the bridge you entered from (and even see Bernard sitting below).
Rescue the man being attacked
Head down to the area below where you can see a group of monsters surround Bernard on the rock.
Slay the cray claws
You’ll have to take out the group of enemies here to complete the objective. Cray Claws look like scorpions, and attack using melee with their claws and stingers, but they shouldn’t be much for you at this point.
Report back to Martha
After some scenes, Bernard will be fixing the bridge. Head back to Martha in the tavern to complete the subquest.
This finishes Building Bridges Main Quest in Final Fantasy 16 (XVI).
