In Saints Row (2022 Reboot) you can unlock a VTOL Plane. This is similar to previous games, a plane that can hover like a Helicopter but can also fly like a Plane. It’s the only plane in the game. This guide explains how to unlock the VTOL.
All you need to do to unlock the VTOL is to finish the story. It unlocks in the rewards screen after the last main mission:
Where to Get VTOL
After finishing the Story you can retrieve the VTOL at the Helipad at your Headquarters (HQ).

Later after building the Saints Tower (after story) you get a second Helipad, in whatever district you decide to place the Saints Tower. Then the VTOL can also be summoned from there.
VTOL Controls
- Press X (PlayStation) / A (Xbox) to lift off and fly higher up
- Press Square / X to fly down and to land
- Press Circle / B to switch between Plane Mode and Helicopter Mode
- Press R2 / RT to shoot Laser Weapon
- Press L2 / LT to shoot Rockets
- Press Triangle / Y to enter and exit, you can also exit in midair and use the Wingsuit to fly down
- L1/R1 and RB/LB to fly sideways, only available in plane mode. Pressing the button quickly 3 times does a barrel roll in midair in plane mode.
The VTOL is the single best vehicle to get around the map quickly and to clean up any side activities you have left. It’s often quicker to fast travel back to your Headquarters and then fly to the next Side Activity from there instead of driving by car.
