Red Dead Redemption All Hideout Locations

Red Dead Redemption has 7 Gang Hideouts. Completing all of them is required for multiple trophies and achievements:

Austin Overpowered – Complete Twin Rocks, Pike’s Basin, and Gaptooth Breach Hideouts.
Evil Spirits – Complete Tumbleweed and Tesoro Azul Hideouts.
Instinto Asesino – Complete Fort Mercer and Nosalida Hideouts.
Redeemed – Complete all 7 Gang Hideouts within 24 in-game hours to unlock the US Marshal Uniform, needed for 100% Completion.

Hideouts respawn every 24 in-game hours. Time can be advanced by 8 hours when camping and entering the save screen. Go in and out of the save menu 3 times and then you can retry the hideouts.

This guide is updated for the Remaster on PS4 / PS5 / PC / Xbox Series S/X / Nintendo Switch 2 / Mobile.

Hideout 1: Twin Rock

Unlock Requirement: Automatically unlocked at the beginning of the game.

Meet the rancher near the rocks outside Twin Rocks, then kill all the Walton Gang members in the area starting with the two standing on top of the rocks on either side of the wall. Once you’ve killed everyone outside, two men will come out of the house leaving the door open for you to go in. Kill them both and go inside, carefully edging around the corner to the west. When you see the gang member holding the rancher’s daughter hostage, go into dead eye mode and kill him.

Hideout 2: Pike’s Basin

Unlock Requirement: Challenge unlocked by completing mission “Justice in Pike’s Basin”.

Meet a rancher behind some rocks at the start of the canyon leading to Pike’s Basin. It seems that the Bollard Gang have stolen his herd, and it’s up to you to get it back. Move from rock to rock up the canyon, taking the high road for safety or stay on the low road for speed. It’s important to stay ahead of the rancher and kill everyone you pass, because you will fail the challenge if he dies. Once you reach the Bollard camp and clear it out, the rancher will tell you to clear out the remaining Bollard Gang in the canyon and he’ll follow you out with the herd. Follow the new red dots on your mini-map as they pop up, and kill them all to complete the challenge.

Hideout 3: Gaptooth Breach

Unlock Requirement: Challenge unlocked by completing mission “Man is Born Unto Trouble”.

Start by meeting the man by the crate marked with a yellow dot on your map. Head up and into the camp to the rail house at the end of the cart track, at the blue dot on your map. On the second floor you’ll find Floyd who has been tied up. Free him and cover him as you head into the mine. Be sure to clear the path in front of him by using barrels and boxes of TNT as well as gas lanterns to kill enemies. Follow the tracks until you find the chest at the new yellow dot on your map, then continue to follow them to the exit, killing more bandits on the way. If you’ve eliminated everyone, the Hideout will show completed as soon as you exit the mine.

Hideout 4: Tumbleweed

Unlock Requirement: Challenge unlocked by completing mission “New Friends, Old Problems”.

Find a Sheriff tied up in the remains of the Tumbleweed jail. Kill all the criminals in town then head to the mansion to finish off the last of their gang. The challenge ends when everyone is dead.

Hideout 5: Tesoro Azul

Unlock Requirement: Challenge unlocked by completing mission “The Demon Drink”.

Meet up with the Sheriff on the east side of Tesoso Azul, then storm the gates. After you kill everyone in town, you’ll be prompted to kill the leader of the gang in the house near the east gate. Open the door and go inside, slowly edging around the corner to the east and be ready to use dead eye the second you see the leader who is holding a hostage. Kill him without the hostage dying and the challenge will be completed.

Hideout 6: Fort Mercer

Unlock Requirement: Challenge unlocked by completing mission “The Assault on Fort Mercer”.

Help Leon enter the fort and kill all the bandits on the upper and lower floors before going down the stairs and opening the gate for him. Once you do, a new wave of enemies will spawn, and taking them out will cause the leaders to spawn. Kill all three, then open the marked chest to complete the challenge.

Hideout 7: Nosalida

Unlock Requirement: Challenge unlocked by completing mission “We Shall Be Together in Paradise”.

Speak with the General to begin this challenge. Clear out all the rebel forces in town, using fire bottles to burn all the marked buildings and the two ships as you go. Once all the buildings are burned, head back to the general to complete the challenge.
