Unexpected Power is unlocked automatically after completing Bird’s Eye View during Prologue: Act 1.

Defeat the Slimes
A couple fire slimes appear at the water’s edge. Use your attacks to defeat them.
Use Elemental Skill
As expected, more fire slimes appear. A new ability appears as well. This ability is called an Elemental Skill. These skills have a button press-version as well as a button-hold version. Elemental Skills channel the element that the character wields. This provides the first example of how elements interact with each other.
Use the Elemental Skill to defeat the fire slimes.
Use Elemental Burst
A couple more fire slimes appear, and the other new ability appears. This ability is called an Elemental Burst. These are ultimate attacks that channel the element that the character wields.
Use the Elemental Burst to defeat the fire slimes.
The story automatically transitions into the next quest: Forest Rendezvous
