When the Wind Dies Down is the seventh subquest in Prologue: Act 3, Song of the Dragon and Freedom, an Archon Quest in Genshin Impact. This walkthrough will guide you through all objectives of the When the Wind Dies Down Archon Subquest.
When the Wind Dies Down is unlocked automatically when you finish the subquest A Long Shot.

Mission Description: Debrief with the citizens of Mondstadt
Objectives:
- Talk to Amber
- Chat with the locals (Cyrus)
- Chat with the locals (Nimrod)
- Chat with the locals (Grace)
- Go to Good Hunter
- Take a seat by Amber
Starting Location: Outside Mondstadt City
After the end of the subquest, A Long Shot, you regain control near the bridge to Mondstadt City.
Talk to Amber
NOTE: If you have not finished the World Quest Not to be Missed, then it will conflict with When the Wind Dies Down. In this situation, you cannot progress When the Wind Dies Down until you complete Not to be Missed.
Amber tells you about a hilichurl attack on Mondstadt while you were dealing with Dvalin.
Chat with the locals (Cyrus)
After the conversation, cross the bridge into Mondstadt City and speak to Cyrus, who stands just inside the gate.
Chat with the locals (Nimrod)
Head up the stairs and speak to Nimrod.
Chat with the locals (Grace)
Climb the next set of stairs and speak with Sister Grace.
Go to Good Hunter
NOTE: If you have not completed Kaeya’s Story Quest, Kaeya’s Troubles, then you will have a conflict with When the Wind Dies Down and unable to complete it. Complete Kaeya’s Troubles first.
Run up the stairs and to the left, and approach the Good Hunter food counter. Kaeya talks about shadow figures infiltrating Mondstadt City while you were fighting Stormterror.
He also tells you the Abyss Order answers to a leader they call “The Prince.”
Take a seat by Amber
NOTE: This step of the quest can conflict with Amber’s Story Quest, Glide With the Wind. If this happened, finish Glide With the Wind now.
Walk over to Amber’s table and sit across from her. She treats you to a farewell dinner.
Finishing this custcene completes the When the Wind Dies Down subquest.
